1 Description of the equipment
The recordDFA 127 (Full Power) isacompact, self-monitoring, microprocessor-
controlled swingdooroperator(abbreviated toDFA). Withitsmanyspecialand
additionalfunctions, it issuitableforaverywide application spectrum. The pathof
everydoormovement iscontrolled bythe microprocessor, whichevaluatesthe cur-
rent doorposition, the doorspeed and the finalposition at everyinstant and pre-
ciselycalculatesthe optimummotion. Thismakesthe familiarend-stops, jerky
brakingactions, creep speedsetc. unnecessary. Dependingon the doorwidth, the
correspondingspringrangemust be selected inthe rangeofEN4toEN6(accord-
ingtoEuropean NormEN1154). Safetyisalsoadditionallyincreased bythe useof
aredundant forcelimitation.
Lowenergydrive(LowEnergy)
Inthe parameterisation ofthe LowEnergydoortype, the DFA actsasan automatic
lowenergyoperator. The openingand closingspeedsarelimited and the operator
ismoresensitiveincaseofacollision. The closingaction takesplaceusingspring
forceand reduced kineticenergy. Toprevent unintentionalormaliciousmodifica-
tionstothe program, useraccess tothe parametersisblocked.
The set valuesforthe permitted speedsareindicated inDIN18650-2. Theyare
calculated dependingion the weight ofthe doorleafand the widthofthe door.
1.1 Types of arms, including accessories
The powertransmission fromthe motorisation unit tothe doorleafiscarried out by
aset ofarms. Dependingon the installation situation, the optimalsolution can be
selected fromtwodifferent typesofarms(standardorslide arm). Standardarms
areavailableindifferent lengthsforvariouslinteldepths. Byusingoptionalexten-
sion pieces, so-called adaptors, different lintelheightscan be compensated.
1.2 Accessories and special applications forthe DFA127
5operationalmodescan be remotelyselected withthe externalBDE-D, whichis
availableasaflush-mounted orsurface-mounted model.
Master/ Slave
Inthe Master/ Slaveoperation, twoDFA 127 can be sequentiallycontrolled without
additionalmechanicaldoorlockingsystems.
Not suitableforfireprotection doors!
Extendedoperator casing
The installation ofadditionalsensordevicesispossibleusingan extended operator
casing.
Flexiblecableconnection
Withthe flexiblecableconnection, the wiringofDFAsthat aremounted on the
movingdoorleafcan be carried out inan elegant manner.

The DFA 127 hasbeen constructed tothe latest state-of-the-art and the recog-
nised technicalsafetyregulations, including, forexample, limitation offorcesand
speeds. Dangercan ariseforusers, however, ifnot used asintended.
Installation, maintenanceand repairson the DFA 127 mayonlybe car-
ried out byqualified and authorised personnel.
2.1 Use as intended
The DFA 127 swingdooroperatorisdesigned exclusivelyforthe normaloperation
ofswingdoorsindryrooms, and must be installed withinorinside buildings.
Anydifferent application oruseextendingbeyond thispurposeisnot considered to
be useforthe intended purpose. The manufacturerdeclinesall responsibilityfor
anydamageresultingfromthis; the operatoralone will bearthe associated risk.
Useforthe intended purposealsoincludesobservation ofthe operatingconditions
specified bythe manufacturer, includingthe useand adjustment ofthe correct type
ofarms, inaddition toregularmaintenanceand repair.
Unauthorised modificationstothe automaticdooroperatorwill exclude anyliability
ofthe manufacturerforresultingdamage.
2.2 General safetyand accident-prevention regulations
Ingeneral,no safetydevices(sensors)maybe dismantled orputoutof
service.
The safetydevices(sensors)areswitched off duringthe learningcycle
(whichmustonlybe performed bytrained personnel)!Beforeinitiating
the learningcycle,itmustthereforebe ensured thatno personsorob-
jectsaresituated inthe dangerzone ofthe movingdoorleavesduring
operation inordertoavoidinjuryordamage!
Noobjectsmust be placed inthe openingzone / pathofthe swingdoor
toavoidcrushingand shearingpoints!
The safeguardagainst crushingand shearingstrainsat the side edge
must be provided bythe manufacturer.

4.2 Functions
The recordDFA127 hasbeen designed toclosewithoutelectricalpower.It can be
easilyopened byhand and closesusingthe energystored inthe spring,withthe
motion damped bythe motoractingasagenerator.
Ifthe dooroperatorisconnected tothe mainspower,the openingand closing
movementswill be assisted bythe motor.
The followingfunctionsareprovided exclusivelyforthe safetyofthe user:
Collision detection: Ifthe doorstrikesan obstaclewhileopening,itstopsimme-
diatelyand storesthe position of the impact. Duringthe timedelay,the drivebriefly
triestoreachthe open position.Oncethe timedelayhasexpired,the doorcloses,
and,when nextopened,the doorpassesthe impactposition verycarefullyinslow
mode. Thispreventsafurtherviolent impact.
Reversing: Ifthe doorstrikesan obstaclewhen closing,itisreopened immedi-
ately.

