El cabezal de la cámara se utiliza junto con la

could arise through the use of the system.
2. 1 Explanation of warnings and
cautions
Please read this manual carefully and follow its
instructions precisely. The words Warning, Caution
and Note convey special meanings. Wherever they
are used in this manual, the accompanying text
should be carefully reviewed to ensure the safe
and effective operation of the system. Tomake
these words stand out more clearly, they are
accompanied by a pictogram.
3WARNING: A Warning indicates that the
personal safety of the patient or physician
may be at risk.
2CAUTION: A Caution indicates that
particular service procedures or
precautions must be followed to avoid
possible damage to the device.

systems instruction manual, which was enclosed
with your camera control unit. To ensure the safe

3WARNUNG: Bei Verwendung des Kame-
rasystems mit Elektrochirurgiegeräten kann
die Empfindung eines elektrischen Schlags
entstehen.
3WARNUNG: Elektrostatische
Entladungen beim ersten Berühren des
Kamerasystems können als elektrische
Schläge empfunden werden. Bei einem
Bildausfall aufgrund von elektrostatischer
Entladung die Kamerakontrolleinheit
aus- und wieder einschalten, um das Bild
wiederherzustellen.
3WARNUNG: Beim Einsatz von
Hochfrequenz-Chirurgiezubehör ist der
Kontakt zwischen dem HF-Chirurgiegerät
und dem Endoskop bzw. der Endoskopie-
Kamera zu verhindern. Ein versehentlicher
Kontakt kann zu thermischen
Gefährdungen für den Chirurgen führen.

3WARNING: Read this instruction manual
thoroughly before using the equipment.
3WARNING: Check that the equipment is
functioning properly prior to each surgical
intervention. Ensure that the correct video
image appears on all video monitors
before beginning each intervention. It is
recommended that a replacement system
is kept available.
3WARNING: Perceived electric shocks may
be experienced when using the camera
system in conjunction with electrosurgical
units.
3WARNING: Electrostatic discharge (ESD)
may be perceived as an electric shock
when touching the camera system for the
first time. In the event of image loss due
to ESD, switch the camera control unit off
and back on again to restore the image.
3WARNING: When using high frequency
surgical accessories, care must be taken
to avert contact between the HF surgical
device and the endoscope or endoscopic
camera. Inadvertent contact may
represent a thermal hazard to the surgeon.

Antes de cualquier intervención quirúrgica,

monitores de vídeo muestran la imagen

3WARNING: All endoscopic devices (e.g.,
HF surgical probes) used in conjunction
with KARLSTORZ endoscopic cameras
must comply with IEC/EN60601-2-18, the
standard for medical electrical equipment
– particular requirements for the safety of
endoscopic equipment. The insulation of
the endoscopic devices must be designed
to withstand the highest HF voltage
encountered during surgery.
HF-generating equipment is dangerous
and cannot be allowed to make contact
with the camera head or system via the
accessories or endoscopes connected to
the camera head or system.
3WARNING: Risk of blindness. Never look
into the open end of a light cable.
3WARNING: Risk of burns. Contact with
the open end of a light cable connected to
a light source may cause burns.

5. 2 Bedienung von Endoskopie-
Kameraköpfen (TH 100, TH 101,

5. 2. 1 Endoskop und
Lichtkabel anschließen
IMAGE1S™ H3 Kameraköpfe verfügen über
eine integrierte Instrumentenkupplung und eine
integrierte Optik. Endoskope werden an die
Instrumentenkupplung angeschlossen, indem
der äußere Ring der Kupplung im Uhrzeigersinn
gedreht und das Okular des Endoskops eingesetzt
wird. Beim Anschließen des Endoskops an einen
Pendulum-Kamerakopf muss der Pendulum-
Verschluss einrasten, bevor der äußere Ring des
Fassmechanismus gedreht wird. Um ein Drehen
des Endoskops zu verhindern, muss der äußere
Ring der Instrumentenkupplung gegen den
Uhrzeigersinn festgedreht werden. Das Lichtkabel
an das Okular des Endoskops anschließen,
indem die Rändelschraube am Lichtkabel um eine
Vierteldrehung festgezogen wird.
2VORSICHT: Rückstände von
Desinfektionsmittel auf dem Lichtleiter oder
am Lichteinlass des Endoskops können
durch die Hitzeentwicklung der Lichtquelle
einbrennen. Dies kann zu einem reduzierten
Lichtleitvermögen und somit zu einer
Verschlechterung der Bildqualität führen.

5. 2. 1 Connecting an endoscope and
light cable
IMAGE1S™ H3 camera heads have an integrated
instrument coupler and telescope. To connect an
endoscope to the instrument coupler, turn the
outer ring of the instrument coupler clockwise
and insert the eyepiece of the endoscope into
the coupler. When connecting the endoscope to
a Pendulum camera head, the Pendulum lock
must click into place before the outer ring of the
grasping mechanism is turned. To prevent rotation
of the endoscope, the outer ring of the instrument
coupler must be turned counterclockwise until
tight. Connect the light cable to the eyepiece of
the endoscope by tightening the knurled screw on
the light cable through a quarter turn.
2CAUTION: Heat from the light source
can cause disinfectant residue on the light
cable or on the light inlet of the endoscope
to burn. This can have a detrimental effect
on the light conduction and thus the image
quality.

