PCS-XG80
1080 High Definition Video Conferencing System
Overview
This versatile, easy to use Video Conferencing system is ideal for general business communications as well as
distance learning.
The compact, mainstream videoconferencing system includes a High Definition PTZ camera with new 'BrightFace'
by Sony. You'll enjoy crisp images in any lighting conditions based on Sony image sensor technology – even dimly lit
rooms where a projector's being used. Superb picture quality is partnered by clear, echo-free stereo audio so every
participant can be seen and heard clearly.
Also included are an HD video codec unit, two microphones for stereo and a HDMI cable for easy connection to a
video monitor, TV or display.
Set-up and operation are refreshingly straightforward. The supplied remote commander allows easy one-touch
dialling from your contacts list. Conference participants can share smooth, clear video and voice together with
presentations from your PC. A choice of screen layout options makes it easy to configure video conferencing and
PC data displays just the way you want to. Voice-activated switching automatically detects who's speaking,
displaying their picture as the main image alongside smaller images of other participants.
Optional software makes multi-point conferences are just as simple. The PCS-XG80 can be configured to
communicate with up to five remote sites, including a mix of IP and ISDN connections. In addition, two main units
can be cascaded to support a maximum of ten sites.
PCS-XG80 1
Features
High quality HD images
Make every conference more productive with clear, natural High Definition video images at up to 1920 x
1080 (Full HD) resolution. BrightFace technology by Sony optimises image brightness, lightening shadows and
darkening too-bright areas. You'll enjoy a clear view of each presenter, even in dimly lit conference rooms
or with strong backlighting.
•
Superb audio quality
Conferences are more natural and lifelike with crisp, clear stereo sound. The built-in echo canceller makes
speech even more natural-sounding and easier to follow.
•
Smooth, natural video and data presentations
Send video, voice and presentation data displayed on your PC to other videoconferencing participants.
With support for industry standards (ITU-T H.239), presentation data can be sent at frame rates as high as
30fps for smooth, natural-looking presentations – even when you're using animation effects or showing
videos on your PC.
•
Easy multi-point conferences
Using optional MCU software, the PCS-XG80 can be configured to communicate with up to five remote
videoconferencing sites (six sites total) simultaneously, using any mix of IP or ISDN connections. Two PCS-
XG80 units – each installed with the optional MCU software – can also be cascaded with an IP connection
to support a maximum of ten sites.
•
Continuous Presence mode with Voice Activation Switching
See everyone clearly with support for four-screen as well as six-screen continuous-presence modes. Voice
Activated Switching automatically displays the active speaker on the largest sub screen alongside other
participants, or can display the current speaker in full-screen mode.
•
Stable, consistent conferencing
Enjoy stable transmission of HD video, voice and data with Enhanced Intelligent QoS™ (Quality of Service)
Functions that ensure fast, consistent data throughput that adapts transmission to take account of changing
network conditions.
•
Highly secure
Keep your business private, just the way it should be. Support for 128-bit AES encryption ensures safe, highly
secure voice/video/data conferences with other compliant systems.
•
Easy usability with Video Annotation
Add an optional tablet/pen interface to sketch notes and highlight your point clearly on shared data
presentations.
•
Versatile display layout options
Configure screen layout from a choice of display modes to display video and presentation data: Full
Screen, Picture-in-Picture, Picture-and-Picture or Side-by-Side split screen.
•
Easy setup and operation
Enjoy simple operation and control with the attractive, intuitive on-screen interface.
•
One-touch Dialling
•
PCS-XG80 2
Enjoy the speed and convenience of one-touch dialling with the newly designed RF Remote Commander
unit that does not have to be pointed directly towards the system. Just browse and select from the
thumbnail image any of up to 1000 stored contacts: up to four regularly-accessed contacts can be shown
on the home screen.
Fuss-free one-cable connection
The supplied HDMI cable allows easy connection to any HDMI-equipped video monitor, TV or display. Audio
and video are both transferred via a single connection, minimising set-up and cutting cable clutter.
•
Easily switch between LAN and WAN connections
Dual network interfaces allow easy switching between office-base LAN and WAN connections – saving time
if you need to use the system both within an intranet environment and over the public Internet. Multi-point
connections can also be made between LAN and WAN environments.
•
Backwards compatibility with SD video conferencing systems
Seamlessly integrate the PCS-XG80 with your existing Standard Definition video conferencing environment –
allowing easy migration from SD to HD in line with your business needs.
•
Compact, stylish design
The light, space-saving PCS-XG80 fits neatly into boardrooms, medium-sized and smaller meeting rooms as
well as classrooms and teaching suites.