6 Leveradaptersforarms
The leveradaptersarethe joiningelementsbetween the operatordriveshaft and
the armlever. Theyalsoserveasextension piecestocompensateheight differ-
encesbetween the operatorand the connectortothe arms. A leveradapter20 is
included ineachdelivery.

Adjustment possibilities forarms
10.1
Angle adjustment
The serration ofthe leveladaptorallowsastep-by-step adjustment ofthe angle
(6°).
CAUTION:Theconnecting screw
betweentheoperator and thelever
arm mustbetightenedfirmly,and
mustbecheckedconstantly.
Itisrecommendedtotightentheconnecting screwafterthefinal adjustment.
9.2 Length adjustment
The lengthofthe standardarmscan be adjusted inacertainrangeforoptimalfit
tothe linteldepth. The twomarked screwstherebyhavetobe loosened witha
5mm Allen key. The profilemust be relocated toset the levertoan angleofabout
90°tothe doorleaf.
CAUTION:All screwedconnectionsmustbefirmlytightened!
Tolowerthe initialload, the leverarmcan be adjusted at an angleof6°inthe
counterrotation senseofthe opening.

11.1 Checking the installation site
•Doesthe doorleafmoveeasilyoveritsentireswingrange?
•Doesthe doorleafdrop cleanlyintothe lock?
•Haveall dampingdevicesbeen removed (not simplyreset)?
•Isthe baseon whichthe DFA 127 istobe mounted sufficientlystable? The
chassismust lieasflat aspossible. Coarseunevenness must be cleared or
the bearingarea must be made morepowerfulorbe strengthened bymeans
ofadditionalplates.
11.2 Positioning the DFAand arm
•Markthe drillingpositionson the templateaccordingtothe type ofinstalla-
tion, the mountingplateand the arm
•Fixthe templatetothe correspondingposition
•Drill the boreholes.Afterthe firstboreholethe chassiscan be used astem-
plate
11.3 Mechanical installation of the DFA
The casingmust not be opened ordisassembled due tothe possibility
ofinjuriescaused byspringtensionsbeingsuddenlyreleased.
•Dismount the powersupplyand geardriveunit ofthe operator
•Fixthe mountingplate, placethe cablesinposition and mount anyflexible
connections.

•Assemblyofthe ATMoperatormodule
•Fixthe NETmainssupplyand connect the connectorcablestothe STG con-
troller.
•Preparethe arms(referto: 10 Adjustment of the arms), fixthe armsincorrect
position withregardtothe DFA, screwthe armstothe doorleafsand adjust
the angle(90°)ofthe armstothe doorleaf

11.4 Adjustment of the initial spring tension (EN 4 to EN 6)
Dependingon the widthofthe doorleaves, the springforcemust be adjusted
correspondingtoEN1154 inthe rangeofEN4toEN6. The adjustment range
can be taken fromthe tableinchapter3.1based on the widthofthe doorleaf.
Wind loads, under/over-pressureand otherenvironmentalconditionsmust be
taken intoaccount duringthe adjustment.
The dooroperatorisset toaminimalspringforceon EN4inthe factory. Thisis
appropriatefordoorleafwidthsfrom950 to1100 mm.
Ifthe widthofthe doorleafis1,100 mm, forexample, an additionalmaximum
permissibledoorleafweight ofapprox. 160 kgcan be selected.
Turningthe adjustingscrew(SW13)
clockwiseincreasesthe initialspring
tension.
The whitemarkinginthe vision panel
relatestothe scaleunderneath.
•The correct settingofthe initial
springtension isnecessaryforthe
properopeningofthe doorwithout
the mainssupply.
•Anunsuitableinitial spring ten-
sion cancause malfunctions!
11.5 Checking the mechanical functions
•Arethe armsfixed at the correct angletothe doorleaf?(See chapter 10 Ad-
justment possibilitiesforthe arm)
•When moved byhand, doesthe doorleafmoveeasilyoveritsfull swing?
•Doesthe operatordampthe openingbyspringforce? Ifnot, the slide switch
position S1on the motorprint MOTmust be changed.
The switchposition isset accordingto
the direction ofrotation ofthe armwhile
closing. If, forexample, the arm
movesawaytothe left when closing,
the slide switchmust be set tothe left.
