1.) Normen
2) Allgemeine Information
Das PEANUT dient in Verbindung mit einem Auffanggurt ausschließlich
zur Absicherung von Personen, die während Ihrer Arbeit der Gefahr
eines Absturzes ausgesetzt sind (z. B. auf Leitern, Dächern, Gerüsten,
usw.).
FUNKTION:
Das PEANUT begrenzt die bei einem Absturz entstehende Energie auf
ein körperverträgliches Maß. Das PEANUT ist nach einer Sturzbela-
stung nicht mehr verwendbar! Die jährliche Prüfung sollte von einem
Sachkundigen nach BGG 906 durchgeführt werden.
PEANUT anlegen (vgl. Abb. 1):
1. Verbindungselement (1) ausschließlich in Auffangöse am Auffanggurt
einhaken.
2. Gegenüberliegendes Verbindungselement (2) an einem sicheren
Anschlagpunkt befestigen.
Das PEANUT (3) darf nicht behindert werden und darf keinesfalls über
Kanten oder Umlenkungen geführt werden. Sicherheitskarabiner und/
oder Verbindungselemente müssen in jedem Fall vor Quer- und Knick-
belastung geschützt werden. Das PEANUT darf nicht verlängert oder
im Schnürgang verwendet werden.

3.1) Es dürfen nur ausreichend tragfähige Anschlagpunkte (mind. 3kN)
verwendet werden, die sich mind. 40 cm unter dem Handlauf befinden.
Bei Verwendung von höher gelegenen AP an dem Arbeitskorb ist die si-
chere Funktion des Höhensicherungsgerätes nicht mehr gewährleistet.
3.2) Der Anschlagpunkt, sowie die komplette Hubarbeitsbühne im un-
güstigst ausgezogenen Fall, müssen einen dynamischen Stoß von mind.
3kN ohne Beeinträchtigung aufnehmen können. Liegt der AP höher,
besteht Gefahr auf Vollversagen und Umkippen!
3.3) Verletzungen durch das Aufprallen auf den Arbeitskorb oder dem
Ausleger können nicht ausgeschlossen werden.
4.) Verwendung
4.1) Vor der Benutzung ist eine Funktionsüberprüfung durchzuführen.
Hierzu das Seil ruckartig aus dem Gerät herausziehen. Die Schnäpper
müssen sofort einrasten. Bei Zweifeln hinsichtlich des sicheren Zustan-
des des PEANUT ist dieses sofort der Benutzung zu entziehen.
4.2) Die Einstellung der Länge sollte nicht im absturzgefährdeten Bereich
erfolgen.
4.3) Die Gesamtlänge eines mit einem PEANUT verbundenen
Verbindungsmittels, (einschließlich Endverbindungen und Verbindungs-
elementen) beachten.
4.4) Die in das Bauwerk eingeleitete Kraft entspricht max. 6kN.

4.5) Schlaffseil vermeiden.
4.6)Der Anschlagpunkt sollte sich möglichst senkrecht über der
Arbeitsstelle befinden.
Befindet sich der Anschlagpunkt unterhalb, so besteht im Falle eines
Sturzes die Gefahr des Aufschlagens auf tiefer gelegene Bauteile.
Befindet sich der Anschlagpunkt seitlich, so besteht die Gefahr des
Aufschlagens an seitliche Bauteile.
Die Höhe des Anschlagpunktes und der benötigte Bodenfreiraum muss
in jedem Fall ausreichend bemessen werden um die Wirksamkeit des
Systems zu gewährleisten (vgl. Abb. 2):
Bremsstrecke des PEANUTs (vgl. Δl, Abb. 2)
+ Ausgangslänge des Verbindungsmittel (vgl. l, Abb. 3)
+ Körperlänge (vgl. x, Abb. 2)
+ Sicherheitsabstand (ca. 1m, vgl. Abb. 2)
+ ggf. Dehnung der Anschlageinrichtung (z. B. EN 795 B/C, vgl. Ge-
brauchsanleitung des Herstellers)
Den PEANUT nicht als Halteseil verwenden, d. h. sich nicht an ihm
festhalten und hochziehen.
5.) Kanten Eignung
DAS PEANUT wurde nach dem Prüfgrundsatz für PSA gegen Absturz
zur Verwendung in Arbeitskörben von fahrbaren Hubarbeitsbühnen ei-
nem Doppelscharfkant-Test unterzogen.
Weiterhin wurde mit einem Stahlstab (Radius r = 0,5 mm ohne Grat)
für den horizontalen Einsatz und einem daraus resultierenden Sturz
über eine scharfe Kante getestet. Auf Grundlage dieses Tests ist es
geeignet zur Verwendung über ähnliche Kanten.
Ungeachtet dieser Prüfung muss bei horizontalem oder schrägem Ein-
satz auf folgendes geachtet werden, falls die Gefahr eines Sturzes über
eine Kante besteht:
1. Wenn die Risikobewertung zeigt, dass die Kante besonders „scharf“
und / oder „nicht frei von Graten“ ist, dann:
a. schließen Sie aus, dass ein Sturz über eine Kante
stattfinden kann oder
b. bringen Sie einen Kantenschutz an
2. Der Anschlagpunkt des PEANUT darf nicht unterhalb des Stand-
levels des Benutzers sein.
3. Die Umlenkung an der Kante muss mind. 90 ° betragen.
4. Um einen Pendelsturz zu vermeiden, sollte der Arbeitsbereich und
die seitliche Bewegungsfreiheit von der Mittelachse auf max.1,50m
begrenzt sein. In anderen Fällen sollte kein einzelner Anschlagpunkt
verwendet werden, sondern eine Klasse C oder D Anschlageinrichtung
nach EN 795.

