le and its actuatin element
may be used only within the specified ambient
and operatin temperature ran e.
Utilisation in areas other than those specified or
the modification of the product by anyone other
than the manufacturer will exempt BARTEC
from liability for defects or any further liability.
Incorrect installation can cause malfunctionin
and the loss of explosion protection.
The switch module may be connected and
mounted only by qualified personnel who are
authorised and trained to assemble electri
components in hazardous (potentially explo-
sive) areas.
Always disconnect the switch module from
volta e before assembly or disassembly.
The enerally applicable statutory rules and
other bindin directives relatin to workplace
safety, accident preventio
protection must be adhered to.
The switch module may be used only if it is
clean and not dama ed in any way.

Particularly important points in these instruc-
tions are marked with a symbol:
DANGER
Non-observance leads to death
physical injury. The necessary safety measures
must be taken.

and penal disadvantages (e.g. loss of guaran-
tee rights, liability etc.).

Assembl and Commissioning
NOTE
The assembly of the switch module and actu
tor is described in the operating instructions for
the actuating elements.
Assembl /disassembl
ATTENTION
Only authorised and qualified personnel may
do any of the assembly, disassembly, install
tion and commissioning work.
The minimum centre-to-centre spacing b
tween two mounting holes must be observed.
Make sure the switch module to be fitted is
intact (no cracks and no damage to the cable).
Position the switch module’s bayonet lock at
the m
ounted actuatin element and turn the
closin latch to connect it securely to the act
atin element.
Installation
The switchin module is to be installed as a
stationary unit and with protection a ainst the
risk of mechanical dama e.
The free end of the c
connected either in the safe area or in Groups I
and II hazardous areas with an appropriate
enclosure ensurin “Ex e” increased safety or
an enclosure that conforms to another a
proved type of protection under EN 60079-
Section 1.
When installin in an enclosure with the "Ex e"
type of protection, the clearance and creepa e
distances as in EN 60079-7 Section 4.3, Se
tion 4.4 and Table 1 must be complied with at
the conductor ends.
Only suitable tools may be used for installation
wor
k. It is not permissible to modify the module
in any way.
The cable is to be fixed in a way that prevents
mechanical strain (between the illuminated
button and connection cable and between the
junction box and the cable). The minimum
bendin radius of the
cable must be at least 29
mm.
ATTENTION
Avoid any capacitive influence from parallel
conductors as well as any additional adverse
heat effects on the cable.
Commissioning
Before commissionin check that:
• the device has been installed correctly
• the device is not dama ed
• the connection has been established
properly
Operation, Maintenance and
Fault Clearance
The operator of the switch module must keep it
in ood condition, operate it properly, monitor it
and clean it re ularly. The switch module,
actuator
, sealin s and cables must be checked
re ularly for cracks and dama e.
NOTE
Dirty modules/actuators can be cleaned with
compressed air.
The switch module is defective if the switchin
unit does not perform switchin functions any
lon er. Defective switc
repaired; they must be replaced.
Defective actuators can be removed and r
placed by functionin actuators of the same
type.
Accessories, Spare Parts
See BARTEC catalo ue also.
Disposal
The components in the switch module contain
metal and plastic parts.
Therefore the statutory requirements for electr
cal scrap must be observed (e. . disposal by
an approved disposal company).
