On connecting the device, make sure the device is located at least one meter away from sources
of high frequence and magnetic disturbance(TV, Speaker, Mobile Telephone etc) in order tp
avoid data loss and operational problems.
Every time you update your data make back-up copies on the external storage medium. We do
not assume liability for data loss or damage to data storage unit, and no claims can be accepted
for daages resulting from loss of data or consequential losses.
Before you cleaning the device make sure all the plug is pulled out from connection cables. Do
not use any corrosive, solvents or gaseous cleaning product.

The way to install the HDD/MO
Please set the Device as "Master Device"
How to set the ATA/ATAPI as Master, please reference your HDD or MO
user guide Usually the device is set at "Master" mode when delivering from
Factory. But once device connected with computer, the setting is possible
changed. So this should be noticed.

(Attention) Thisis just an example, the exact setting of the HDD please
reference your HDD user's guide.
setting
1. Remove the rear panel and
take out the device frame.
The frame will slide
out while the rear panel is
taken off.
Carefully.
2. Connect IDE cable and power cable.
Caution:
Never insert power cable
on reverse, otherwise ,
drive may be fail. (Warranty
DOES not cover such damage)
3. Secure your HDD/MO drive on the
frame of the enclosure with the attached screws.
Flat head 6#6 screws are used for HDD.
Flat head M3*4 screws are used for MO.

4. Push the frame kit with device into the
3.5"aluminum case.
Aline the frame kit into the guide of case as
the right picture showing, and push the
frame kit slowly into the case.

The device needs to be set at " Master" (example) IBM HDD situation.

5. Using the attached two screws TP 3*8 to
secure the rear panel, and cover the screw
hole with the rubber for the screw hole.
6. If you like to use the enclosure at lying down position. Please! use the rubber
stand for lying down and assembly the rubber stand as the following figure.
7. If you like to use the enclosure at vertical position. Please! Use the rubber
stand for tand up and assembly the rubber stand as the following figure.

Using with the PC
1. Start your computer and wait until Windows has been loaded.
2. Turn on the power of enclosure. (The LED turns from orange to
green as soon as the device (HDD/MO) is ready)
3. Connect the USB or 1394 cable from the enclosure to corresponding
port of your computer.
4. Windows Me/2000/XP recognize the connected the enclosure automatically.
5. If you are using USB mode at the win98SE, you need to install the device driver.
Using the attached driver's CD and follow the instruction on the screen to install
the USB device driver. The driver software is located at the D:\USB20\WIN98,
which "D:" is the drive letter of CD-ROM drive which contain the device driver CD.
6. Before you unplug or turn off the power of enclosure while the
Windows is running, Please! Disable the connection from the "safe remove utility"
which is located at the task bar.

Using with the MAC's computer
1. Start your computer and wait until OS has bean loaded.
2. Turn on the power of enclosure. (The LED turns from orange to
green as soon as the device (HDD/MO) is ready)
3. Connect the USB or 1394 cable from the enclosure to the
corresponding port of your computer.
4. MAC recognizes the connected enclosure automatically.
5. Before you unplug or turn off the power of enclosure while the
MAC's computer is running, Please! Drag the icon into the trash before
remove the enclosure .

Partitioning the Hard Disk
With the Windows 2000/XP use the Disk Management program to install your disk.
This program is located at Computer Management. Please! Reference the following
figure.
With Windows 98SE/Me the hard disk is installed with the DOS program FDISK.EXE
Look WINDOWS help for detail on using the programs.
MCAUTION! Partitioning and formatting a disk drive will delete the data in the HDD.
We assume NO responsibility for lost data.
