MACHINE IDENTIFICATION
The data plate is fixed permanently to the frame, at the left-hand side of the wrapping machine.
The information given on the data plate (Fig 1) enables to clearly identify the machine:
-the manufacturer’s name and data,
-machine name,
-year of production,
-serial number,
-weight,
-„CE“ mark,
-KJ mark –quality control.
1. INTRODUCTION
If you find this inscription in the text when reading the instructions, study it care-
fully; be beware of danger yourself and inform the other operators of it!
1.1. Read the operating instructions
This operating instructions gives its user information about usage, operating and maintenance of
the machine , includes operating characteristics and requirements of safe and professional usage
of the machine what allows for its best handling at maximum life possible and reliability at the
same. It also includes directions how to order the spare parts. Studying the operating instructions
will help you to avoid accidents, to preserve the guarantee until the end of the guarantee period;
beside that you will always have operational and effective machine at your disposal ready for use.
The operating instructions is basic accessory of the machine.
It is forbidden to maintain any actions at the machine before familiarizing
with the contents of the operating instructions.
Any and all detailed information concerning the machine and the explanations to the operating in-
structions should be provided by the salesman or the manufacturer.

1.2. Intended use
The machine is invented to a normal and typical agricultural application, i.e. wrapping bales of
straw and other plants produced for ensilage and wrapped into bales by wrapping presses/balers.
Usage of the bale wrapping machine for other purposes will be understood as inconsistent with the
destination what excludes the manufacturer’s responsibility for the damages implied by the fact.
The machine must be used, operated and repaired professionally. Usage of the machine by
untrained person and youngsters may be a reason of accidents or machine damage.
Follow the safety regulations specified in the instruction, general work safety and health ba-
ses and road traffic rules.
Follow the work safety, health rules and work maintenance when operating the machine.
Unauthorized changes made in the machine exclude the manufacturers’responsibility for
the resulted damages.
1.3. What is important at the purchase
The salesman fills in “Delivery Note of the agricultural machine with the instructions” and keeps
original after signing, the buyer receives copy. Before accepting the delivery, check the machine
completeness with the shipment specification and make sure the seller accurately fills in the Guar-
antee Card, claim coupons and the title page of the operating instructions.
1.4. Guarantee
The guarantee conditions are given in the Guarantee Card. The detailed familiarizing with Operat-
ing Instructions is obligation of the machine operator. Failure in following operation rules leads to
inefficient usage of the bale wrapping machine, its malfunction and loss of rights to the guarantee
title.
Loss of the rights to the guarantee will happen in particular due the following circumstances:
1. Mechanical damages caused by operating inconsistent with the instructions.
2. Repairs performed by workshops other than specified by the salesman or the manufacturer.
3. Usage of repair parts other than original.
4. Making unauthorized changes in the machine construction.
In case of machine breakdown covered by factory guarantee, it should be notified to the salesman.
2. WORK SAFETY AND HEALTH
The majority of accidents happening during work, service or transportation comes from not
following of elementary safety rules. Therefore, it is important that any person operating the ma-
chine follow basic safety rules mentioned hereinafter as closely as possible.

2.1. General rules
1. Before each start, the bale wrapping machine should be checked all together with the tractor,
for transport and operation safety.
2. Additionally to presented instructions, follow general Work Safety and Hygiene rules !
3. Follow inscriptions and warning symbols located on the machine.
Complying serves your safety!
4. The bale wrapping machine may be started only when all protective devices are located in
their safety positions.
5. The machine may be started at Operating Position only.
6. The machine may be operated only by person familiarized with operating instructions,
possessing adequate experience and qualifications to work with agricultural machines.
It is forbidden to operate the machine by untrained person or juveniles.
7. Before use, check the completeness of machine to ensure its appropriate technical condition.
Check for loose parts, correct tightness of all screws and nuts. Never work with damaged
equipment and missing parts.
8. Before starting the tractor make sure all drives are switched off.
9. Do not leave the operating tractor unattended. Before leaving the tractor, switch off the drive
and take out ignition key. Engage manual brake and secure the machine.
10. Never leave rotating bale wrapping machine intendent. Leave operators’ section after
disconnecting drive, engaging hand brake and all of machines’ rotating parts stopped.
11. In case parts require replacement, apply the original replacement parts only.
12. Do not work with bale wrapping machine on hilly, uneven terrain.
13. Be certain there are no bystanders or animals in hazardous area before starting up the ma-
chine and during the wrapping due the risk of crushing by bale or operating machine itself.
Pay special attention for children.
14. Never climb the machine at any circumstances.
15. During bale wrapping, no bystanders may remain at zone of rotating units.
16. All remotely controlled and adjustable machine parts (wires, chains, tension bends) should be
assembled in a way to avoid accidental movement during operation and transportation or ma-
neuvering.
17. Never remain in machines operating zone during maneuvering of the machine.
18. Never walk between tractor and machine before the unit is secured to move by engaging
tractor parking brake or planting wedges under transport wheels.
19. Permitted slope angle during operation and technical passes is 8,5°.

