INTRODUCTION
Read the operang instrucons carefully and thoroughly before assembling and operang the device. The operang instrucons are intended to help the user
become familiar with the tool and take advantage of its applicaon possibilies in accordance with all recommendaons. Read the instrucon manual each
me before operang the machine and carefully follow all informaon.
The instrucon manual forms part of this device. Keep the operang instrucons manual with the machine at all mes and store it in a plasc cover to protect
it from dirt and moisture. Make sure to hand over all associated documents in the event that the device is passed on to another user.
The machine can only be operated by persons who were instructed concerning the operaon of the machine and who are informed about the associated
dangers.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Note: The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or baery-operated (cordless) power tool.
General safety instrucons
• Keep your work area dy. An undy workplace can lead to accidents.
• Consider environment inuences. Do not expose power tools to rain. Do not use power tools in damp or wet surroundings.
• Ensure the work area is adequately lit.
• Do not use power tools where there is a re or explosion hazard.
• Protect yourself against electric shock. Avoid body contact with earthed parts (e.g. pipes, radiators, electric cookers, refrigerators).
• Keep other people away. Do not allow other people, especially children, to touch the power tool or cable. Keep them away from your work area.
• Store unused power tools safely. Unused power tools should be stored in a dry, high or locked place, out of the reach of children.
• Do not overload your power tool. They work beer and more safely within the specied power range.
• Use the correct power tool. Do not use low-performance machines for heavy work. Do not use the power tool for purposes for which it is not intended. For
example, do not use a circular hand saw for cung tree branches or logs.
• Wear suitable work clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery that might become caught in moving parts. When working outdoors, non-slip footwear
is recommended. Wear a hair net to contain long hair.
• Use protecve equipment. Wear safety goggles. Use a dust mask for work which generates dust.
• Connect a dust extracon device. If connecons are available for dust extracon and collecon devices, make sure that these are connected and properly
used.
• Do not use the cable for purposes for which it is not intended. Do not use the cable to pull the plug from the socket. Protect the cable from heat, oil and sharp
edges. Damaged or undy cables increase the risk of electric shock.
• Secure the workpiece. Use jigs or a vice to hold the workpiece securely. This is safer than using your hand.
• Avoid abnormal body postures. Ensure secure foong and keep your balance at all mes.
• Maintain tools with care. Keep cung tools sharp and clean for beer and safer working. Follow the instrucons for lubricaon and changing tools. Regularly
check the connecon cable of the power tool and, if it is damaged, have it replaced by a qualied specialist. Check extension cords periodically and replace
them if they are damaged. Keep handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Remove the plug from the mains outlet. When the power tool is not in use,
before maintenance and when changing tools such as the saw blade, drill bit, milling cuer.
• Do not allow any tool keys to remain inserted. Check, before switching on, that keys and adjusng tools have been removed.
• Avoid unintenonal starng. Make sure that the switch is o when inserng the plug into the outlet.
• Use extension cables outdoors. Only use approved and appropriately marked extension cables outdoors.
• Pay aenon at all mes. Be aware of what you are doing and take the utmost care when working. Do not use the power tool if you cannot concentrate.
• Check the power tool for possible damage. Before further use of the power tool, safety devices or slightly damaged parts must be carefully examined in
respect of their proper and intended funcon.

• Check whether the moving parts are working properly and are not becoming jammed or whether parts are damaged. All parts must be correctly ed and
sasfy all condions to ensure the proper operaon of the power tool. Damaged safety equipment and parts must be repaired properly or replaced by an
authorised specialist workshop unless otherwise indicated in the instrucon manual.
• Do not use power tools if the switch cannot be turned on and o. Damaged switches must be replaced at a customer service workshop.
•CAUTION! Using other aachment tools and other accessories may represent a risk of injury to you.
• Have your power tool be repaired by a qualied electrician. Repairs may only be performed by a specialist workshop using original spare parts; otherwise
accidents involving the user may result.
