An authorised Pride Provider or qualified technician must perform the initial setup of this
scooter and must perform all of the procedures in this manual.
The symbols below are used throughout this owner's manual and on the scooter to identify warnings and
important information. It is very important for you to read them and understand them completely.
WARNING! Indicates a potentially hazardous condition/situation. Failure to follow
designated procedures can cause either personal injury, component damage, or
malfunction. On the product, this icon is represented as a black symbol on a yellow triangle
with a black border.
MANDATORY! These actions should be performed as specified. Failure to perform
mandatory actions can cause personal injury and/or equipment damage. On the product,
this icon is represented as a white symbol on a blue dot with a white border.
PROHIBITED! These actions are prohibited. These actions should not be performed at
any time or in any circumstances. Performing a prohibited action can cause personal
injury and/or damage to equipment. On the product, this icon is represented as a black
symbol with a red circle and red slash.

Place unit on level ground and to one side when changing from drive mode to
freewheel mode or freewheel mode to drive mode.

Removal of grounding prong can create electrical hazard. If necessary, properly
install an approved 3-pronged adapter to an electrical outlet having 2-pronged
plug access.
Do not use a cell phone, walkie/talkie, laptop or other radio transmitter while
operating.
Do not connect an extension lead to the AC/DC converter or the battery charger.
Do not remove anti-tip wheels.
Avoid exposure to rain, snow, ice, salt or standing water whenever possible. Maintain
and store in a clean and dry condition.
Use only AGM or Gel-Cell batteries to reduce the risk of leakage or explosive
conditions.
Contact with tools can cause electrical shock.
Do not allow unsupervised children to play near the Travel Scooter while the
batteries are charging.
Keep your hands away from the tyres when driving. Be aware that loose fitting
clothing can become caught in the drive tyres.

Do not sit on the mobility product when it is being used in connection with any type
of lift/elevation product.
Disposal and recycling-contact your authorised Pride Provider for information on
proper disposal of your Pride product and its packaging.
Battery charger for indoor use only.
Contains Lead.
Do not use batteries with different amp-hour (Ah) capacities. Do not mix old
and new batteries. Always replace both batteries at the same time.

MANDATORY! Do not operate your new Travel Scooter for the first time without completely
reading and understanding this owner’s manual.
YourTravelScooter is a state-of-the-art life-enhancement device designed toincrease mobility. Prideprovides
anextensive variety of products tobestfitthe individual needs oftheTravelScooter user. Pleasebeawarethat
thefinal selection andpurchasingdecisionregardingthe type ofTravelScootertobe used istheresponsibilityof
the Travel Scooter user who is capable of making such a decision and his/her healthcare professional (i.e.,
medicaldoctor,physicaltherapist, etc.).
ThecontentsofthismanualarebasedontheexpectationthatamobilitydeviceexperthasproperlyfittedtheTravel
Scootertotheuserandhasassisted theprescribinghealthcare professionaland/ortheauthorisedPrideProviderin
theinstructionprocessfortheuseoftheproduct.
Therearecertainsituations,includingsomemedicalconditions,wheretheTravelScooteruserwillneedtopractice
operatingtheTravelScooter in the presence ofatrainedattendant.Atrained attendant canbedefinedasafamily
memberorcareprofessionalspeciallytrainedinassistingaTravelScooteruserinvariousdailylivingactivities.
AsyoubeginusingyourTravelScooterduringdailyactivities,youwillprobablyencountersituationsinwhichyou
willneedsomepractice.Simplytakeyourtimeandyouwillsoonbeinfullandconfidentcontrolasyoumaneouver
throughdoorways,onandofflifts,upanddownramps and over moderate terrain.
Beloware some precautions, tipsandothersafetyconsiderations that will helpyoubecomeaccustomedto oper-
atingtheTravelScooter safely.
MODIFICATIONS
Pridehasdesignedand engineeredyourTravelScootertoprovide maximummobilityandutility.However,under
nocircumstances should youmodify,add,removeordisable anyfeature,partorfunction ofyourTravelScooter.
WARNING! Do not modify your Travel Scooter in any way not authorised by Pride. Do not
use accessories if they have not been tested or approved for Pride Products.
REMOVABLE PARTS
WARNING! Do not attempt to lift or move your Travel Scooter by any of its removable
parts, including the armrests, seat or shroud.
PRE-RIDE SAFETY CHECK

beforeeachusetomakesure yourTravel Scooter operates smoothly and safely.

