1.Lineup1edgeofthematwiththerearedgeofthe
carrier.
Important:Ifyouareinstallingthesteelmat,
positionthematsothatthetabsalongthe
outsideedgefacerearwardwhentheinstallation
iscomplete.Thisorientationpreventsthetabs
frombendingandothersubsequentdamagefrom
occurring.

UsingtheDragMatCarrier
Thedrag-matcarrierisdesignedtohavethetractionunit
adapterinthelowestpositionwhileinuse.Whenlowered,
thepivotassemblyshouldbeapproximatelyinthecenterof
theslot(Figure13).
Note:Donotusethecoconut-bermatinheavy,wet
conditions.Thematwillllupwithmaterialandnotwork
properly.
Note:Usingthesteelmatisnotrecommendedongolf
greens.

Completethefollowingproceduretoincreasetheheightof
thedrag-matcarrierwhentransporting:
1.Lowerthedrag-matcarrieraslowaspossible.
2.Disconnectthechainsfromtheliftarmsandconnect
theminadifferentlink.
Note:Toensureproperoperationofthedrag-matcarrier,
returnthechainsmusttotheoriginalslackpositionbefore
beginningoperation.

Maintenance
InspectingandCleaningthe
Drag-MatCarrierandTraction
Unit
Whenyounishoperatingthemachine,cleantheit
thoroughly.Washoffthemachineaftereachuse.Ifyouclean
themachinefrequently(beforethematerialhasachanceto
cake),youcancleanitwithastreamofwaterfromahose
withthenozzleremoved.Ahigh-pressurestreamcoulddrive
thematerialintowearareaswhereitcouldactasagrinding
compound.
GreasingtheAttachment
Adapter
Ifthelockingleverontheattachmentadapterdoesnotpivot
freelyandeasily,applyalightcoatofgreasetotheareashown
inFigure16.
