INTRODUCTION
Read through all of the instructions before starting installation.
Notifications and warning texts are for your safety and to
minimise the risk of something breaking during installation.
Ensure that all tools stated in the instructions are available
before starting installation.
Certain steps in the instructions are only presented in the form
of images. Explanatory text is also given for more complicated
steps.
In the event of any problems with the instructions or the
accessory, contact your local Volvo dealer.

Turn the ignition key to position 0
Wait at least five minutes before disassembling the connectors
or removing other electrical equipment
Remove the rear floor hatch. First open the hatch, then pull it
backwards.

Secure the front floor hatch in the open position.

Remove the storage box from under the rear floor hatch. Turning
the clips on the left and right-hand sides 90°. Lift out the box.

Cut out the insulation panel as illustrated.

Slacken off the screw (1) a few turns. Remove the two nuts (2)
from the holder (3) for the battery
Remove the holder
Remove the protective cover (4) from the battery
Disconnect the battery ground lead.

Unscrew the holder for the spare wheel, jack and tool bag
Remove the jack and tool bag from the holder (it will not be used
again). There is a new holder and securing device for the jack,
too bag and spare wheel in the kit.

Tighten the spare wheel using the new securing device from the
kit.

Remove the rubber washer (1) in the rear cross member behind
the spare wheel. The hole is used to secure the subwoofer at
the rear edge.

If the car has a pre-routed cable harness for the subwoofer,
disconnect the connector (1) from the cable harness at the rear
cross member and continue to point 31. If the car does not have
a pre-routed cable harness, carry out points 10 to 30 first.

Remove the folding panels on the left and right-hand sides of the
cargo compartment.

Remove the rear insulating panels on the right and left-hand
sides.

Remove the left-hand side panel (first remove the cover and the
screw from the front edge)
Pull the top of the panel out until the clips release
Fold the panel inwards. Lift the panel out.

Fold the left-hand seat cushion (1) in the rear seat forwards
Fold the backrest (2) forwards.

Remove the left-hand side cushion. First pull the upper edge of
the cushion backwards and then lift it upwards.

Remove the panel for the D-post loudspeaker. First carefully pry
off the bottom of the panel using a weatherstrip tool
Place the panel to one side
Repeat the operation on the other side.

Remove the loudspeaker by pulling out the red catch (1). Press
in the interlock (2) and fold the loudspeaker forwards to lift it out
Disconnect the connector from the loudspeaker. Place it to one
side
Repeat the operation on the other side.

Route the cable harness from the kit under and along the sill trim
panel for the tailgate and the floor supports on the left and right-
hand sides as illustrated
Ensure that the cable harness is positioned so that the
connector (1) can be connected to the subwoofer.

Thread a thick cable (1) or similar through the hole for the
loudspeaker behind the D-post panel and out into the cargo
compartment
Tape the cable harness (2) at the cable and pull it up through the
hole for the loudspeaker
Repeat the operation on the other side.

Connect the existing loudspeaker connector (1) to the
corresponding connector (2) from the new cable harness
The remaining connector (3) is connected to the loudspeaker
Use the foam tape from the kit to tape around the connectors.
This is to prevent rattling
Repeat the operation on the other side.

Reinstall the loudspeakers on the right and left-hand sides.
Install the guide pins for the loudspeakers in the corresponding
holes in the D-post
Fold the loudspeakers upwards until the catches engage
Slide in the red catch (1).

Applies to the left-hand loudspeaker
Route the existing cable harness (1) out of the D-post panel.
Press it into place in the clamp (2) for the loudspeaker
Reinstall the loudspeaker grilles on both loudspeakers
Clamp the loudspeaker cables at the existing cable harnesses at
the D-post panel. Use four tie straps from the kit (two on each
side).

Clamp the cable harness at the existing cable harness at the
rear cross member. Use four tie straps (1) from the kit.

Remove the fuse holder. First open the lock (1). Then pull the
holder forward and lift it out of the mountings (2).

Pull out the cover (2) and the four connectors
Remove the cover from the four connectors by bending the three
hooks to one side.

Check the car VIN. This is stamped in the engine compartment
on the top of the bulkhead (1a), and on the VIN plate on the top
of the dashboard (1b).

Insert a small screwdriver in the socket as illustrated
Twist the screwdriver so that the holders open. At the same
time, press the connector out to the side
Connect the violet (VO) cable to terminal 18
Reinstall the connector
Reinstall the cover on the connector
Reconnect the connectors to the fuse holder. Tighten the screw.

Note!

Install the red (R) cable (1) in position 13. Press the cable into
the fuse holder from the reverse
Install a 30 A fuse from the kit in position 13
Reinstall the fuse holder.

Route the ground lead (1) along the cable harness for the fuse
holder over the wheel arch and on to the rear ground terminal
under the left-hand seat cushion on the rear seat
Clamp the cable at the cable harness for the fuse holder and
wiring. Clamp it at the drainage hose. Use the tie straps (2) from
the kit as illustrated
Hide the ground lead under the insulation panel if possible.

Fold the insulation panel out of the way
Connect the ground lead (1) to the rear ground terminal (2)
Fold the insulation panel back into place
Reconnect the battery ground lead
Reinstall the protective cover for the battery
Reinstall the left-hand side panel
Reinstall the rear insulation panels
Reinstall the side cushion
Fold the seat cushion and backrest back into place
Reinstall the folding side panels.

Thread the strap (1) from the kit into the jack and tool bag holder
(2)
Place the tool bag and the jack in the holder. Tighten the tool
bag and the jack in place using the strap.

Install the jack and tool bag above the spare wheel. Push the
jack and tool bag towards the front of the spare wheel well and
cable duct (1) as illustrated.

Take the subwoofer and position it in the three mounting points:
the hole in the rear cross member (1), the right-hand mounting
point (2) for the removed storage box and the two pins (3) for the
battery holder
If necessary: Slacken off the knob (4) so that the mounting
aligns on the studs.

Press the subwoofer into place on the right-hand side of the
cargo compartment. Turn the clip (1) 90º.
Tighten the subwoofer using the knob (2)
Reinstall the holder for the battery. Tighten the screw and the
two nuts.

Connect the two connectors on the routed cable (1) to the two
connectors from the subwoofer
Press the cable into the cable duct (2).

Reinstall the rear floor hatch.
