1 HANDLINGPRECAUTIONS




• Before performng work, be sure to turn the power o󱐯. Performng the work wthout turnng the
power o󱐯 can cause an electrc shock or short crcut. In the case work should be performed
n the status of power on, ths manual always states to that e󱐯ect.
• To avod an electrc shock or short crcut, do not plug n or unplug quckly.
• To avod an electrc shock, do not plug n or unplug wth a wet hand.
• Do not expose power cords or earth wres on the surface, (oor, passage, etc.). If exposed, the
power cords and earth wres are susceptble to damage. Damaged cords and wres can cause
an electrc shock or short crcut.
• To avod causng a re or an electrc shock, do not put thngs on or damage the power cords.
• When or after nstallng the product, do not unnecessarly pull the power cord. If damaged, the
power cord can cause a re or an electrc shock.
• In case the power cord s damaged, ask for a replacement through where the product was
purchased from or the o󱐰ce heren stated. Usng the cord as s damaged can cause re, an
electrc shock or leakage.
• Be sure to perform groundng approprately. Inapproprate groundng can cause an electrc
shock.
• Be sure to use fuses meetng the speced ratng. Usng fuses exceedng the speced ratng can
cause a re or an electrc shock.
• Be sure that connectons such as IC BD are made properly. Insu󱐰cent nserton can cause an
electrc shock.
• Speccaton changes, removal of equpment, converson and/or addton, not desgnated by
SEGA are not permtted.
- Falure to observe ths may cause a re or an electrc shock. Non-complance wth ths nstructon
can have a bad nuence upon physcal condtons of the players or the onlookers, or result
n njury durng play.
- SEGA shall not be held responsble for damage, compensaton for damage to a thrd party,
caused by speccaton changes not desgnated by SEGA.
• If work or parts replacement not ndcated n ths manual s carred out, an accdent may occur.
If t s necessary to carry out work not ndcated n ths manual, be sure to have t done by the
o󱐰ce ndcated n ths manual or by the pont of purchase. Also, please nqure regardng

• For the IC board crcut nspectons, only the logc tester s allowed. The use of a
multple-purpose tester s not permtted, so be careful n ths regard.
• Statc electrcty from your body may damage some electroncs devces on the IC board.
Before handlng the IC board, touch a grounded metallc surface so that the statc
electrcty can be dscharged.
• Do not turn the power on and o󱐯 contnuously. Repeatedly turnng the power on and
o󱐯 may cause product malfuncton or parts damage.
• Some parts are not desgned and manufactured speccally for ths game machne. The
manufacturers may dscontnue, or change the speccatons of such general-purpose
parts. If ths s the case, SEGA cannot repar or replace a faled game machne whether
or not a warranty perod has expred.

PRECAUTIONS REGARDING INSTALLATION LOCATION

Ths product s an ndoor game machne. Do not nstall t outsde. Even ndoors, avod nstallng n places
mentoned below so as not to cause a re, electrc shock, njury and/or malfuncton.
- Places subject to ran or water leakage, or places subject to hgh humdty n the proxmty of an ndoor
swmmng pool and/or shower, etc.
- Places subject to drect sunlght, or places subject to hgh temperatures n the proxmty of heatng unts,
etc.
- Places lled wth nammable gas or vcnty of hghly nammable/volatle chemcals or hazardous matter.
- Dusty places.
- Sloped surfaces.
- Places subject to any type of volent mpact.
- Vcnty of ant-dsaster facltes such as re exts and re extngushers.
- Areas where the temperature exceeds the applcable temperature (ambent temperature) range
of 5 to 30 degrees centgrade.

Be sure to check the Electrcal Speccatons. Ensure that ths product s compatble wth the locaton’ s power
supply, voltage, and frequency requrements. A plate descrbng Electrcal Speccatons s attached to the
product. Non-complance wth the Electrcal Speccatons can cause a re and electrc shock.
Ths product requres a breaker and earth mechansm as part of the locaton facltes. Usng the product
wthout these can cause a re and electrc shock.
Ensure that the ndoor wrng for the power supply s rated at 15 A or hgher (AC sngle phase 100 V ~ 120 V
area), and 7 A or hgher (AC 220 V ~ 240 V area). Non-complance wth the Electrcal Speccatons can cause a
re and electrc shock.
Be sure to use an ndependent power supply equpped wth an earth leakage breaker. Usng a power supply
wthout an earth leakage breaker can cause an outbreak of re f a power surge occurs.
Puttng many loads on one electrcal outlet can cause generaton of heat and a re resultng from overload.
When usng an extenson cord, ensure that the cord s rated at 15 A or hgher (AC 100 V ~ 120 V area) and
7A or hgher (AC 220 V ~ 240 V area). Usng a cord rated lower than the speced ratng can cause a re and
electrc shock.

In order to avod accdents, check the followng before startng the operaton:
• To ensure maxmum safety for the players and the customers, ensure that where
the product s operated has su󱐰cent lghtng to allow any warnngs to be read.
Operaton under nsu󱐰cent lghtng can cause bodly contact wth each other,
httng accdent, and/or trouble between customers.
• Be sure to perform approprate adjustment of the vsual dsplay unt.
For operaton of ths machne, do not leave dsplay's ckerng or devaton as s.
Falure to observe ths can have a bad nuence upon the players' or the customers'
physcal condtons.
• It s suggested to ensure a space allowng the players who feel sck whle playng the
game to take a rest.
• Do not put any heavy tem on ths product. Placng any heavy tem on the product
can cause a fallng down accdent or parts damage.
• Do not clmb on the product. Clmbng on the product can cause fallng down
accdents. To check the top porton of the product, use a step ladder.
• To avod electrc shock, check to see f door & cover parts are damaged or omtted.
• To avod electrc shock, short crcut and/or parts damage, do not put the followng
tems on or n the perphery of the product.
Flower vases, owerpots, cups, water tanks, cosmetcs, and receptacles/contaners/
vessels contanng chemcals and water.

