I. Introduction
These Instructions For Use contain information and Safety Precautions
on the SinuStarTM Aerosol Delivery System. Open the inside front cover
to view illustrations for setup of your SinuStarTM Aerosol Delivery System.
The illustrations will be referenced throughout these Instructions For Use.
Separate Instructions For Use are included with the enclosed SinuStarTM
Reusable Nebulizer.
Before using your SinuStarTM Aerosol Delivery System, you should read
and understand the entire Instructions For Use for both the SinuStarTM
Compressor and the SinuStarTM Nebulizer. Take special note of all safety
precautions marked DANGER and WARNING. Save these Instructions For
use for future reference.

Read all warnings and instructions before use. Use
the product only for its intended use as described
in these Instructions For Use. Improper use can
result in serious or fatal illness/injury, improper

Use only with nebulizers and tubing authorized by
PARI for this device. Other nebulizers and tubing
may result in improper treatment.
When using electrical and medical products,
especially when children are present, basic safety
precautions should always be followed, including
the following:
DANGER
To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury from
electrocution:
1. Do not place or store product where it can fall
or be pulled into a bath tub, sink, water, or other
liquid. Do not place in or drop into water or other
liquid. Do not use while bathing.
2. Do not reach for a product that has fallen into
water or other liquid. Unplug immediately.
3. Always unplug this product immediately after
using.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury from
electrocution, fire or burns and to reduce the risk
of damage and malfunction to the unit:
1. Before use, check the serial number label on the
bottom of the SinuStarTM Compressor to ensure
that the voltage and current indicated on the unit
correspond to the voltage and current available.
2. Never operate this product if it has a damaged
cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has
been dropped or damaged, or if it has been
exposed to any liquids inside the case. Return the
product to an authorized PARI Service Center for
examination and repair.
3. Keep all electrical cords away from heated
surfaces. Do not overload wall outlets or use
extension cords.
4. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is
wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug
will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug
does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it
still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do
not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
5. Never block the air vents of this product or place
it on a soft surface, such as a bed or couch, where
the air vents may be blocked. Keep the air vents
free of lint, hair, and similar substances. Blockage
could cause excessive heat buildup. A product
should never be left unattended when plugged in.

6. Do not operate outdoors.
7. Do not operate where oxygen is being administered in a closed environment
such as an oxygen tent.
8. Never drop or insert any object into any openings.
9. Be sure the SinuStarTM Compressor is unplugged prior to cleaning.
10. Do not open or disassemble the SinuStarTM Compressor. Refer all
servicing to an authorized PARI Service Center.
WARNING
Close supervision is necessary when this product is used by or near the
physically or mentally impaired or children. Never use while sleeping or
drowsy. This product contains small parts that may present a choking hazard
to small children. The tubing also presents strangulation hazard. Always use
close adult supervision when administering a treatment to a child. DO NOT
LEAVE CHILD UNATTENDED DURING TREATMENTS.

IV. Getting Started
Treatment with the PARI SinuStar Aerosol Delivery System is most effective
when the nasal passages are not blocked. Before starting therapy with
the SinuStar Aerosol Delivery System please make sure the nasal passages
are clear by rinsing with a nasal irrigator according to the manufacturer’s
instructions for use.

1. Check the SinuStarTM Aerosol Delivery System
packing box and make sure the following basic
components are included:
If you did not receive the components listed,
please contact the dealer where you purchased
your SinuStarTM Aerosol Delivery System. Some
models may include additional accessories such
as a DVD, carrying case, etc.
2. It is a good idea to always keep an extra
SinuStarTM Reusable Nebulizer and extra
compressor air filter on hand at all times. You may
need it if parts become lost or damaged.
V. Set-Up
1. Place the SinuStarTM Compressor on a
stable, flat surface. Do not place on cushioned,
upholstered, or carpeted surfaces. Place the unit
in an area that is clean and free of dust (Fig. A).
2. The Clear View™ Filter in the front of the
compressor allows you to check the condition of
the filter at any time without removing it. When the
compressor is new, note the bright white color of
the filter. There is no reason to remove the filter at
any time until you are ready to replace it. Details
regarding when to replace the filter are covered
under “Maintenance” on page 7.
3. Connect the polarized plug on the power cord
to a polarized wall outlet (Fig. B). Do not use an
extension cord.
4. Open the nebulizer package and read and follow
the nebulizer’s Instructions For Use.
5. It is important to firmly push the tubing all the
way onto the air outlet of the compressor prior
to starting the treatment (Fig. C). The tubing is
designed to fit tightly.
Note: Your SinuStarTM Compressor has a nebulizer
holder on the front of the unit (Fig. C). This nebulizer
holder allows the nebulizer to be placed in the
front of the SinuStarTM Compressor with the tubing
attached.