Los cabezales de cámara IMAGE1S™ H3
disponen de un acoplamiento para instrumentos
integrado y una óptica incorporada. Para conectar
endoscopios al acoplamiento para instrumentos,
se gira el anillo exterior del acoplamiento en el
sentido de las agujas del reloj y se inserta el ocular
del endoscopio. Al conectar el endoscopio a un
cabezal pendular de la cámara, el cierre pendular
ha de quedar encastrado antes de girar el anillo
exterior del mecanismo de anclaje. Para impedir
que el endoscopio gire, hay que apretar el anillo
exterior del acoplamiento para instrumentos
girándolo en el sentido contrario al de las agujas
del reloj. Conecte el cable de luz al ocular del
endoscopio, apretando para ello un cuarto de
vuelta el tornillo moleteado en el cable de luz.
2ADVERTENCIA: El calor generado por la
fuente de luz puede quemar los residuos
del producto desinfectante en el cable de
luz y en la entrada de luz del endoscopio.
Esto puede mermar la conductividad
lumínica y, en consecuencia, menoscabar
la calidad de la imagen.

IMAGE1S™H3-M COVIEW®
Der IMAGE1S™H3-M COVIEW® Mikroskop-
Kamerakopf wird mit Hilfe eines TV-Adapters
an eine geeignete Schnittstelle am
Operationsmikroskop angeschlossen. Geeignete
Schnittstellen sind optische Strahlteiler mit
Mitbeobachteranschlüssen. Diese Optionen stehen
bei allen Operationsmikroskopen zur Verfügung.
Einige Operationsmikroskope sind mit einem
C-MOUNT-Anschluss ausgestattet an dem der
IMAGE1S™H3-M COVIEW® Kamerakopf direkt
angeschlossen werden kann.
5. 3. 1 Trennen des Kamerakopfkabels
Der IMAGE1S™H3-M COVIEW® Kamerakopf
wird serienmäßig mit einem 9m langen Kabel
geliefert. Es wird empfohlen, das Kamerakopfkabel

head TH 106 IMAGE1S™H3-M
COVIEW®
The IMAGE1S™H3-M COVIEW® microscope
camera head is connected to a suitable interface
on the surgical microscope using a TV adaptor.
Suitable interfaces are optical beam splitters
and co-observer connectors. These options are
available for all surgical microscopes.
Some surgical microscopes are equipped with a
C-MOUNT connection that is directly coupled with
the IMAGE1S™H3-M COVIEW® camera head.
5. 3. 1 Detaching the camera head cable
The IMAGE1S™H3-M COVIEW® camera head is
delivered with a 9 m cable as standard. Detaching
the camera cable from the camera head is
recommended in order to make installation easier.
To detach the camera cable, unscrew the cable
connector from the camera head by turning in the
counterclockwise direction and carefully pull out
the cable.
5. 3. 2 Connecting the camera head
to the TV adaptor and surgical
microscope
To connect the the IMAGE1S™H3-M COVIEW®
camera head to the surgical microscope, a TV
adaptor is required (e.g. KARLSTORZ QUINTUS®
TV adaptor). Screw the camera head carefully
onto the C-MOUNT connection of the TV
adaptor and then secure the camera head and
TV adaptor to the co-observer interface of the
surgical microscope. For more detailed installation
instructions, please refer to the instruction leaflet
provided with the QUINTUS® TV adaptor.

7. 1 Pflege und Handhabung
Zur Erhöhung der Lebensdauer Ihrer Kamera
bitte die folgenden Anweisungen zur korrekten
Handhabung und Pflege des Kamerakopfes
befolgen:

The following chapter provides information on the
care and cleaning of the IMAGE1S™H3 camera
heads.
7. 1 Care and handling
To maximize the life of your camera, please follow
the guidelines given below for the correct handling
and care of the camera head:
DO NOT PLUG THE CAMERA HEAD
CABLE INTO THE PROCESSOR
RECEPTACLE IF IT IS MOIST OR
NOT CLEAN. Always ensure that the
connector is completely clean. Remove
any moisture present with a sterile cloth
before connecting.
DO NOT PICK UP THE CAMERA HEAD
BY ITS CABLE. Always pick up the
camera head first, and then pick up and
support the cable and connector. The
cable contains many tiny conductors
and must therefore be handled with
care.
DO NOT STORE THE CAMERA
SYSTEM in direct sunlight or at high
temperatures.
ENSURE THAT THE CABLE IS NOT
COILED TOO TIGHTLY OR FOLDED UP
WHILE THE CAMERA IS IN STORAGE.
Always arrange the cable in loose coils
with a diameter of 6 inches (15cm) or
more.
DO NOT PULL FORCEFULLY ON
THE CABLE WHEN UNCOILING.
Undesirable ‘kinks’ may result. Always
allow the cable to uncoil gently and
loosely.
HANDLE THE SYSTEM WITH CARE,
avoiding any strong impacts. When
transporting, use the original packaging
to prevent damage to the device.

7. 1 Mantenimiento y manejo
A fin de prolongar la vida útil de la cámara,
