checkyourmachinetoseeifitalreadyhasthischeckvalve.
Thecheckvalvehasanarrowstampedinto1sideofthe
tting.Ifyouseethearrow,yourmachinehasthecheckvalve
installed(Figure1).
Important:Thecheckvalvemustbeinstalled.
Important:Thecheckvalveandthettingwithoutthe
checklookthesame,exceptforthearrow.
Note:Ifnecessary,useaninspectionmirrortoseetheother
sidesofthetting.

ReplacingtheHydrostat
Duringtheprocedureofreplacingthehydrostat,installthe
checkvalve;refertoInstallingtheCheckValve(page2).
Refertotheservicemanualforinstructionsonreplacingthe
hydrostat.
InstallingtheCheckValve
Theseinstructionsapplytomachinesthathavealreadyhad
thehydrostatinstalled.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,shutofftheengine,
settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthe
ignitionswitch.
WARNING
Partsofthemachineandtheuidsinsidemay
behotandcanburnyou.
Allowthemachineandtheuidstocool.
2.Placeanoil-absorbentpadbetweenthecharge-lter
assemblyandthemachineframe.
3.Placeanotheroil-absorbentpadbelowtherstone
inthemachineframechanneltocontainthedraining
hydraulicuid.
4.Loosenandremovethetophardlinebetweenthe
ttingonthelterheadandthettingonthehydraulic
manifold(Figure2).

looseduringthedisassemblyofthehardline.
11.Looselyinstallthelowerhardlinethatisconnectedto
thehydrostatintothecheckttingbackinthemiddle
portofthelterhead(Figure4).
12.Installandsecurethehex-headscrewstoassemblethe
lterheadtotheframebracket(Figure4).
13.Torquethelowerhardlineto36.6to44.7N∙m(27to
33ft-lb),useabackingwrenchtomaintainthetorque
oftheexistingtting.
14.Installthetophardlineandpositionitsothatthehard
linesarenottouchingeachanother.Torquethehard
linetothettingto36.6to44.7N∙m(27to33ft-lb),
usingabackingwrench(Figure2).
Note:Removetheoil-absorbentpadsandwipethe
areaforanyresidualoil.
15.Checkthelevelofthehydraulicuid,andadduidif
necessary;refertothemachineOperator’sManual.
16.Testmachinefunctionasfollows:
A.Verifythatthemachinereturnstoneutral
reliablyandrepeatedly.Themachinemuststop
immediatelywhenyoureleasethetractioncontrol
lever.
B.Verifythatthemachinedoesnotcreep.Ifthe
machinecreeps,adjustthetractionadjustment
camtoarepeatableneutral;refertothemachine
Operator’sManual.
C.AsdescribedinthemachineOperator’sManual,
performthe2-inchspacingspeedtest;placethe
unitinthe2-inchspacingposition.Themachine
shouldrunadistanceof15.24m(50ft)in34
secondswiththeenginerunningat3,400rpm.
Adjustthestopboltasindicatedpertheprocess
describedinthemachineOperator’sManual.
D.Checkthelevelofthehydraulicuidandaddthe
appropriatehydraulicuidifnecessary;referto
themachineOperator’sManual.