Instructions for use
1.) Standards
2.) General information
The PEANUT, used in combination with a safety harness, is intended
solely to protect persons who are at risk of falling (e.g. off ladders,
roofs, scaffolding, etc.) while carrying out their work.
Before using a functional test shall be performed. Pull the rope jerked
out of the machine. The snapper must snap immediately. Any doubt
about the safe state of the blok use shall be withdrawn immediately.
Function:
The PEANUT limits the energy generated during a fall to an amount that
can be withstood by the body. Once used to arrest an actual fall, the
PEANUT may not be used subsequently!
The annual inspection has to be performed by a competent person
according to BGG 906 (i.e. country regulations for ppe inspection).
Attaching the PEANUT (see Fig. 1):
1. Hook fastening element (1) exclusively in fall arrest eyelet of the
safety harness. 2. Attach opposite fastening element (2) to a secure
anchor point. Ensure that the PEANUT (3) is not impeded and that it
does not run over edges or around bends. Safety karabiners and/or
fastening elements must always be protected from lateral and bending
pressures. The PEANUT may not be extended or used for tying.

3.) Use in aerial work platforms
3.1) Use only anchor points with adequate load capacity (at least 3
kN) that are mounted at least 40 cm below the handrail. When using
higher anchor points a safe operation is no longer guaranteed.
3.2) The anchor point, and the entire platform extended in the unfa-
vorable case must be able to accommodate a dynamic surge of at least
3 kN without interference. If the AP is higher, there is danger to full
failure and upset!
3.3) violations by the impact on the working cage or the boom can not
be excluded.
4.) Use
4.1) Before using the device, a functional test must be performed. For
that, pull the rope jerkily from the device. The catches must engage
immediately. In case of any doubt in regards to the safe condition of the
PEANUT, immediately remove it from any further use.
4.2) The length should not be adjusted in an area with risk of falling.
4.3) Please note the overall length of a fastener attached to an
PEANUT (including terminations and fastening elements).
4.4) The maximum forces initiated into the structure in the event of
a fall is max. 6kN.
4.5) Avoid slack rope.
4.6) The anchor point should be perpendicular above the workplace. If
the anchor point is beneath the workplace, a fall may result in hitting
lower lying parts. If the anchor point is on the side, a fall may result in
hitting lateral parts. The height of the anchor point and the required
ground clearance must be appropriate in any case to ensure the effec-
tiveness of the system (see Figure 2):

+ safety distance (approx. 1 m ‒ see Figure 2)
+ Any stretch of the anchor device (e.g. EN 795 B/C, see instruction

manual of manufacturer). Do not use the PEANUT as tether, i.e. do not
hold on to or pull yourself up on the PEANUT.
5.) Edge suitability
The PEANUT was subjected after the basic principle for personal fall
protection equipment for use in work baskets of mobile aerial work
platforms to a double sharp edge test.
Furthermore, it has been tested with a steel bar (radius r = 0.5 mm
with no burs) for horizontal use and a resulting fall over an
edge. On the basis of this test, the PEANUT is suitable for use over
similar edges.
Notwithstanding this test, the following must be taken into account
with a horizontal or oblique use where
there is a risk of falling over an edge:
1. If the risk assessment carried out before the start of work shows
that the fall edge is a particularly “sharp” and/or “not free from burs”
edge, then
o you need to rule out the risk of falling over an edge or
o an edge protection should be mounted
2. The anchor point for the PEANUT may not be below the user’s stand
level
3. The deflection at the edge must be at least 90°
4. To prevent a pendulum fall, the working area and lateral movements
from the median axis on both sides should be limited in each case to a
max. of 1.50m. In other cases, no individual anchor points should be
used but rather a Class C or D anchor device pursuant to EN 795.
