Carry out a visual inspection of the roller plates, wheels and axles
for damage, malfunction and legibility of their markings in order to
ensure that all moving parts are able to move correctly. Extreme
temperatures and the effects of chemicals such as rust, cracks and
signs of wear and tear can impair the safety of the product. If a
check raises any uncertainties regarding the device‘s safety, or if a
fall from a height has occurred, the device must be taken out of use

Thelifespanofareeldependsontheextenttowhichandhowit
was used, as well as how it has been maintained, and can be more
than 5 years. With prolonged use in harsh conditions, e.g. dust,
sand and mud, the intervals between material checks must be
shortened and the lifespan of the device may also be reduced.

must be positioned so that the system‘s freedom of movement and
the fall path are not impaired and it is protected from transverse
and buckling loads. Work as closely as possible to the anchor point
(max. 1.5 m perpendicular to the anchor point viewed in both
directions along the fall edge) in order to avoid injuries from a
swingingfall(g.2.6).Whenthisproductisusedinenvironments

people over bulk goods or other similar materials you can sink into
(Fig. 3.6).
Only body harnesses compliant with EN 361:2002, CSA Z259.10,
ANSI/ASSE Z359.1-2007 are approved for use with retractable fall
arresters (Fig. 2.7) (other harnesses are not permitted, Fig. 3.7).
