1 Product Overview
1.1 Introduction to RG-RSR77-XA Series
The RG-RSR77-XA series router is a next-generation high-end distributed router
independently developed by Ruijie Networks. It provides dual supervisor modules and power
modules in redundancy mode. The RSR77-XA series modular router is available in RSR77-
XA-08 and RSR77-XA-03.
RG-RSR77-XA-08: provides dual supervisor module slots, eight line card slots, four switch
fabric module slots, four power module slots, and two fan module slots.
RG-RSR77-XA-03: provides dual supervisor module slots, three line card slots, four power
module slots, and one fan module slot.

1.2.2 Product Appearance
1. Appearance of the RG-RSR77-XA-08
The RG-RSR77-XA-08 consists of the chassis, power supply system, system modules,
and cooling system:
Power supply system: There are four system power module slots. The system power
modules work in N+M redundancy mode, which is recommended.
System modules: Two supervisor modules slots, eight line card slots, and four switch
fabric module slots are available. The supervisor modules support 1+1 redundancy. You
are advised to configure supervisor modules in redundancy mode. You can select
different modules as required.
Cooling system: The fan tray is located on the back of the chassis (front view).

Note
The weight is only for the empty chassis and fan modules. The device weight is calculated
based on card types.
The depth of the chassis with the cable management bracket refers to the dimension from
the cable management bracket of the front panel to the ejector lever of the supervisor
module that is correctly installed at the rear of the chassis.
Warning
The RG-RSR77-XA-08 is a Class A product. In a domestic environment, this product may
cause radio interference in which case the user may be required to take adequate measures.
1.2.4 Power Supply
The RG-RSR77-XA-08 providesAC or DC input:
AC input: RG-PA1600I power modules is available. This power modules support power
management. The supervisor module of the RG-RSR77-XA-08 can read power information
about power modules and enforce power management policies to flexibly and intelligently
manage the device power.
DC input: RG-PD600I power modules is available. This power module supports power
management. The supervisor module of the RG-RSR77-XA-08 can read power information
about power modules and enforce power management policies to flexibly and intelligently
manage the device power.
Note
The RG-RSR77-XA-08 supports power modules in N+M redundancy mode. To improve
system stability and reliability, you are advised to configure power module redundancy.
1.2.5 Heat Dissipation
The operating temperature of the RG-RSR77-XA-08 ranges between 0°C (32°F) and 45°C
(113°F). The thermal design must satisfy the requirement on the device's reliability in the