VII. Maintenance Of The SinuStarTM Compressor
Tubing Maintenance:
If there is any moisture or condensation in the tubing after the treatment,
let the compressor run with only the tubing attached for a few minutes. The
warm air from the compressor will dry the moisture or condensation in the
tubing. Use a damp cloth to wipe the exterior of the tubing.
Filter:
The Clear View™ Filter on the front of the SinuStarTM Compressor was
designed to be monitored without removing it. This makes it easy to check
without much work. When the filter is new, it is bright white in color. Over
time, the filter will turn grey, which means it is time to replace it. You must
also replace the filter if it gets wet or becomes clogged. There is no reason
to remove the filter until you are ready to replace it. The filter is rated to last
500 hours of use before replacement is required. A good general rule is to
replace the filter whenever you replace your SinuStarTM Reusable Nebulizer.

For filter replacement, obtain the replacement filter
set part #85F0012 which includes the filter and the
filter removal tool (Fig. D). Push the filter tool firmly
over the filter and rotate the filter removal tool
counter clockwise a full 8 turns until loose and pull
the filter out (Figs. D and E). Discard the dirty filter
and tool. The filter tool prevents unwanted removal
of the filter or a lost filter.
Once the filter is removed, tilt the compressor so
that the face of the unit is facing the floor. Gently
tap on the back of the compressor to remove any
unwanted materials from the filter area. Place the
compressor on a stable surface and using clean
hands, push a new filter into the filter receptacle.
Note: Do not attempt to wash and reuse filters.
Do not use substitute filter material. Compressor
damage may result.
Cleaning the SinuStarTM Compressor Housing
and Tubing:
Use a damp cloth to wipe the exterior of the
SinuStarTM Compressor housing and tubing
(Fig. F).
WARNING
Never spray fluid into the ventilation slots on the
SinuStarTM Compressor. Fluid could cause damage
to the electrical and compressor parts and could
lead to a malfunction. In the event that fluid enters
the unit, return the product to an authorized PARI
Service Center for examination and repair.
Maintenance and Repair:
Never operate the SinuStarTM Aerosol Delivery
System if it is improperly or incompletely
assembled, or damaged. Use only original PARI
parts and attachments authorized by PARI Service
Center for the SinuStarTM Aerosol Delivery System.
Use of other parts and attachments may damage
the unit or cause improper treatment. Do not open
or disassemble the compressor unit at any time.
Repairs, service and maintenance should be carried
out only by an authorized PARI Service Center.
Note: There are no user serviceable parts inside the
SinuStarTM Compressor case. Service by anyone
other than an authorized PARI Service Center voids
warranty.
VIII. SinuStarTM Compressor Limited
Warranty
PARI offers a standard five (5) year warranty on the
SinuStarTM Aerosol Delivery System Compressor
and its parts. The warranty period is determined
by which model is purchased. The warranty period
will be printed on the serial number label located
on the bottom of the compressor. PARI warrants
that the SinuStarTM Compressor and its parts will
be free from defects in workmanship and materials
for a period of sixty (60) months, depending on the
model, from the date of first retail purchase of the
equipment. This warranty does not cover failures of
the nebulizer, tubing, or accessories. This warranty

does not extend to failures resulting from accident, misuse, abuse, alteration,
use of unauthorized service; parts or cleaning solutions, or failure to comply
with Instructions For Use.
If the warranted equipment should fail during the warranty period, PARI, at
its option, will repair or replace the equipment or parts at issue, provided the
claim is bona fide. It shall be the responsibility of the purchaser to pack and
return the equipment in a manner to avoid shipping damage. The shipment
must be prepaid to PARI Respiratory Equipment, Inc. This warranty covers
the cost of labor incurred in the removal or replacement of the warranted
component parts at authorized PARI service centers only. To make a claim
under this warranty, notify the authorized service center by calling PARI
Patient Connection at:

THERE ARE NO OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTIES. ALL IMPLIED
WARRANTIES ON THE SINUSTARTM COMPRESSOR AND ITS PARTS,
INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS
FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED TO SIXTY (60) MONTHS
FROM THE DATE OF FIRST RETAIL PURCHASE. ALL EXPRESS OR
IMPLIED WARRANTIES ON ANY OTHER PARTS, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE, ARE DISCLAIMED. Some states do not allow limitations on how

The sole and exclusive remedy under this warranty is to repair or replace

DAMAGES TO THE PURCHASER OR ANY THIRD PARTY, INCLUDING

OF BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, LOSS OF PROPERTY, ECONOMIC LOSSES,
OR STATUTORY OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, WHETHER IN NEGLIGENCE,

the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the
above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives

IX. Repair Return Procedure
1. Contact PARI Patient Connection at

authorized service center.
2. In writing, describe the malfunction or symptoms
of the SinuStarTM Compressor . Include your full
name, address and daytime telephone number.
3. Send written description and SinuStarTM
Compressor in a protective box to the address
provided by Patient Connection.

