1 Description and Intended Purpose
Please keep these instructions.
The term device is used throughout this document to refer to EchelonVT .
Application
This device is to be used exclusively as part of a lower limb prosthesis.
Intended for single user.
The device provides limited self-alignment of the prosthesis on varied terrain and following
footwear changes. It is intended to improve on postural sway and symmetry while easing
abnormal pressures at the socket interface.
The device also includes a spring element capable of absorbing axial and rotational shocks
intended to reduce shear stresses at the residuum/socket interface.
2 Safety Information
This warning symbol highlights important safety information which must be
followed carefully.
Any changes in the performance or
function of the limb e.g. restricted
movement, non-smooth motion or
unusual noises should be immediately
reported to your service provider.
Always use a hand rail when descending
stairs and at any other time if available.
The device is not suitable for extreme
sports, running or cycle racing, ice and
snow sports, extreme slopes and steps.
Any such activities undertaken are done
so completely at the users’ own risk.
Recreational cycling is acceptable.
Assembly, maintenance and repair of
the device must only be carried out by
a suitably qualied clinician.
The user should contact their clinician if
their condition changes.
Ensure only suitably retrotted vehicles
are used when driving. All persons are
required to observe their respective
driving laws when operating motor
vehicles.
To minimise the risk of slipping and
tripping, appropriate footwear that
ts securely onto the footshell must be
used at all times.
After continuous use the ankle casing
may become hot to the touch.
Avoid exposure to extreme heat and/
or cold.
The user must not adjust or tamper
with the setup of the device.
Be aware of nger trap hazard at all
times.

6 Limitations on Use
Intended life:
A local risk assessment should be carried out based upon activity and usage.
Lifting loads:
User weight and activity is governed by the stated limits.
Load carrying by the user should be based on a local risk assessment.
Environment
Avoid exposing the device to corrosive elements such
as water, acids and other liquids. Also avoid abrasive
environments such as those containing sand for example as
these may promote premature wear.
Exclusively for use between -15˚C and 50˚C (5˚F to 122˚F).
Maintenance must be carried out by competent personnel.
We recommend a regular visual check at least annually. Signs of wear that may aect function
should be reported to their service provider (e.g. signicant wear or excessive discoloration from
long term exposure to UV).
Any changes in performance of this device must be reported to the practitioner.
Changes in performance may include:
• Increase in ankle stiness
• Changes in axial or torsional stiness
• Reduced ankle support (free movement)
• Softening of springs
• Excessive play in bearings
• Any unusual noise
The practitioner must also be informed of any changes in body weight and/or activity level.
Cleaning
Use a damp cloth and mild soap to clean outside surfaces. Do not use aggressive cleansers.
The device comprises a hydraulic body assembly containing adjustable hydraulic valves.
The valves can be independently adjusted to increase and reduce hydraulic resistance to
plantarexion and dorsiexion.
The proximal part of the hydraulic body assembly contains a spring component that allows
the pyramid tube to deect and/or rotate through a limited range under an axial and/or
torsional load. When the load is removed the spring returns to its original position. The eect
of this movement is to attenuate any shock forces that would otherwise be transmitted to the
residuum/socket interface both in axial and rotational directions.
The hydraulic body assembly is connected to a carrier assembly via two pivot pins. Heel and toe
springs are attached to the carrier using titanium and stainless steel screws. The foot is wrapped
in a UHM PE sock which is in turn surrounded by a PU foot shell.

The manufacturer recommends using the device only under the specied conditions and for
the intended purposes. The device must be maintained according to the instructions for use
supplied with the device. The manufacturer is not liable for any adverse outcome caused by any
component combinations that were not authorized by them.
CE Conformity
This product meets the requirements of the European Regulation EU 2017/745 for medical
devices. This product has been classied as a class I device according to the classication rules
outlined in Annex VIII of the regulation. The EU declaration of conformity certicate is available at

Warranty
The device is warranted for 36 months - foot shell 12 months - glide sock 3 months. The user
should be aware that changes or modications not expressly approved could void the warranty,
operating licenses and exemptions. See Blatchford website for the current full warranty

Reporting of Serious Incidents
In the unlikely event of a serious incident occurring in relation to this device it should be
reported to the manufacturer and your national competent authority.
Environmental Aspects
Where possible the components should be recycled in accordance with local waste handling
regulations.

