Allpersonsinvolvedintheset-up,commissioning,operation,maintenance,repair
andservicingofthemachinemusthavereadandunderstoodtheusermanual
beforehand,andthechapteronSafetyinparticular.Werecommendtotheowner
ofthisunittohavethisconrmedinwriting.
Inprincipleyoushouldrefrainfromanyworkmethodthatwouldaffectthesafety
of productsandtheoperatingpersonnel.

Pleaserememberthatdualcomponentsystemsworkwithextremelyhighpres-
suresandmaycauselifethreateninginjuriesifusedinappropriately.
Alwayspayattentiontoandfollowallnotesintheusermanualsfortheoptionally
offeredaccessoryequipment.Payparticularattentiontothechapteronsafety
notesforthecorrespondingcomponents.
Please comply with the following instructions:
➤Neverpointthespraygunatyourself,otherpersonsorotherlivingbeings!
➤Neverholdyourngersorhandinfrontofthespraygunandneverreachinto
thejetspray.
➤Materialhosesmustbeabletowithstandpressuresbeyondthemaximum
workingpressure.
➤Materialhosesmustneverberepaired!
➤Nevertrytosealleakagesonconnectionsandhighpressurehosesbyhand
orbywrappingfabricaroundthem.Incaseofleakagesimmediatelydepres-
surizetheentiresystem(spraygun,hose,pump,etc.).Defectivepartsmust
bereplaced.
➤Securethespraygun(s)eachtimeworkisinterrupted,evenforshortbreaks,
andcheckthatitisproperlysecured,(Figure 2.1).
➤Switchoffthemachinebeforestartingmaintenanceandcleaningworkonthe
unitandthesprayingaccessories,(Figure 2.2).
➤Incaseofmaterialcongestionoragglomerationofmaterialinthespraying
system,residualpressurescanstillbepresentdespitepressuredischarge.
Payfullattentiontothiswhenperformingrepairwork!
➤Materialhosesandsprayguninparticularmustbedisassembledwithgreat-
estcaretoavoidaccidentscausedbyreleasedresidualpressures.
➤Whendisconnectingmaterialhoseswerecommendtocoverthescrewtting
withaclothtocatchanyescapingmaterialsprays.

➤Inclosedroomsorwithpressurizedsystems,inwhichaluminiumcomponents
orgalvanizedpartshavecontactwiththesolvent,hazardouschemicalreac-
tionsmayoccurwhenusing1.1.1-trichloroethane(TCE),methylenechloride
orothersolventscontainingchlorinatedhydrocarbons(CFCs).Ifyouwish
tousetheaforementionedsolventsorvarnishesandpaintscontainingsuch
solvents,weadviseyoutoconsultthe -customerserviceor
directly.
➤Wewouldliketopointoutthatwehaveaseriesofdualcomponentsys-
temsinrustandacidproofdesignavailableforsuchmaterials.
➤DANGEROFBURNING!
Dependingonthesettemperature,theoutersurfaceoftheadaptercanheat
upconsiderably.Youshouldthereforealwayswearprotectivegloveswhen
havingtoworkontheadapter!
➤Changingthemixingratiomaycauseachangeinpressureratioandthus
requiretheadaptationofthemax.permissibleairinletpressure.Inthiscase
theexistingsafetyvalvemustbereplaced.Consultationwith is highly
recommended.
➤Thesystemshouldneverbeoperatedwithoutsafetyvalve!
Ifthesafetyvalveneedstobereplaced,youcanndthecorrespondingorder
numberonthemachinecard.
➤Themaximumoperatingpressurespeciedbyusmustgenerallybeadhered
to for all parts(e.g.pump,heater,hoses,spraygun,safetyvalve).
Atvaryingoperatingpressuresthelowestvalueisalwaysvalidasthemaximum
admissibleoperatingpressurefortheentiresystem.
➤Generalexample:
Pump upto250bar/3625psi
Materialhose upto600bar/8700psi
Spraygun upto240bar/3480psi
Themaximumpermissibleoperatingpressurefortheentiresysteminthisexam-
pleis240bar.
➤Whenusinginatmospherescontainingsolventsthereisthedangerthatthe
powercablecouldbecomeawedorporous.
➤Thereforethepowercablemustbecheckedforexternallyvisibledamage
beforeeachstart-up.
➤Neverrepairapowercable.Damagedpowercablesmustalwaysbecom-
pletelyreplaced.
➤Thisworkmustbecarriedoutbyaprofessionalelectrician.