Safety informaon for bandsaws
• Do not operate this tool near highly ammable liquids or gases.
• Wear protecve gloves when handling the band saw blade or raw materials.
• Always wear safety goggles while working.
• Always wear a face mask or dust mask.
• Replace worn table inserts.
• Never use damaged or deformed saw bands. Check the band saw blade carefully for cracks or other damage before use. Replace a band saw blade
immediately if it has cracks or other damage.
• Only use saw blades recommended by the manufacturer which conform to the standard EN 847-1 .
• Select a suitable band saw blade for the material to be cut and set a suitable speed.
• Only use accessory parts which are recommended in this instrucon manual. Using unsuitable accessory parts can lead to injuries.
• Make sure that the band saw blade is always sharp and clean so that the noise level is kept to a minimum.
• Do not operate the power tool when the guard protecng the saw blade is open.
• Connect the bandsaws to a dust extracon device when sawing wood.
• Remove spanners, sawdust etc. from the table before switching on the machine.
• Allow the tool to warm up for a while loadfree before you place the workpiece to be machined on the tool. Pay aenon to vibraons and impact; these
phenomena may indicate a damaged or improperly installed band saw blade.
• Do not cut metal objects such as nails or screws. Inspect the workpiece for nails, screws and other foreign materials and, if necessary, remove them before
starng work.
• Keep hands away from the band saw blade.
• Never stand in the cung direcon of the band saw blade and keep all persons away from this area.
• Use the push sck against the parallel guide when cung straight pieces from small workpieces.
• Aach the parallel guide to the lower part of the table for mitre cuts with a lted table.
• When cung round or unevenly shaped wood, use a suitable holding device that prevents the workpiece from twisng.
• Lower the saw band guard down as close as possible to the workpiece for all cung procedures.
• Secure long workpieces against lng at the end of the cung operaon, e.g. unwinding stand.
• Do not clean the band saw blade while it is sll running.
• Never use separang guards for liing or transporng.
• When transporng the power tool, the saw blade guard must be in the lowest posion near the table.
Residual risks
There will always be residual risks even if you operate this power tool according to the instrucons. The following hazards may occur in connecon with the
type and design of this power tool:
• Eye damage if no suitable eye protecon is worn.
• Cung injuries.
WARNING! Danger due to electromagnec eld generated while the machine is in operaon.
Under certain circumstances, this eld may negavely aect acve or passive medical implants. In order to reduce the danger of serious or fatal
injuries, we recommend that individuals who wear medical implants should consult their doctor and the manufacturer of the implant before
operang the machine.
PROPER USE
The band saw is a xed saw with a driven band saw blade which is closed to form a ring. The band saw allows precise cuts in wood and similar materials. This
device is only intended for cung hard and so wood, laminate or breboard.
Never saw metal or other materials for which the device is not expressly intended. Any other use that is not expressly permied in this instrucon manual may
pose a serious hazard to the user and result in damage to the device. The operator or user of the machine is responsible for any accidents or personal injury
and/or material damage to third pares or their property.
The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by improper use or incorrect operaon.

PREPARATION
Transport
Never use separang guards for liing or transporng.
Lower the upper guide (6) down as far as possible before transport.
Carry the machine with the base (19) in one hand and the frame (12) in the other.
Assembly
The machine is not ready for operaon on delivery. The following steps must be taken before using the machine for the rst me.
Tools required: Hex key (4 mm) (23)
Assemble the saw table
WARNING! Risk of injury due to unintenonal start-up. Do not insert the plug into the outlet unl the device is fully prepared for use.
WARNING! Cung injuries! Wear cut-resistant gloves when working with the saw blade.

1. Remove the handle screw (15), the locking handle (17) and the clamping plate (13) of the lt adjustment.
2. Remove one screw of the reinforcer (30) on the underside of the saw table (7). Turn the reinforcer so that the slot in the saw table is free.
