3. Data transfer information
Latooyete uses NFC to wirelessly transmit data with-
in a range of just a few centimetres. Data is trans-
mitted passively and is activated by the smartphone.
The ultra-slim button cell powers the LED display
and is used to log the temperatures.
No pairing is necessary and the data from the La-
tooyete can be accessed freely by all smartphones
within the specifi ed range. Measurements and other
information from the smartphone are not recorded
or stored by Turck duotec.
4. Removing the battery
The Latooyete features a standard CR1225 button
cell. It will last for three months under continuous
use, i.e. for constant measurement intervals of fi ve
minutes. The Latooyete can be opened at a prede-
termined breaking point in the overmoulded casing
by applying gentle pressure, meaning that the but-
ton cell can then be removed and recycled when
empty.

1. Description
Latooyete is an electronic device designed to record
temperature data. The temperature data logger is
very easy to use when recording the temperature
of drinks – and especially hot drinks such as coffee,
thanks to its very small size. Its ultra-slim integrated
button cell and low power consumption mean the
device can be operated easily and reliably for a long
period of time.
Latooyete is not a commercial product, but rather
an experimental demonstration tool. It illustrates
the production and development capabilities of
Turck duotec.
2. Assembly/use
The Turck duotec Latooyete app
must be downloaded from the
Google Play Store prior to assembly.
An NFC-compatible mobile phone is required to
use the app. The typical distance from the stirrer
(depending on the smartphone) should be no more
than 1 cm (max. 10 cm with a range extender). The
stirrer is then dipped into the liquid and the tempe-
rature measured.
The in-built temperature sensor is able to measure
temperatures between -40°C and +125°C. Howe-
ver, the temperature of the liquid and the stora-
ge conditions of the Latooyete should not exceed
-40°C or +85°C, due to the battery inside in the
stirrer. The accuracy of the temperature measure-
ment range is ±0.5°C between -25°C and +85°C.
After the measurement has been taken, the Latoo-
yete is then removed from the liquid and placed
right next to the NFC-compatible mobile phone.
The app will display the temperature measured.