➤Alwaysuseopencontainers.Standthecontainersonagroundedsurface.
Whenusingmetalcontainersavoidcontactbetweenspraygunandcontainer
wall,becauseofpossibleelectrostaticcharging.
ThehighowvelocitiesassociatedwiththeAirlesssprayingmethodmay
causestaticcharging.Staticdischargescancausereandexplosion.
The original DUOMIXPU280isearthedviatheelectricalconnectionas
standard.
➤Neveroperatetheunitoutsideincaseofathunderstorm.
➤Becauseofthegeneratedelectrostaticchargingyoushouldonlyuseconduc-
tivematerialhoses.Alloriginal materialhosesareconductiveandper-
fectlymatchedtoourequipment.Themaximumpermittedworkingpressures
ofthehosesmustbehigherthanorequalthemaximumoperatingpressureof
thecorrespondingdualcomponentsystem.
➤Switchoffallheaterswhenworkingwithcleaningagentsinthematerialcircuit
(e.g.completecleaning).
Completecleaningmustonlybeperformedafterthesystemhascooleddown.
➤The system must NOT be operated in explosion protection zones!
Sprayingequipmentdesignedwithoutexplosionprotectionmustnotbeusedin
workshopsthatcomeundertheexplosionprotectionordinance.
Juvenilesundertheageof16havenopermissiontooperatethisequipment.
Theownerofthemachinemustensurethattheusermanualismadeavailableto
theuserandmakesurethattheuserhasreadandunderstooditscontents.

➤Wewouldliketopointoutthatthevalidguidelinesandstipulationsdepending
ontheworkenvironment(mining,closedrooms,etc.)mustberespectedin
anycase.
➤Alwaysweartheprotectiveclothesspeciedbythematerialmanufacturerto
avoidinjuries.
➤Itisrecommendedthattheoperatorshouldalwaysweararespiratoryprotec-
tionmask,eventhoughthepaintmisthasbeenminimizedinAirlessspray
paintingapplicationswithcorrectpressuresettingandworkingmode.
➤Wearprotectivegogglestoprotectagainsteyeinjuriescausedbymechanical
orchemicalinuences.
➤Wearprotectivegloveswithlowerarmprotectiontoavoidburninjuries.
➤Thesoundpressurelevelofthisunitislessthan85db(A).
However,operatingpersonnelshouldstillbeprovidedwithsuitablenoise
protectionequipment.
Allunitsaredeliveredwiththefollowingsafetyfeatures:
Master switch, (Figure 2.3)
Whenthemasterswitchonthecontrolcabinetisswitchedtoposition“0/OFF”
boththeelectricpowerandcompressedairsuppliedareimmediatelycutoff.
Note:
➤Thecompressedairsupplytothesprayisnotinterrupted!
➤Materialmaystillbeunderpressureinthesystem!

permissibleairinletpressureisnotexceeded.Thesafetyvalvewillopenandvent
offairwhentheairinletpressureexceedsthesetlimitingvalue.

peratureinthematerialowheatersisexceeded.Thismalfunctionissignalized
onthecontrolcabinet.
Afterthematerialowheaterhascooleddownandthemalfunctionhasbeen
acknowledged,theplantcanbeoperatedagain.