3. Insert the saw table (7) from back to front. Guide the band saw blade (28) through the slot.
4. Fasten the saw table (7) with the clamping plate (13), the handle screw (15) and the locking handle (17). The recess of the clamping plate runs in the guide
on the underside of the saw table.
5. Fix the reinforcer (30) in its original posion.
6. Adjust the posion of the band saw blade (refer to the appropriate secon in this manual).
Control elements
Familiarise yourself with the operang elements before using the device for the rst me.
Upper guide (6)
CAUTION! Danger of cuts and damage! Always lower the upper guide with saw band guard (5) as closely as possible to the workpiece to be sawn.
This keeps the band saw blade covered and helps with the guiding of the blade.
1. CAUTION! Danger of cuts! Never move the upper guide (6) by hand. Loosen the retaining screw (9) of the height adjustment (8) for the upper guide.
2. Raise or lower the upper guide (6) by turning the height adjustment (8). Direcon of rotaon as seen from behind: ↻ Raise, ↺ Lower
3. Tighten the retaining screw.
Tilng the saw table
You can turn the locking handle (17) independently of the screw by pulling the locking handle away from the frame (12).
1. Loosen the locking handle (17) and the handle screw (15).
2. Tilt the saw table (7). The angle scale (16) shows the inclinaon.
3. Tighten the locking handle and the handle screw.
Opening the housing door
WARNING! Remove the mains plug from the outlet before opening the housing door.
1. Turn the door lock (4) ↺. Aer a maximum of 2 rotaons, the housing door (2) opens slightly. The safety switches interrupt the power circuit.
2. Turn the door lock further ↺ unl you can open the housing door.
Closing the housing door
1. Press and hold the housing door (2) against the frame (12).
2. Turn the door lock (4) ↻.
Safety devices
WARNING! Risk of injury due to damaged safety devices. Damaged safety equipment and parts must be repaired or replaced professionally by our
service centre, unless otherwise indicated in the operang instrucons.
The following safety devices protect you when you are working:
Saw band guard (5) on the upper guide (6)
Should be as low as possible when sawing. Protects the hands while sawing. Prevents body parts or objects from being pulled in by the band saw blade.
Safety lock
Consists of a pin (26) on the housing door and a safety switch (27) on the frame. Switches the machine o immediately if a housing door is opened during
operaon. Prevents body parts or objects from being pulled in by the band saw blade or wheels (25, 29).
Checking the machine before operaon
Check the machine carefully before each use.
WARNING! Risk of injury due to unintenonal start-up. Do not insert the plug into the socket unl the device is fully prepared for use.
Checking and replacing the table insert
1. Check if the table insert (22) is damaged.
2. Replace the table insert if damaged.
WARNING! Cung injuries! Wear cut resistant gloves when working with the saw blade.
a) Press the table insert out of the saw table (7) from underneath.
b) Place a new table insert into the recess in the saw table.
The table insert should not protrude and should be ush with the saw table.

Checking and adjusng the tension of the band saw blade
The correct tension of the band saw blade is crucial for the funconing and safety of the machine. If the tension is too high, the band saw blade may break. If
the tension is too low, the band saw blade may stop.
1. Use hand protecon.
2. Li the upper guide (6) up as far as possible.
3. Press laterally against the band saw blade (28).
Set point: It should be possible to push the band saw blade approx. 1 – 2 mm to the side.
4. Change the tension by turning the clamping screw (3) unl the set point is reached.
Direcon of rotaon as seen from above: ↻ Tension the band saw blade. ↺ Release the tension of the band saw blade.
Checking the posion of the band saw blade
If set points are not met, see secon Adjust the posion of the band saw blade.
1. Open the housing doors (2).
2. Take the following steps to check the band saw blade (28) for damage, e.g. cracks, missing teeth, etc.
WARNING! Risk of injury! A damaged band saw blade can break! Never operate the machine with a damaged band saw blade. Always mount an
undamaged band saw blade.
3. Check the posion on the drive wheel (25) and running wheel (29):
Turn the running wheel and observe the band saw blade on the running wheel and drive wheel.
