1. INTRODUCTION
MCX 75 Ohm Straight Cable Plugs 1362990-1 and
1362990-2 (crimp attachment) are designed to be
crimped onto the following coaxial cable:
Using the following tools:
Dimensions in this instruction sheet are in
millimeters [with inches in brackets]. Figures are
not drawn to scale.
Reasons for reissue of this instruction sheet are
provided in Section 3, REVISION SUMMARY.
2. ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE
Follow safety precautions included with the tools
used for assembly.
1. Slide the ferrule onto the cable. Strip the cable
to the dimensions shown in Figure 2, Detail A.
Take care not to nick the center conductor. Flare
the cable braid.
2. Fit the center contact over the cable center
conductor so that the contact butts against the
dielectric. See Figure 2, Detail B.
3. Crimp the center contact onto the center
conductor. Use the square crimping chamber
(.028).
4. Insert the crimped center contact into the back
of the plug body until the contact bottoms. See
Figure 2, Detail C.
5. Slide the ferrule over the cable braid until the
ferrule butts against the plug body. See Figure 2,
Detail D.
6. Crimp the ferrule onto cable braid and plug
body. Use the hex crimping chamber (.128 for RG
179/U cable and .151 for RD 179/U cable). Trim
excess cable braid strands.
7. Inspect the assembled plug according to
Figure 3.