Inthefactorybothpressurereliefvalvesweresettothemaximumadmissible
operatingpressure.Whenthisvalueisexceededtheequipment,includingthe
heaters,willswitchoffcompletely.
Thismalfunctionissignalizedonthecontrolcabinet.
Troublefreeoperationcanonlyberesumedafterthepressureonthecorrespond-
ingcomponentshasbeenrelieved.

Theairpressurevalvemustbelockedforeachbreak,evenforshortinterruptions
ofwork.Slidetheairvalvetoposition“CLOSED/0”todoso.

➤Followthesafetynotesanddosinginformationofthemanufacturersandthe
generallyapplicableregulationswhenhandlingsprayingmaterials,cleaning
agents,oils,greasesandotherchemicalsubstances.
➤Incaseofleakagesthesystemmustbeshutdownimmediatelyandthecom-
pletesystemmustbedepressurized:
➤SwitchofftheunitbytheEMERGENCYSTOPswitch .
➤Makesurethatthesystemhasbeendepressurized.
➤Immediatelyreplacethedefectivepartsorhavethesereplaced.
➤Immediatelyconsultaphysicianifinjuredwhenhandlinguidjets(becauseof
theircuttingeffect)!
➤Readandcomplywiththeinstructionsforrealarmandescaperoutes,which
aredisplayedinyourfactoryoratanyworkplace.
➤Onlyusetheextinguishingsubstancesstipulatedbythematerialmanufac-
turer.
Attention!
If any of the safety fea-
turesisnotfullyfunctional
oranyotherfaultisfound
onthemachine,the
systemmustbeshutdown
immediately.

The DUOMIXPU280ismostsuitablefortheapplicationofsolventfree
dual-componentplasticmaterials(polyurea).Thissystemenablestheseamless
andjointlessapplicationofcoatingsandlinings
Yourdualcomponentsystemwasdesignedtomeetyourspecialrequirements
(materialtobeapplied,mixingratio,transferquantity,etc.).
Exactmeteringofbothcomponentsisassuredbythexedmixingratio.Themix-
ingratiocanonlybechangedbyexchangingthematerialpumps.
Anyotheruseisdeemedtonotbeinaccordancewithregulations.
Themanufacturer'sapprovalmustbeobtainedbefore unitsareusedfor

Afeedpumpmustbeplacedintothedelivereddrum(200lbungholebarrels)of
eachcomponent.
WerecommendtoequipthedrumwiththeIso-component(isocyanate)withan
additionalsilicagellter,topreventthematerialfromreactingwithhumidityand
thuscrystallizationofthematerial.
Bothcomponentsarefedtothemeteringpumpandexactlymeteredwiththe
respectivemixingratio(seemachinecard).
Eachcomponentisindividuallyheatedtotherequiredprocessingtemperaturein
amaterialowheater.Thetemperatureisautomaticallyregulatedinaccordance
withthetemperaturesetting.Presettoptemperaturelimitsmakesurethatthema-
terialwillnotbeoverheated.Forshortbreakstheheatingmayremainswitched
on.
Afterthematerialowheater,thematerialarrives:
a) forspraying:tothespraygun
b) toventthesystem:backintothedelivereddrum(onlyoptional).
Whensprayingthematerialisdirectedthroughtheheatedhosepackagetothe
spraygun.Thehosepackagecontainsacompressedairlinetosupplythespray
gunwithcompressedair,aswellasamaterialhoseforeachcomponentwitha
3mwhipend.Thetemperaturesensorisintegratedinthewhipend.
Mixingofmaterialonlytakesplaceinthepneumaticallycontrolledspraygun,the
spraypatterncanbepneumaticallyinuencedwiththejetregulatingscrew,as
required.
Thematerialowiscontrolledbyopeningandclosingthemixingchamber.With
thespraygunclosedthematerialresidueinthemixingchamberismechanically
forcedout.Amaterialplugthatmaypossiblybestuckintheoutletopeningcanbe
removedwiththehelpofcompressedair.

Thecompressedairsupplyprovidedbythecustomerisconnectedtothemain-