• To avod njury, be sure to provde su󱐰cent space by consderng the potentally
crowded stuaton at the nstallaton locaton. Insu󱐰cent nstallaton space can cause
contact, collsons, and/or trouble between customers.
• Every day when cleanng the gun, nspect the gun and make sure that there are no
scratches or cracks n the surface, and that the fastenng screws are not loose. If the
game s played wth scratches, cracks or loose screws, t can cause njures to the
player or to people nearby.
Ensure that all connecting wires are
not damaged.
Ensure that the screws are not loose and are all present.
Ensure that the casing is free of
scratches and cracks.
Ensure that the trigger is
functioning properly.
• Players drectly hold the controller wth ther bare hands so t s recommended that
wet towels (paper towels) be provded.
• Placng the LCD montor near halogen lamps or other types of lght xtures whch
emt strong lght may cause a malfuncton. Make sure to nstall the montor at a
reasonable dstance from such sources of lght.


• For safety reasons, do not allow any of the followng people to play the game.
- Those who need assstance such as the use of apparatus when walkng.
- Those who have hgh blood pressure or a heart problem.
- Those who have experenced muscle convulson or loss of conscousness when
playng vdeo games, etc.
- Those who have neck or spnal cord problems.
- Those who are ntoxcated or under the nuence of drugs.
- Pregnant women.
- Those who are not n good health.
- Those who do not follow the attendant’ s nstructons.
- Those who cannot grasp the Control Unt securely because of mmoblty n ngers,
hands or arms.
- Persons who dsregard the product's warnng dsplays.
• Even players who have never been adversely a󱐯ected by lght stmulus mght
experence dzzness or headache dependng on ther physcal condton when
playng the game. Small chldren are especally lkely to experence these symptoms.
Cauton guardans of small chldren to keep watch on ther chldren durng play.
• Instruct those who feel sck durng play to have a medcal examnaton.
• To avod njury from falls and electrc shocks due to splled drnks, nstruct the player
not to place heavy tems or drnks on the product.
• To avod electrc shocks and short crcuts, do not allow customers to put hands and
ngers or extraneous matter n the openngs of the product or small openngs n or
around the doors.
• To avod falls and resultng njury, mmedately stop the customer from leanng
aganst or clmbng on the product, etc.
• To avod electrc shock and short crcut, do not allow customers to unplug the power
plug wthout a justable reason.
• Immedately stop such volent acts as httng and kckng the product. Such volent
acts can cause parts damage or cause the cabnet to fall over, resultng n njury.
• Instruct players to hold the gun securely whle playng. If the gun s dropped, t could
cause njury to the player.
• Items such as large nger rngs can cause njury to the ngers whle playng. Instruct
players to remove all accessores that could cause an accdent before playng.
• Instruct players that a sngle gun s never to be held by two or more people durng
play. Otherwse there could be dangerous contact or a collson.

• Perform assemblng as per ths manual. Snce ths s a complex machne, ncorrect
assemblng can cause an electrc shock, machne damage and/or mproper
functonng as per speced performance.
• When assemblng, more than one person s requred. Dependng on the assembly work,
there are some cases n whch workng by one person alone can cause personal
njury or parts damage.
• Ensure that connectors are properly connected. Improper connectons can cause
electrc shock.
• Be careful not to damage the wres. Damaged wres may cause electrc shock or short
crcut or present a rsk of re.
• Do not carelessly push on the montor. Ths could cause t to fall over.
• Provde suffcent space so that assemblng can be performed. Performng work n
places wth narrow space or low celng may cause an accdent and assembly work
to be d󱐰cult.
• To perform work safely and avod serous accdent such as the cabnet fallng down, do
not perform work n places where step-lke grade d󱐯erences, a dtch, or slope exst.
• Do not use connectors other than those connected to and used by the game board at
the tme of shpment. Do not connect wres to unused connectors. Ths could cause
the generaton of heat or smoke, or a burnout.

• Wear approprate work clothng so that work can be performed safely. Use gloves and
safety shoes to prevent accdents or njures.
• When nstallng a wre protecton cover over a oor, use a materal shaped so that no
one passng by wll stumble over t. Usng a materal that could be stumbled over
mght lead to an accdental fall.
• Be careful n handlng plastc parts. Be sure not to tghten screws or nuts too tghtly. If
such parts are exposed to excessve loads or mpact, they mght become damaged,
resultng n fragments or cracks that could cause accdental njury.

Be sure to ground the adjusters, and secure the product rmly to the installation
location. If the cabinet moves either during assembly work or during operation
after the completion of assembly, a serious accident may occur.

6.2 ConnectionofPowerandGround
• Use the power supply equpped wth an earth leakage breaker. Use of power supply
wthout such a breaker could result n re f there s a current leakage.
• Ths product MUST be EARTHED. Usng ths product wthout a sutable earth wll cause
electrc shock and possbly cause a re hazzard.
• Do not expose the power cords. If these are exposed, customers could stumble over
them, for nstance, and easly damage them. Addtonally, f these lnes are damaged,
there could be a rsk of electrcal shock or short crcut. Set these lnes at locatons
where they wll not nterfere wth customer tra󱐰c, or attach covers to them.
• After layng out the power cord on the oor, be sure to always protect t. If the power
cord s left exposed, t can easly be damaged, resultng n electrcal shock.
• Ths product comes complete wth POWER CORDS for the UK and EUROPEAN
destnatons. Be sure to use the power cords suppled. If a power cord s to be
replaced, be sure to replace t wth the same speccaton as the one provded.