1 Description et usage prévu
Veuillez conserver ces instructions.
Le terme dispositif est utilisé dans ce document pour faire référence à EchelonVT.
Application
Ce dispositif doit être utilisé exclusivement en tant qu’élément d’une prothèse de membre
inférieur.
Destiné à un usage individuel.
Le dispositif fournit un alignement automatique limité de la prothèse sur divers terrains et en cas
de changement de chaussure. Il est conçu pour améliorer l’équilibre et la symétrie de la posture
tout en atténuant les pressions anormales sur l’interface de l’emboîture.
Ce dispositif englobe également un élément à ressort capable d’absorber les chocs axiaux et de
rotation an de réduire les fortes contraintes au niveau de l’interface de l’emboîture.
2 Informations de sécurité
Les symboles de précaution soulignent les informations de sécurité qui
doivent être soigneusement respectées.
Toute variation des performances ou
du fonctionnement du membre (par
ex. amplitude restreinte, rigidité du
mouvement, mouvement dicile
ou bruits inhabituels) doit être
immédiatement signalée à votre
orthoprothésiste.
Toujours tenir la rampe lors d’un
déplacement dans des escaliers et
chaque fois que c’est possible.
Le dispositif n’est pas adapté aux sports
extrêmes comme: la course à pied et le
cyclisme en compétition, les sports de
neige ou sur glace et les pentes fortes
et les marches hautes. La pratique de
telles activités se fait sous l’entière
responsabilité de l’utilisateur. Par
contre il n’y a aucune contre-indication
à la pratique du vélo comme loisir.
Le montage, l’entretien et les
réparations du dispositif doivent
uniquement être eectués par un
orthoprothésiste qualié.
L’utilisateur doit contacter son
orthoprothésiste si sa situation change.
Assurez-vous de conduire uniquement
des véhicules convenablement adaptés.
Chaque personne doit respecter les
règles de la route du pays où elle se
trouve lorsqu’elle utilise un véhicule
motorisé.
Pour réduire les risques de glissade
et de trébuchement, l’utilisateur
doit toujours porter des chaussures
maintenant bien l’enveloppe du pied.
Après une utilisation ou un chargement
continus, l’habillage de la cheville peut
devenir chaud au toucher.
Éviter une exposition à une chaleur/un
froid extrême.
L’utilisateur ne doit pas ajuster ni forcer
le paramétrage du dispositif.
Faites bien attention à ne pas vous
coincer les doigts.

Durée de vie prévue
Une évaluation des risques locaux doit être eectuée en fonction de l’activité et de l’utilisation.
Port de charges
Le poids et l’activité de l’amputé sont régis par les limites indiquées. Le port de charges par
l’amputé doit être basé sur une évaluation des risques locaux
Environnement
Éviter d’exposer le dispositif à des substances corrosives telles que l’eau, les acides et autres
liquides. Éviter également les environnements
abrasifs, par exemple la présence de sable, car ils
peuvent favoriser une usure prématurée.
Exclusivement pour une utilisation de
-15°C à 50°C.
L’entretien doit être eectué par du personnel qualié.
Nous vous conseillons d’inspecter visuellement le dispositif régulièrement, au moins une fois
par an. Les signes d’usure susceptibles d’aecter le fonctionnement doivent être signalés à son
orthoprothésiste (ex.: toute usure importante ou décoloration excessive suite à une exposition
prolongée aux UV).
Tout changement de performance du dispositif en matière de performance doit être signalé à
l’orthoprothésiste.
Les changements de performance peuvent inclure :
• Augmentation de la rigidité de la cheville
• Changements de la rigidité axiale ou de torsion
• Réduction du soutien de la cheville (liberté de mouvements)
• Assouplissement important des lames
• Jeu excessif
• Bruit inhabituel
L’orthoprothésiste doit également être informé de tout changement dans le poids corporel et /
ou le niveau d’activité du patient.
Nettoyage
Utiliser un chion humide et un savon doux pour nettoyer les surfaces extérieures. Ne pas utiliser
de détergent agressif.
Le dispositif comporte un corps hydraulique contenant des valves réglables. Les valves peuvent
être ajustées de manière indépendante pour augmenter ou réduire la résistance hydraulique à la
exion plantaire et/ou dorsale.
La section proximale de la structure contient un système à ressort. Celui-ci permet au tube
pyramide de s’enfoncer et pivoter sous une charge et/ou une torsion axiale (sur une plage
limitée). Lorsque la charge est supprimée, le ressort revient à sa position initiale. L’eet de
ce mouvement vise à atténuer les eorts des chocs qui seraient sinon transmis à l’interface
moignon / emboîture aussi bien dans le sens axial que lors d’une rotation.
Cet ensemble est connecté à un support à l’aide de deux pivots. Les lames de talon et d’avant-
pied sont xées au support par des vis en inox et titane. Le pied est enveloppé dans une
chaussette en PE UHM qui est insérée dans une enveloppe de pied en PU.

