DANGER: Remove power from the Pump System before any
cleaning operation is started.

remove power or shut off the drive. Fingers or loose clothing
could be caught in the rollers.
Tubing breakage may result in fluid being sprayed from pump.
Use appropriate measures to protect operator and equipment.
CAUTION: Tubing for use with the FH15 and FH30 Compact Pump
Systems are two-stop tubing sets. See Appendix A for specifics.
Use of tubing sets other than that specified will result in poor
pumping performance and/or pump system damage and voiding
of applicable warranty.

Section 1 Introduction
The FH15 & FH30 Compact Pump Systems, Figure 1-1, are enclosed in a
painted steel and anodized aluminum housing.

The Pump System can accommodate one or two tubes simultaneously
(depending on model) at controlled speeds as low as 20 rpm. Tubing is
held in place by stops bonded to the tubing and slots in the Tubing
Retainer Bracket. For a list of tube sets for use with the Pump System,
refer to Appendix A.
The latching occlusion bed allows quick loading or changing of tubing.
The Pump Head rotor contains three rollers for optimum flow and
positive flow checking. All units operate from an external DC power
supply and are supplied with a Universal Power Supply (see Input
Specification for operating voltage/frequency). This power supply provides
a DC output for connection to the pump drive.

The single-turn, adjustable Speed Control, Figure 1-2, provides variable
flow operation. The green PWR On indicator lights whenever the pump
is operating. The Power On/Direction switch turns power on when either
clockwise or counterclockwise pump rotor direction is selected. The 䊳䊳
button is used for priming and purging and operates the pump at
maximum speed when depressed.

The Rear Panel, Figure 1-3, contains a DC Power Input jack for
connection of primary power and a 4-terminal barrier strip for connection
of Remote Start/Stop and for a remote DC supply.

Use only two-stop tubing sets to ensure optimum performance. Use
of other tubing sets may void applicable warranties.
Appendix A provides a list of tubing sets which will work efficiently with
the FH15 & FH30 Compact Pump System. This list includes tubing
diameters, flow rates in mL/min and the maximum flow rates per
revolution at 20 rpm and 100 rpm. Tubing is listed by part number. For
best results, when using two tubes (two-channel models only), select tubes
that provide flow rates within a 10:1 range. (Tube diameter ratios should
be within approximately 3.5:1.)
WARNING: Before installing tubing into the Pump Head

For dual or two-channel Pump Systems, Silicone tubing should not be
used with TYGON® or PHARMED® BPT.
1. Place the Power On/Direction Switch, Figure 1-2, in the center
(Off) position.
2. Push the Occlusion Bed Latch, Figure 2-1, to the right to release the
occlusion bed from the rotor.

3. Insert the tube set into the slot on one side of the tubing retainer bracket
with the tubing stop on top of the bracket (opposite side from the
rotor).
4. Wrap the tubing around the rollers and insert the tubing into the slot
on the opposite side of the bracket, stretching the tubing slightly so
that the second tubing stop is also on top of the bracket.
5. For two-channel modes, the tubing must be in the same slots on both
sides of the bracket (i.e. both in front slot or both in rear slot). If two
tubes are being installed, repeat 3 and 4 above with the second tube set.
6. Lift the occlusion bed up against the tubing and push the occlusion
bed latch to the left until it locks in place in the cutout on the
occlusion bed.
Connect the external power supply to the applicable input voltage source
and the output of the external power supply to the DC input connector on
the pump unit.
NOTE: The Power Supply output connection is center positive (+).
Terminals 1 and 2 on the rear panel barrier terminal strip, Figure 1-3,
provide a means for connecting a remote DC power source. The positive
(+) terminal is terminal 1. The negative (–) terminal is terminal 2.
NOTE: Input voltage must not exceed 15V DC or equipment may be
damaged. A minimum of 11V DC is required for proper operation.
Terminals 3 and 4 on the rear panel Terminal Strip, Figure 1-3, are used
for remote start/stop operation. Pump direction and speed are not
remotely controllable. In non-remote operation, these terminals are
connected together by a Shorting Bar.
For remote control by switch closure, remove the Shorting Bar and
connect the two terminals of the remote control switch to terminals
3 and 4. A closure of the remote control switch contacts will start the
Pump System. Opening the contact will stop the Pump System.

Section 3 Operation
This section describes the procedures for obtaining desired performance.
Flow rate is determined by the drive speed and the tubing size.
WARNING: Tubing breakage may result in fluid being sprayed
from pump. Use appropriate measures to protect operator and
equipment.
The Pump System can be set to operate in either a clockwise or a
counterclockwise direction. The same control used to select direction also
turns power on or off. Select direction of pump operation desired. PWR
indicator should light.
Pump speed is controlled by the variable Speed Control. Turning the
control clockwise increases the speed. Tube life is decreased with increased
operating speed.
The 䊳䊳 Push Button is used for priming and purging the Pump System.
When 䊳䊳 is depressed, the pump operates at maximum speed in the
selected direction until the button is released.

DANGER: Remove power from the Pump System before any
cleaning operation is started.
Keep the drive enclosure clean with mild detergents. Never immerse nor
use excessive fluid.
The motor used in this inexpensive drive is not serviceable or repairable
and has brushes which cannot be replaced. The motor is rated for a
continuous duty life of 1500 operating hours minimum.
Operation at other than continuous duty cycles will result in longer motor
life. If motor failure for whatever reason occurs, the motor must be
replaced.
