Structure
Automatic sen-
sor recognition
The sensor electronics with the stored sensor data is in the connecting head.
The data include, among other things, the sensor type and series number. With
each calibration, the calibration data is written in the sensor and the calibration
history is recorded. The data is recalled by the meter when the sensor is
connected and is used for measurement and for measured value documen-
tation. Storing the calibration data in the sensor ensures that the correct cell
constant is automatically used if the sensor is operated with several meters.
The digital transmission technique guarantees the failure-free communication
with the meter even with long connection cables. If the sensor firmware is
enhanced by VWR, it can be updated with the meter.

Concentrated or highly oxidizing acids and organic solvents can damage
or destroy the sensor.

Commissioning Connect the sensor to the meter.
Cleaning
NOTE
To clean the sensor, disconnect it from the instrument.
Outside clean-
ing
We recommend to clean the sensor thoroughly, especially before measuring low
conductivity values.
After cleaning, thoroughly rinse with deionized water and recalibrate if
necessary.
Aging of the
conductivity
measuring cell
Normally, the conductivity measuring cell does not age. Special measuring
media (e.g. strong acids and bases, organic solvents) or temperatures that are
too high may considerably reduce its lifetime or lead to damage. The warranty
does not cover failure caused by measuring conditions and mechanical
damage.
Disposal We recommend to dispose of the measuring cell as electronic waste.
Contamination Cleaning procedure
Lime sediments Immerse in acetic acid for 5 minutes (volume
share = 10 %)
Fat/oil Clean with warm water that contains wash-
ing-up liquid

Aufbau
Automatische
Sensorerken-
nung
Im Abschlusskopf befindet sich die Sensorelektronik mit den gespeicherten
Sensordaten. Die Daten enthalten unter anderem Sensortyp und Serien-
nummer. Außerdem werden die Kalibrierdaten bei jeder Kalibrierung in den
Sensor geschrieben und die Kalibrierhistorie aufgezeichnet. Die Daten werden
beim Anschließen des Sensors durch das Messgerät abgerufen und zur
Messung sowie zur Messwertdokumentation verwendet. Durch die Speicherung
der Kalibrierdaten im Sensor wird beim Betrieb mit mehreren Messgeräten
automatisch immer die richtige Zellenkonstante verwendet.
Die digitale Übertragungstechnik gewährleistet eine störungsfreie Kommuni-
kation mit dem Messgerät, auch bei langen Anschlusskabeln. Die Sensor-
firmware kann bei Weiterentwicklung durch VWR über das Messgerät
aktualisiert werden.

Inbetriebnahme Schließen Sie den Sensor an das Messgerät an.
Reinigung
HINWEIS
Zum Reinigen den Sensor vom Gerät abziehen.
Äußere
Reinigung
Wir empfehlen eine gründliche Reinigung besonders vor dem Messen niedriger
Leitfähigkeitswerte.
Nach dem Reinigen gründlich mit entionisiertem Wasser spülen und gegebe-
nenfalls neu kalibrieren.
Alterung der
Leitfähigkeits-
messzelle
In der Regel altert die Leitfähigkeitsmesszelle nicht. Spezielle Messmedien
(z. B. starke Säuren und Laugen, organische Lösungsmittel) oder zu hohe
Temperaturen verkürzen erheblich die Lebensdauer bzw. führen zu Beschädi-
gungen. Führen derartige Bedingungen zu Ausfällen oder mechanischen
Beschädingungen, besteht kein Garantieanspruch.
Entsorgung Wir empfehlen die Entsorgung als Elektronikschrott.
Verunreinigung Reinigungsverfahren
Kalkablagerung 5 Minuten in Essigsäure (Volumenanteil =
10 %) tauchen
Fett/Öl mit warmen spülmittelhaltigen Wasser
spülen
