GEFAHR
Gefahr der Unwirksamkeit der Schutzeinrichtung
Der Gefahr bringende Zustand der Maschine wird bei Nichtbeachtung möglicherweise
nicht oder nicht rechtzeitig beendet.
Die Einstrahl-Sicherheits-Lichtschranke ist nur in Verbindung mit einer externen Testein‐
richtung eine berührungslos wirkende Schutzeinrichtung Typ 2 nach IEC 61496-1 und
IEC 61496-2.
bDie Sicherheitsinformationen der Schutzeinrichtung und der externen Testeinrich‐
tung beachten.
Die Einstrahl-Sicherheits-Lichtschranke ist unter anderem für nachfolgende Verwendun‐
gen nicht geeignet:
•Im Freien
•Unter Wasser
•In explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen
•In Umgebungen mit erhöhter ionisierender Strahlung

mentation oder die Betriebsanleitung der Schutzeinrichtung. Sie finden die EU-Konfor‐

GEFAHR
Gefahr der Unwirksamkeit der Schutzeinrichtung
Zu schützende Personen und Körperteile werden bei Nichtbeachtung möglicherweise
nicht oder nicht rechtzeitig erkannt.
bDie berechneten Mindestabstände für die Maschine beachten, siehe Betriebsan‐
leitung.
bEinstrahl-Sicherheits-Lichtschranke so montieren, dass keine Person den Licht‐
strahl unterqueren oder überqueren oder die Schutzeinrichtung seitlich passieren
kann.
bSender und Empfänger mit geeigneten Befestigungswinkeln montieren. Die Befes‐
tigungswinkel sind als Zubehör bei SICK erhältlich.
bAnschließend Sender und Empfänger aufeinander ausrichten.

1 About this document
This document applies to all L25 and L26 single-beam photoelectric safety switch.
2 Safety information
DANGER
Hazard due to lack of effectiveness of the protective device
In the case of non-compliance, it is possible that the dangerous state of the machine
may not be stopped or not stopped in a timely manner.
The single-beam photoelectric safety switch is a Type 2 electro-sensitive protective
device (ESPE) in accordance with IEC 61496-1 and IEC 61496-2 only In conjunction
with an external test device.
bObserve the safety information of the protective device and the external test
device.
Among others, the single-beam photoelectric safety switch is not suitable for the follow‐
ing applications:
•Outdoors
•Underwater
•In explosion-hazardous areas
•In environments with increased levels of ionizing radiation

4 Mounting
DANGER
Hazard due to lack of effectiveness of the protective device
Persons or parts of the body to be protected may not be recognized or not recognized in
time in case of non-observance.
bTake the minimum distances calculated for the machine into account; see the
operating instructions.
bMount single-beam photoelectric safety switch in such a way that nobody can pass
under the light beam or pass by the side of the protective device.
bMount the sender and receiver with suitable mounting brackets. The mounting
brackets are available as an accessory from SICK.
bAfter that, align the sender and receiver with each other.