PerformthefollowinginspectionspriortousingyourTravelScooter:
!Checkfor propertyreinflation(if equippedwithpneumatic tyres).
!Checkallelectricalconnections.Makesuretheyaretightandnotcorroded.
!Checkallharnessconnections.Makesure they are secured properly.
!Check the brakes.
!Checkbatterycharge.
Ifyoudiscoveraproblem, contact your authorised Pride Provider for assistance.
TYRE INFLATION
Ifyourscooteris equippedwithpneumatic tyres,youshouldcheckorhavetheair pressurecheckedatleastoncea
week.Properinflationpressureswillprolongthelifeofyourtyresandhelpensurethesmoothoperationofyourscooter.
WARNING! It is critically important thatthe psi/bar/kPa air pressure indicated on each tyre
be maintained in pneumatic tyres at all times. Do not underinflate or overinflate your tyres.
Low pressure may result in loss of control, and overinflated tyres may burst. Failure to
maintain the psi/bar/kPa air pressure raiting indicated on pneumatic tyres at all times may
result in tyre and/or wheel failure.
WARNING! Inflate your Travel Scooter tyres from a regulated air source with an available
pressure gauge. Inflating your tyres from an unregulated air source could overinflate them,
resulting in a burst tyre.
WARNING! When changing a tyre, remove only the centre lug nut, then remove the wheel.
If any further disassembly is required, deflate the tyre completely or it may explode.
NOTE: If tyres on your Travel Scooter list the psi raiting only, use the following conversion formulas to
find the bar or kPa rating: bar=psi x 0.06895, kPa= psi x 6.89476.
WEIGHT LIMITATIONS
YourTravelScooteris ratedforamaximum weightcapacity.Refertothe specificationstableforinformation.
MANDATORY! Stay within the specified weight capacity of your Travel Scooter. Exceeding
the weight capacity voids the warranty. Pride will not be held responsible for injuries and/
or property damage resulting from failure to observe weight limitations.
WARNING! Do not carry passengers on your Travel Scooter. Carrying passengers on your
Travel Scooter may affect the centre of gravity, resulting in a tip or a fall.
INCLINE INFORMATION
Moreand more buildings haverampswith specified degrees ofinclination,designed for easy andsafeaccess.
Somerampsmay have turning switchbacks (180-degree turns) thatrequireyoutohavegoodcorneringskills on
yourTravelScooter.
!Proceedwithextremecautionasyouapproachthedowngradeofarampor other incline.
!Take wide swingswithyourTravelScooter aroundanytightcorners.If you dothat,theTravelScooter’s rear
wheelswillfollowa widearc,notcutthecornershortand notbumpintoorget hunguponanyrailingcorners.
!Whendriving down a ramp,keeptheTravelScooter’s speed adjustment set totheslowest speed setting to
ensurea safely controlleddescent.
!Avoid sudden stops andstarts.

Whenclimbinganincline,trytokeepyourTravelScootermoving.Ifyoumuststop,startupagainslowlyandthen
acceleratecautiously.Whendriving down an incline,doso by setting thespeed adjustment dial totheslowest
settinganddrivingintheforwarddirectiononly.IfyourTravelScooterstartsto movedownthe inclinefasterthan
youanticipatedordesired,allowittocometoacomplete stopbyreleasingthethrottle controllever.Thenpushthe
throttlecontrol leverforwardslightly toensureasafely controlleddescent.
WARNING! When climbing an incline, do not zigzag or drive at an angle up the face
of the incline. Drive your Travel Scooter straight up the incline. This greatly reduces
the possibility of a tip or a fall. Always exercise extreme caution when negotiating
an incline.
WARNING! Do not drive your Travel Scooter across the side of an incline or
diagonally up or down an incline; do not stop, if possible, while driving up or down
an incline.
WARNING! You should not travel up or down a potentially hazardous incline (i.e.,
areas covered with snow, ice, cut grass or wet leaves).
WARNING! When on any sort of an incline or decline, never place the Travel
Scooter in freewheel mode while seated on it or standing next to it.
WARNING! Even though your Travel Scooter is capable of climbing slopes greater
than those illustrated in figure 1, do not, under any circumstances, exceed the
incline guidelines or any other specifications presented in this manual. Doing so
could cause instability in your Travel Scooter.
Handicap public access ramps are not subject to government regulation in all countries and therefore do not
necessarilysharethesamestandardpercentofslope.Otherinclines maybenatural or,ifman-made, notdesigned
specificallyforTravelScooters. Figure 1illustrates yourTravelScooter’sstabilityanditsability toclimbgrades
undervariousweightloadsandundercontrolledtestingconditions.
Thesetests were conducted withthe TravelScooter’sseat in thehighestposition and adjusted rearwardon the
seatbasetoitsfarthestrearwardposition.Usethisinformationasaguideline.YourTravelScooter’sabilitytotravel
upinclinesisaffectedbyyourweight,yourTravelScooter’sspeed,yourangleof approachtothe inclineandyour
TravelScootersetup.
WARNING! Any attempt to climb or descend a slope steeper than what is shown in figure
1 may put your Travel Scooter in an unstable position.
WARNING! Never carry an oxygen tank weighing more than 6 kg. Never fill the front or
rear basket with contents exceeding 6 kg.
