Safety instructions for working on the system
Working on the system
■Isolate the system from the power supply (e.g. by
removing the separate fuse or by means of a mains
isolator) and check that it is no longer 'live'.
■Safeguard the system against reconnection.
Danger
Hot surfaces can cause burns.
■Before maintenance and service work, switch
OFF the appliance and let it cool down.
■Never touch hot surfaces on the boiler, burner,
flue system or pipework.

Electronic assemblies can be damaged by elec-
trostatic discharge.
Prior to commencing work, touch earthed
objects such as heating or water pipes, to dis-
charge static loads.
Repair work

Repairing components that fulfil a safety func-
tion can compromise the safe operation of the
system.
Replace faulty components only with genuine
Viessmann spare parts.
Auxiliary components, spare and wearing parts
!Please note
Spare and wearing parts that have not been tes-
ted together with the system can compromise its
function. Installing non-authorised components
and making non-approved modifications or con-
versions can compromise safety and may inva-
lidate our warranty.
For replacements, use only original spare parts
supplied or approved by Viessmann.

Safety instructions for operating the system
If you smell flue gas
Danger
Flue gas can lead to life threatening poisoning.
■Shut down the heating system.
■Ventilate the installation site.
■Close doors to living spaces to prevent flue
gases from spreading.
What to do if water escapes from the appliance
Danger
When water escapes from the appliance there is
a risk of electrocution.
Switch off the heating system by means of an
external isolator (for example fuse box, domestic
power distribution).
Flue systems and combustion air
Ensure that flue systems are clear and cannot be
sealed, for instance due to accumulation of conden-
sate or other causes. Ensure an adequate supply of
combustion air.
Instruct system users that subsequent modifications to
the building characteristics are not permissible (e.g.
cable/pipework routing, cladding or partitions).
Danger
Leaking or blocked flue systems, or an inade-
quate supply of combustion air can cause life
threatening poisoning from carbon monoxide in
the flue gas.
Ensure the flue system is in good working order.
Vents for supplying combustion air must be non-
closable.
Extractors
Operating appliances that extract air to the outside
(cooker hoods, extractors, air conditioning units, etc.)
can create negative pressure. If the boiler is operated
at the same time, this can lead to reverse flow of the
flue gas.
Danger
The simultaneous operation of the boiler and
appliances that extract air to the outside can
result in life threatening poisoning due to
reverse flow of the flue gas.
Fit an interlock circuit or take suitable steps to
ensure an adequate supply of combustion air.

Depending on the version, the appliance can only be
used for the following purposes:
■Central heating
■DHW heating
■Cascade control
The range of functions can be extended with additional
components and accessories.
Intended use presupposes that a fixed installation in
conjunction with permissible, system-specific compo-
nents has been carried out.
Commercial or industrial usage for a purpose other
than central heating or DHW heating shall be deemed
inappropriate.
Any usage beyond this must be approved by the man-
ufacturer in each individual case.
Incorrect use or operation of the appliance (e.g. the
appliance being opened by the system user) is prohibi-
ted and will result in an exclusion of liability. Incorrect
use also occurs if the components in the heating sys-
tem are modified from their intended function.
Note
This appliance is intended exclusively for domestic
use. The appliance can also be operated safely by
untrained persons.
Product information
The Vitotrol 350-C can be used in connection with the following boilers:
■Vitoligno 200-S
■Vitoligno 250-S
Note
Use with the Vitoligno 250-S requires a connection adaptor, see page 10.
■Vitoligno 300-C
■Vitoligno 300-H
There are various application options for the Vitotrol 350-C:
■With a boiler
■With 1 to 5 controller modules
■With a boiler and up to 5 controller modules
Each controller module can regulate up to 4 heating circuits
■As a cascade controller for 2 to 4 boilers

The Vitotrol 350-C can be damaged by ingress
of moisture or water.
Install the Vitotrol 350-C exclusively in dry
rooms. Avoid installation outdoors or in humid
rooms.

–Not near heat sources (direct sunlight, fireplace,

Do not install additional control devices in this room. If
radiators are equipped with thermostatic valves, these
must always be fully opened.

However, ideally it should be installed close to the boil-
ers.

After the power supply is switched on, the user is gui-

commissioning the unit.

The regulated circuit can be renamed.
1. Assign the regulated circuit to one of the assem-
blies displayed. For this, tap on "Heating group",
"DHW group", "Not assigned", or "Local heat-
ing network group".

Not all menus are available at every setting level. This
is to avoid incorrect operation of the remote control
and other system components.
The system user can make adjustments in the stand-
ard menu. The "Extended settings" level is reserved
for heating contractors and is password protected.
Additional functions are available in this level. Here,
control parameters can be corrected for example.

General settings
Codes
These parameters are described in the installa-
tion and service instructions of the respective
boiler.
The following settings can be programmed:
Parameter Description
"Time constant, outside temp
adj"
Time constant for calculating the adjusted outside temperature
Subject to the set value, the flow temperature is adjusted quickly (low values)
or slowly (high values) if the outside temperature changes.
"Outside temp sensor offset" Correction of the outside temperature by the value set in °C.
"Minimum buffer temperature
top"
If a combined heating water buffer cylinder is installed, a minimum tempera-
ture can be set for the top of the buffer cylinder (captured by PTS 1).
"Delayed fault message" Minimum fault duration in seconds before a fault message is issued
"Log data to USB" Data can be saved to a USB stick (FAT32 format).
Note
Save data to the stick only where the individual case justifies it.
"Logging interval" for saving
[60 s]
Logging interval in seconds, in which the data is written to the USB stick.
"Delete message history" Deletes all messages in the history.
"Modbus TCP" Data exchange via Modbus TCP can be activated.
"Save settings on USB stick" All settings can be saved to a USB stick.
"Load settings from USB
stick"
All settings can be loaded from a USB stick.
