Towbar
1. Position sidearm (B) against the inside of the chassis rail, on both chassis rails 6 M12 set
screws and 4 galvanized ‘L’tabs will need to be removed, don’t discard.
2. Bolt the chassis end braces (C) to the outside of the chassis extension and the sidearms
(B) to the other side of the chassis extension, then replace the ‘L’tabs over the top of the
towbar metal work to their original positions, slightly bending if needed. Loosely attach
everything with fixings (F), making sure the bushes are inside the chassis rail. Re-bolt the
top of the ‘L’tab with the short M12 bolt and nut.
3. Secure the main crossbar between the sidearms and braces using fixings (E).
4. ZE and ZN can now be attached.
5. Torque all bolts up to their recommended torque, starting with fixings E.
Chassis Strenghteners
1. Remove 8 M12 set screws from where the chassis extension meets the chassis rails, also
remove the ‘L’tab on each outer face or the chassis extensions and discard.
2. Place the chassis strengtheners on the outer side of the chassis rails and fix on with the
4 M12 set screws and nuts previously removed.
3. The short M12 bolt and nut removed with the ‘L’tab can be used to secure the tab on the
strengthener to where the ‘L’tab originally sat.
4. Use the nut strap and bolt (H) to secure the other tab to the bottom edge of the chassis
rail.
5. Finally using fixings (G), fasten the end of the strengtherner through the chassis extension
with the bush tube in between.
6. Torque up all fixings.
Recommended torque settings: Grade 8.8 bolts: M10 - 52 Nm, M12 - 95 Nm