IV. Primer Paso
Treatment with the PARI SinuStar Aerosol Delivery
System is most effective when the nasal passages
are not blocked. Before starting therapy with the
SinuStar Aerosol Delivery System please make
sure the nasal passages are clear by rinsing with
a nasal irrigator according to the manufacturer’s
instructions for use.

V. Ajuste
1. Coloque el Compresor SinuStarTM en una
superficie estable y plana. Nunca lo coloque sobre
una superficie acojinada, una alfombra o tapiz.
Coloque la unidad en un área limpia y libre de polvo
(Fig. A).
2. El filtro Clear View™ de la parte frontal del
compresor le permite revisar el estado del filtro en
cualquier momento sin tener que quitarlo. Cuando
el compresor es nuevo, el filtro es de color blanco
brillante. No hay motivo para quitar el filtro sino
hasta que esté listo para ser reemplazado. Los
detalles relacionados a la fecha de reemplazo del
filtro aparecen en “Mantenimiento” en la página
16.
3. Conecte el enchufe polarizado del cable de
alimentación a la toma de red (Fig. B). Nunca utilice
un cable de extensión.
4. Abra el paquete del nebulizador y lea y siga las
Instrucciones de uso del nebulizador.
5. Es importante empujar el tubo firmemente y
hasta el fin a la toma de aire del compresor antes de
iniciar el tratamiento (Fig. C). El tubo está diseñado
para embonar fijamente.
Nota: Su Compresor SinuStarTM cuanta con una
agarradera de nebulizador en la parte frontal de la
unidad (Fig. C). Esta agarradera permite colocar el
nebulizador en la parte de adelante del Compresor
SinuStarTM con el tubo conectado.

VII. Mantenimiento del Compresor SinuStarTM
Mantenimiento del Tubo:
De haber humedad o condensación en el tubo después del tratamiento, deje
el compresor funcionando únicamente con el tubo conectado unos minutos.
El aire caliente del compresor secará la humedad o la condensación del
tubo. Utilice un paño húmedo para limpiar el exterior del tubo.

Filtro:
El Filtro Clear View™ de la parte frontal del
Compresor SinuStarTM fue diseñado para
monitorearse sin tener que quitarlo. Esto hace
más fácil revisarlo sin mucho trabajo. Cuando el
filtro es nuevo, su color es blanco brillante. Con el
tiempo, el filtro se pondrá gris, lo cual significa que
se tiene que reemplazar. También debe reemplazar
el filtro si se humedece o si se obstruye. No hay
motivo para quitar el filtro sino hasta que esté listo
para ser reemplazado. El filtro está diseñado para
durar 500 horas de uso antes de su reemplazo.
Una regla general muy útil consiste en reemplazar
el filtro cada vez que reemplace su Nebulizador
reutilizable SinuStarTM.
Para reemplazar el filtro, obtenga la pieza de
repuesto de filtro #85F0012, la cual incluye el filtro
y la herramienta de desmontaje del filtro (Fig. D).
Empuje firmemente la herramienta del filtro por
sobre el filtro y gire la herramienta de desmontaje
del filtro en sentido opuesto a las manecillas del
reloj 8 veces completas hasta que quede suelto,
quite el filtro (Figs. D y E). Deshágase del filtro sucio
y de la herramienta. La herramienta del filtro evita
la remoción no autorizada del filtro, o que éste se
pierda.
Una vez desmontado el filtro, incline el compresor
hasta que la cara de la unidad apunte al piso. Golpee
suavemente en la parte trasera del compresor para
eliminar los materiales sobrantes del área del filtro.
Coloque el compresor sobre una superficie estable
y con las manos limpias, empuje un filtro nuevo en
el receptáculo.
Nota: Nunca intente lavar y usar nuevamente los
filtros. No utilice material para filtro sustituto.
Se Podría Dañar el Compresor SinuStarTM:
Limpieza del armazón y tubo del SinuStarTM Utilice
un paño húmedo para limpiar el exterior del
armazón y del tubo del SinuStarTM (Fig. F).
ADVERTENCIA
Nunca rocíe líquidos en las ranuras de ventilación del
Compresor SinuStarTM. El líquido podría ocasionar

En caso de que algún líquido entre en la unidad,
devuelva el producto a un Centro de Servicio PARI
autorizado para que lo examinen y lo reparen.
Mantenimiento y Reparación:
Nunca ponga a funcionar el SinuStarTM Aerosol
Delivery System si está armado de forma incorrecta
o incompleta o si está dañado. Utilice solamente
partes y accesorios PARI originales y autorizados
por el centro de Servicio PARI para el SinuStarTM
Aerosol Delivery System. El uso de partes y
accesorios no autorizados puede dañar la unidad
u ocasionar un tratamiento inadecuado. Nunca
abra ni desmonte la unidad del compresor. Las
reparaciones, el servicio y el mantenimiento se
deben realizar solamente en un Centro de Servicio
PARI autorizado.

