1. GENERAL WARNINGS
1.1 INTRODUCTION
This document has been prepared specically for Technogym After Sales Service, with the aim
of providing authorised personnel with the information for carrying out repair operations in the
correct manner.
A thorough understanding of the technical data contained herein is absolutely fundamental in
order for the operator to achieve the highest level in professional training.
In this manual are reported infomative notes with particular meanings:

1.2 USEFUL ADVICE
Technogym advises you to plan your technical assistance task in the following way:
Carefully assess the impressions reported by the Customer regarding the equipment’s operating
faults and ask questions suitable to clarify the signs of the defect.
Clearly diagnose the causes of the problem. This manual provides the fundamental theoretical ba-
sis, which must then be integrated by personal experience and aendance at the training courses
periodically oered by Technogym.
Plan the repair work in a rational manner so as to avoid wasting any time, e.g. collecting spare-
parts, preparing tools and equipment etc.
Access the component to be repaired, avoiding any unnecessary operations.
1.3 GENERAL REGULATIONS REGARDING SERVICE WORK
1. Check the serial number of the equipment, comparing it with the one on the work order.
2. Always mark any parts or positions which may be confused with each other at the time of
reassembly.
3. Use original Technogym spare parts and lubricants of the recommended brands.
4. Use special tools where specied.
5. Consult the Technical Newsleers and News Flashes, which may contain more up-to-date
information on adjustments and maintenance than those contained in this manual.
6. Before starting the repair procedure, make sure that the recommended tools are available and
in good condition.
7. Use only the tools indicated in the following procedures.
ATTENTION: it is the responsibility of the technician delimit the areas of intervention
and safe operation.

2. USE OF THE ASSEMBLY KIT VISIO/VISIOWEB -UNITY 3.0
The ASSEMBLY KIT VISIO/VISIOWEB - UNITY 3.0 must be used on EXCITE/
EXCITE+ equipment with broken VISIO/VISIOWEB display, with VISIO/VI-
SIOWED no more available.
In the following chapters are described the installation istructions of UNITY 3.0 on passive EXCITE
/ EXCITE+ equipment and on RUN NOW / JOG NOW equipment.

3. PASSIVE EQUIPMENT: UNITY 3.0 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The following procedure describes the installation steps of UNITY 3.0 on the New Recline
equipment. This procedure is applicable to EXCITE, EXCITE+ passive equipment.
For the following procedure, switch o the equipment and disconnect the power cable from the wall
outlet.
ESTIMATED TIME: 1h. N° of TECHNICIANS NEEDED: 1.
All Assembly Kits include the UNITY 3.0 assembled with black frame. In addition, the kit contains
the grey frame. Before mounting the display, ask the customer if he wants the black or grey frame. If
necessary, replace the frame.
3.1 DISASSEMBLING THE DISPLAY
1. Remove the 4 screws (A), on the rear of the
display, using a medium Phillips screwdriver.

2. Lower the rear guard of the display and
remove the 4 screws (B), using a 4mm Allen
wrench.

3. Disconnect the wirings that come from the
Low Kit and Touch Sensor.
4. Remove the display.

3.2 ASSEMBLING THE CAP OF THE REAR GUARD OF THE DISPLAY
1. Position the cap (D) on the rear guard of the
display and x it, from the internal part of the
guard, using the two screws and washers (C)
provided in the kit, with a Medium Phillips
screwdriver.

3.3 CONNECTION OF CABLES TO THE CPU BOARD OF DISPLAY
1. Connect the antenna cable (E) to the CPU bo-
ard.
The gure alongside shows the display power
adapter cable (F) 0WCU0686xx, provided in the
kit.
2. Connect the display power adapter cable (F)
0WCU0686xx, to the power cable, the ground
cable and the digital connection cable with the
Low Kit.

3. Connect the 16-pole connector of the display
power adapter cable (F) 0WCU0686xx, to the
connector POWER CN17 of the CPU Board.
4. Connect the female faston of the cable (F)
0WCU0686xx, to the metal sheet of the CPU
Board.
5. Connect the LAN cable (G) to the CPU Board
(LAN CN4).
The gure alongside shows the cardio-touch
adapter cable (H) 0WCU0687xx, provided in
the kit.

6. Do not connect the 8-pole connector of the
cardio-touch adapter cable (H) 0WCU0687xx,
in case of the following equipment: New Recli-
ne / New Bike / Step / Top / Vario.
The 8-pole connector of the cable (H) must
be connected only in case of Synchro / Cros-
sOver equipment, that have the hand sensor
board and the cardio receiver separate.
7. Do not connect the ground cable of the car-
dio-touch adapter cable (H) 0WCU0687xx.
In the equipment with the ground cable -that
comes from the Low-Kit- splied, connect
the faston blue of the cable (H) to the ground
cable and connect the faston white of the ca-
ble (H) to the metal sheet of the CPU Board,
beside the connector CARDIO CN21.
8. Connect the 24-pole connector of the cable
(H) 0WCU0687xx, to the CPU Board (connector
CN21 CARDIO. DIG. IO).

9. Connect the 4-pole connector of the cardio-
touch adapter cable (H) 0WCU0687xx, identi-
ed with the red colour, to the 4-pole connector
of the cable of the equipment, with red sheath.
10.Connect the 4-pole connector of the cable
(H) 0WCU0687xx, to the 4-pole connector of the
cable of the equipment.
11. Connect the 6-pole connector of the cardio-
touch adapter cable (H) 0WCU0687xx, to the
6-pole connector of the cable of the equipment.
12. Do not connect the connector of the cable of
the equipment with black thin thread.

3.4 REASSEMBLING THE DISPLAY
Reposition the display following the steps described at the Paragraph “3.1 disassembling the di-
splay”, in reverse order.
3.5 LOW KIT REPLACEMENT
Replace the Low Kit with the one provided in the Assembly Kit. The disassembling procedure is
described in the Technical Service guides, available on TG Direct.
3.6 UNITY 3.0 SW AND LOW KIT FW UPDATE
1. Connect the power cable to the power outlet and switch on the equipment.
2. Update the UNITY 3.0 SW, using the UNITY upgrade USB key, as soon as synchronized with
PC Synch.
3. Update the FW of the Low Kit.