bezieht, verwendet.
Anwendung
Dieses Produkt ist ausschließlich als Teil einer Prothese für die untere Extremität bestimmt.
Nur zur Verwendung durch einen Anwender
Das Produkt bietet eine begrenzte Selbstanpassung der Prothese auf unterschiedlichem
Untergrund und beim Tragen von unterschiedlichen Schuhwerk.
Zudem soll es die Körperhaltung und Symmetrie verbessern und ungewöhnlichen Druck auf den
Stumpf vermindern.
2 Sicherheitsinformationen
Das Warnsymbol hebt die Sicherheitshinweise hervor, die genau beachtet
werden müssen.
Jegliche Veränderungen der Leistung
oder Funktion der Prothese, wie z.B.
Einschränkungen in der Bewegung,
eine unrunde Bewegung oder
ungewöhnliche Geräusche, sollten
umgehend Ihrem Fachpersonal
mitgeteilt werden.
Benutzen Sie beim Treppen-abgehen
oder in anderen Situationen immer ein
Geländer, falls vorhanden.
Das Produkt ist nicht für Extremsport,
Rennen oder Radrennfahren,
Wintersport, extreme Schrägen und
Stufen geeignet. Aktivitäten dieser
Art erfolgen auf das eigene Risiko des
Anwenders. Das Fahrradfahren als
Freizeitaktivität ist gestattet.
Montage, Wartung und Reparatur des
Produktes dürfen nur von entsprechend
qualizierten Technikern durchgeführt
werden.
Weisen Sie den Anwender darauf hin,
dass er den Techniker kontaktieren soll,
wenn sich sein persönlicher Zustand
verändert.
Weisen Sie den Anwender darauf hin,
dass dieser nur mit entsprechend
nachgerüsteten Fahrzeugen fahren
sollte. Beim Führen eines Fahrzeugs
ist die im jeweiligen Land geltende
Straßenverkehrsordnung einzuhalten.

Schuhwerk getragen werden, das zu
jeder Zeit sicher auf die Fußkosmetik
passen sollte.
Nach einem längeren Einsatz oder nach
dem Laden kann sich das Gehäuse des
Knöchelgelenks warm anfühlen.
Setzen Sie das Produkt nicht starken
Temperaturschwankungen aus.
Der Anwender darf das Anpassungs-
programm des Geräts nicht selbst
verändern oder anpassen.
Achten Sie zu jeder Zeit darauf, dass
Finger nicht eingeklemmt werden
können.

Empfohlene Nutzungsdauer
Eine individuelle Risikoeinschätzung sollte aufgrund von Mobilitätsklasse und Nutzungsgrad
durchgeführt werden.
Tragen von Lasten
Das Körpergewicht des Amputierten darf die angegebene Höchstgrenze nicht überschreiten.
Zusätzliche Tragelasten sind zu berücksichtigen.
Umwelt
Vermeiden Sie, dass der Fuß mit korrosiven Elementen
wie Wasser, Säuren und anderen Flüssigkeiten in
Berührung kommt. Agressive Umweltelemente wie zum
Beispiel Sand sollten ebenfalls vermieden werden,
da diese zu einer vorzeitigen Abnutzung führen können.
Das Produkt ist nur für die Nutzung bei Temperaturen
zwischen -15°C und 50°C vorgesehen.
Die Wartung muss vom Fachpersonal durchgeführt werden.
Wir empfehlen eine regelmäßige Sichtprüfung, die mindestens jedoch einmal jährlich
auszuführen ist. Verschleiß, der sich möglicherweise auf die Funktion auswirkt, muss dem
Leistungserbringer berichtet werden (z.B. erheblicher Verschleiß oder übermäßige Verfärbung
aufgrund von UV-Licht).
Alle Änderungen in der Leistung/Funktion des Produktes müssen dem Fachpersonal/Techniker
mitgeteilt werden.
Änderungen in der Leistung/Funktion können beinhalten:
• Erhöhter Bewegungswiderstand des Knöchelelementes
• Änderungen in der Stoß-und Torsionshärte
• Verminderte Knöchel-Stabilität (freie Bewegung)
• Ermüdung der Federn
• Übermäßiges Lagerspiel
• Ungewöhnliche Geräusche
Bei Veränderung des Anwendergewichtes oder der Mobilitätsklasse muss das Fachpersonal
ebenfalls unverzüglich informiert werden.
Reinigungs - und Desinfektionshinweise
Das Produkt kann mit ph-neutraler Seife und handwarmem Wasser gereinigt werden. Aggressive
Reinigungsmittel dürfen nicht verwendet werden, da diese insbesondere die Formstabilität der
Fusskosmetik negativ beeinussen könnten.
Das Produkt umfasst eine hydraulische Körpereinheit, die einstellbare Ventile enthält. Die Ventile
können unabhängig voneinander eingestellt werden, um den hydraulischen Widerstand in der
Plantar-und Dorsalexion zu erhöhen oder zu reduzieren.
Der proximale Teil der hydraulischen Körpereinheit enthält eine Feder-Komponente, die
dem Pyramidenrohr eine Dämpfung und / oder eine Rotation unter Stoß- und /oder
Torsionsbelastung in einem begrenzten Bereich ermöglicht. Bei Entlastung kehrt die Feder
wieder in ihre ursprüngliche Position zurück. Die Aufgabe dieser Bewegung ist es, Stoß –und
Scherkräfte, die sonst auf den Stumpf sowohl in Axial-und Drehrichtungen übertragen worden
wären, zu dämpfen.
Die hydraulische Körpereinheit ist mit der Trägereinheit durch zwei Gelenkbolzen verbunden.
Die Fersen- und Vorfußfedern sind durch Schrauben aus Titan und Edelstahl am Träger befestigt.
Über das Fußinnenteil ist eine UHM PE Gleitsocke gestülpt. Der Fuß in eine UHM PE Fußkosmetik
integriert.