Nota: No hay partes dentro del estuche del compresor SinuStarTM a las que
el usuario tenga que dar mantenimiento. Todo mantenimiento efectuado por
personal que no sea el autorizado por el Centro de Servicio PARI anula la
garantía.
VIII. Garantía Limitada del Compresor SinuStarTM
PARI ofrece una póliza de garantía estándar limitada de cinco (5) años con
el Compresor SinuStarTM Aerosol Delivery System y sus partes. El período
de garantía varía según el modelo adquirido. El período de garantía estará
impreso en la etiqueta del número de serie de la base del compresor. PARI
garantiza el Compresor SinuStarTM y sus partes contra cualquier defecto de
fabricación y i materiales por un período de sesenta (60) meses a partir de la
primera fecha de compra del equipo, dependiendo del modelo Esta garantía
no cubre fallas del nebulizador, tubo o accesorios. La garantía no se aplica
a fallas derivadas de accidente, mal uso, uso excesivo, alteración, uso de
servicio no autorizado o de partes o soluciones de limpieza no autorizadas;
u omisión en el seguimiento de las Instrucciones de uso.
Si el equipo falla dentro del período de garantía, PARI, si a su juicio es aplicable,
se compromete a reparar o reponer el equipo o las partes en cuestión,
siempre y cuando la reclamación sea de buena fe. Será responsabilidad del
comprador el empacar y enviar el equipo de tal forma que no sufra daños
durante su transportación. Los gastos de transportación se deben pagar
por anticipado a PARI Respiratory Equipment, Inc. Esta garantía cubre los
costos de mano de obra incurridos durante el desmontaje o sustitución
de los componentes o partes bajo garantía en los centros de servicio PARI
autorizados solamente. Para hacer efectiva esta garantía notifique al centro
de servicio autorizado, llamando a Conexión para Pacientes de PARI (PARI

IMPLÍCITAS DE COMERCIABILIDAD E IDONEIDAD
PARA UN USO EN ESPECÍFICO SE LIMITAN A
SESENTA (60) MESES A PARTIR DE LA FECHA
DE LA PRIMERA ADQUISICIÓN. QUEDAN SIN
VALIDEZ TODAS LAS GARANTÍAS EXPLÍCITAS O
IMPLÍCITAS DE CUALESQUIERA OTRAS PARTES,
INCLUYENDO LAS GARANTÍAS IMPLÍCITAS DE
COMERCIABILIDAD O IDONEIDAD PARA UN USO
EN ESPECÍFICO. Algunos estados no permiten
limitaciones en cuanto al tiempo de duración de
una garantía implícita, por lo que la citada limitación
posiblemente no pueda aplicarse a su situación.
El único y exclusivo recurso que ampara la
presente garantía es la reparación o reposición del
Compresor SinuStarTM y/o las partes del
mismo, a criterio de PARI. EN NINGÚN CASO
PARI PODRÁ HACERSE RESPONSABLE DE
DAÑOS INCIDENTALES O CONSECUENCIALES
OCASIONADOSALCOMPRADOROATERCEROS,
INCLUYENDODEMANERAENUNCIATIVA,DAÑOS
DERIVADOSDEUTILIDADESPERDIDAS,PÉRDIDA
DE OPORTUNIDADES COMERCIALES, PÉRDIDA
DE PROPIEDAD, PÉRDIDAS ECONÓMICAS,
O DAÑOS Y PERJUICIOS IMPUESTOS CON
CARÁCTER PÚBLICO O EJEMPLAR, YA SEA EN
NEGLIGENCIA, GARANTÍA O RESPONSABILIDAD
OBJETIVA. En algunos estados no se permite la
exclusión o restricción de los daños incidentales
o consecuenciales, por lo que posiblemente las
restricciones o exclusiones antes citadas no se
apliquen a su caso. Esta garantía le otorga derechos
específicos, También puede gozar de otros
derechos, los cuales varían según el Estado.
IX. Procedimiento de Devolución para
Reparación
1. Póngase en contacto con el servicio de atención
al paciente de PARI (PARI Patient Connection),

2. Describa por escrito la falla o síntomas del
Compresor SinuStarTM. No olvide incluir su nombre
completo, dirección y teléfono en el que se le
pueda localizar durante el día.
3. Envíe la descripción y el Compresor SinuStarTM
en una caja de protección a la dirección que se le
proporcione en la Conexión para pacientes.
