A. Base Caps
1. Turn chair upside down and remove base
retainer clip.
2. Remove screws then remove cap from bottom
of base. Slide old base cap down hub tube by
pushing in the center.
3. Carefully lift base assembly off chair, then slide
old base cap off the hub tube.
4. To install new base cap, reassemble in reverse
order and re-install screws.

B. Casters
1. To remove casters, strike with rubber mallet as
shown in figure below. Insert new casters.

C. Pneumatic Cylinder
1. Turn chair upside down and place on clean
padded work bench.
2. Remove and discard base retaining clip from
the bottom of the chair base and carefully lift base
up and off the chair.
3. Remove bearing, rubber cushion and washer
from the end of the pneumatic cylinder and discard.
4. Using the 3/16" flat bladed screwdriver, pry the
pneumatic cylinder out from the bottom of the chair
control column and discard.

5. Remove cylinder.
6. Install new cylinder, retainer, cylinder cap
and bearing. See full size illustrations on page 6.
IMPORTANT: Add grease to column as shown.
7. Reinstall base. Attach base retaining clip.

D. Back Assembly
1. Remove back shell, and discard.
2.  Release locking tabs and lift back off.
3.  Align new back assembly with support rails,
push down until locking tabs engage.

E. Seat Cushion Assembly
1. Remove arms from bottom of seat.
2. Remove cable from bottom of seat.
3. Remove four (4) bolts holding seat to chair
control plate.
4. Replace seat and arms using new bolts.

F. Cable Assembly
1. Remove screws from the bottom of the seat.
2. Disconnect the cable end from the chair control,
and discard the old cable.
3. Replace cable and all screws.

1. Remove base (see steps 1 thru 3 on page 2).
2. Remove back (see steps 1 thru 3 on page 7).
3. Remove seat cushion (see steps 1 thru 3 on page 8).
4. Remove chair control.
5. Re-assemble the chair control.
G. Criterion Plus Chair Control
Replacement
1. Remove seat cushion (see steps 1 thru 4 on page 8).
2. Remove four (4) screws and replace two (2) axle bearings.
 (Torque screws 45-55 in/lbs.)
3. Re-assemble.