20. The bale wrapping machine should be integrated with tractors of the adequate class and en-
gine power only.
21. It is forbidden to carry bales by wrapping machine on public roads.
22. It is forbidden to use damaged or broken hydraulic pipes. Any damaged pipe should be re-
placed immediately. Check for the installation constraint before any machine start-up. Pay at-
tention that oil does not pollute the environment.
23. It is forbidden to service the bale wrapping machine under elevated machine units.
24. The wrapping machine should be used according to its purpose only.
2.2. Transportation
1. Before setting the machine into transport position, pay attention that all rotating parts stopped.
2. Maintain a special caution during traveling by the unit on public roads and adapt to
binding road regulations. Additionally, install triangle warning sign on the machine for the time
of transportation.
3. Do not exceed maximum permitted transport and operating speed. Follow the basic safety rules
while driving a tractor. Never drive the tractor too close to a ditch or ravine edge. Pay a special
attention to uneven terrain, pits and any difficulties.
4. Adapt the travelling speed to current road conditions; do not drive too fast!
Remember the machine exceeds at the back-end.
5. Permitted transportation speed should be limited to 25 km/h.
2.3. Operating components of the machine
1. Before attempting to use the wrapping machine, pay attention to the condition of the operating
parts like: drums, foil feeder rollers, knife mechanism.
2. Any damaged operating parts and its fixings should be replaced immediately by original
replacement parts.
2.4. Maintenance and operation
1. The wrapping machine should be resting on flat and straight structure.
2. All service, maintenance and adjustment work should be done under disconnected drive,
engine switched off and ignition key removed!
3. Check and tighten nuts and screws regularly.
4. Spare parts must fulfill technical requirements defined by the manufacturer.
Apply original spare parts.
5. Use required tools and individual protective equipment and clothes. Never wear any clothes
that may be caught by the rotating parts.

3. RESIDUAL RISK
3.1. Residual risk description
Though Unia-Famarol accepts the responsibility for design and construction in order to eliminate
any risk, some of them are unavoidable while operating the machine.
The residual risk results from the incorrect behavior of the machine operator.
The most dangerous is when performing following forbidden actions:
-use of the machine for the purposes other than those described in the operating instructions,
-being between the machine and the tractor while its engine operating and getting close to
rotating parts of working mechanisms,
-operate the machine without drive shield or with a damaged shield,
-operate the machine by individuals under influence of alcohol or other narcotics,
-transport the machine with its drive not disengaged,
-staying on the machine during it being operated and transported,
-cleaning the machine during its operating,
-operate at open shields,
-checking the technical condition of the machine during it is operating.
When presenting the residual risk, the bale wrapping machine is treated as a machine that has
been designed and made in accordance with current state of technology before launch of the
manufacturing process.
3.2. Residual risk evaluation
When following such recommendations as:
-careful reading of the operating instructions,
-prohibition of putting hands into inaccessible and forbidden places,
-prohibition of staying on the machine during its operation and transportation,
-maintenance and repairs of the machine –by properly trained people only,
-operation of the machine –by people trained and familiar with operating instructions,
-protect machine against reach of children,
The residual risk might be eliminated while machine is used with no danger to people and
environment.
ATTENTION! Residual risk exists in case of not following to specified
recommendations and hints.

4. WARNING DECALS ON THE MACHINE
All decals placed the machine must be legible. In a case one of it is destroyed,
the duty of the owner (users) is to replace it by a new one .
There are safety decals on the machine, focusing users’ attention to certain risks that could not be
avoided by the structural concept nor by safety parts.
Decals description:
1. Before attempting to use the machine, read carefully operating instructions (R/0842).
2. Before attempting any operating actions or repairs, switch off the tractor engine, remove the
key from the ignition and proceed in accordance with the operating instructions (R/0846).
3. Pay attention to movable units of machine that may cause injuries. Do not allow children and
outsiders to stay near the machine (R/0953).
4. Rotate direction.
5. Foil thread scheme.
6. Pay attention to the chain transmission. Take care of transmission condition.
7. Keep the safe distance –rigid components getting of the machine may result in injuries,.
8. Attention, there are some units in the machine that change their position during operation and
adjustment. Pay attention to it. Do not touch it. It may cause accidents.
9. Attention, machine is equipped with the hydraulic system operating under a high pressure,
take note to its tightness. Take special attention when operating it.
10. Lift catching point.
The decals should be kept in cleanness and must be legible.
If destroyed, the new ones should be ordered from the manufacturer.

5. MACHINE CHARACTERISTICS
5.1. General characteristics
The machine is destined for a standard, typical agricultural application, i.e. for wrapping bales
of straws and other plants intended for ensilage, wrapped up into round bales with use of baling
presses. The bale diameter must be in range from 1,2m up to 1,5m in respect its weight must not
exceed 1200kg. Foil 750mm wide is used for wrapping to provide optimum efficiency. Bales are
meant for ensilaging after wrapping.
The wrapping machine should be used in accordance with its purpose. The wrapping machine
is adapted for combined with tractors of power greater than 30 kW and class min. 0,9 equipped
with a pump allowing for oil flow on the level of 20-45 l/min and the pressure value of
150 - 200bar.
Straws and other papilionaceous plants intended for ensilaging and wrapping should be
mowed at the beginning earing phase (most preferably in the afternoon). After couple of pre-drying
hours (next day after mowing) mowed material should be collected with use of wrapping presses
considering favorable weather conditions. Bale pressing extent should be at the maximum.
In practice, directly after bailing with press (within 2 hours at maximum) the bales should be
wrapped by the wrapping machine. Bales left for longer time experience unfavorable digestion
process. After wrapping, the bales should be set (taking special care in order to not perform the
foil) for 6-8 weeks on flat and dry surface. The wrapped bales fermentation process should be car-
ried out at positive temperature values.
The bales wrapped may be stored in two layers. After two months, the hay/ensilage is ready
for feeding as a full value pasture.