Set point: The band saw blade runs enrely on the black tyres of the drive wheel and running wheel.
4. Check the posion on the rear guides:
i) Turn the running wheel and observe the guide rollers (36) of the rear guides.
Set point: The guide rollers do not rotate connuously when the band saw blade moves.
ii) Press the staonary band saw blade back with a piece of wood.
Set point: The band saw blade can be pushed back by a maximum of 0.5 mm using a piece of wood.
5. Check the lateral posion of the lateral guides (Fig. D, E):
Turn the running wheel and observe the lateral guides from the front
Set point: The band saw blade almost touches the guide pins (35): Gap of approx. 0.5 mm. The band saw blade does not grind on the guide pins.
6. Check the rear posion of the lateral guides:
Turn the running wheel and observe the lateral guides from the right.
Set point: The non-toothed part of the band saw blade runs between the guide pins.
7. Close the housing doors (2).
Check that the band saw blade is perpendicular to the saw table
For precise inspecon you will need a vercal stop bracket (not included). Alternavely, you can use the parallel guide (21).
1. Tilt the saw table up to the support screw (38).
2. Use the stop bracket to check that the saw table and band saw blade are perpendicular to each other.
Check safety devices
WARNING! Risk of injury! Never operate a machine if a safety device is damaged or does not work. Contact an authorised service centre.
1. Lower the upper guide (6) down as far as possible.
2. Make sure that the saw band guard (5) is undamaged and locked.
3. Insert the machine plug into a wall socket.
4. Press the ON buon I (31) of the ON/OFF switch.
5. Open one of the housing doors (2). The machine switches o immediately.
6. Close the housing door (2). The machine must not restart.
7. Repeat the procedure with the other housing door.
8. Pull out the mains plug. The machine is ready for use.
OPERATION
Sawing with the bandsaw
WARNING! Risk of injury and damage to property! Follow these instrucons when sawing:
General instrucons
The following safe working pracces are considered to contribute to safety, but may not be appropriate, complete or fully applicable to every applicaon. They
cannot cover every possible danger and must be carefully interpreted.

• When working in closed spaces, connect the machine to an extracon system.
• Never clean the band saw blade or the saw blade guard with a hand-held brush or scraper while the band saw blade is running. Hardened band saw blades
endanger operaonal safety and must be cleaned regularly.
• For your personal protecon, wear safety goggles and hearing protecon when working. Wear a hair net if you have long hair. Roll up loose sleeves to above
the elbows.
• Before starng work, all protecve and safety devices must be securely mounted on the machine.
• When working, always posion the saw blade guard as close as possible to the workpiece.
• Always hold the workpiece so that your hands are as far away from the band saw blade as possible.
• Always hold the workpiece so that your ngerps point away from the band saw blade.
• When the machine is not being used, e.g. when you have nished working, release the tension of the band saw blade. Aach an appropriate note to the
machine for the next user, to instruct them how to tension the band saw blade.
• Safely fold unused band saw blades and store them in a dry place. Check for defects (teeth, cracks) before use. Do not use faulty band saw blades.
• Wear protecve gloves when handling the band saw blade or raw materials.
• Use the push sck to manually feeding narrow workpieces.
• When cung round or unevenly shaped wood, use a suitable holding device that prevents the workpiece from twisng.
• Secure long workpieces against lng at the end of the cung operaon, e.g. unwinding stand.
• Lower the upper guide (6) down as close as possible to the workpiece for all cung procedures (see secon Upper guide (6)).
• The workpiece must always be guided with both hands and held at on the saw table (7). This prevents the band saw blade (28) from jamming.
• The workpiece must always be fed with even pressure, i.e. with just enough pressure for the band saw blade to cut through the material easily, without
jamming.
• Always use the parallel guide (21) for every cung procedure that it is intended for.
• It is beer to make a cut in one pass than cung in several secons, as this may require the workpiece to be retracted. If retracon is, nevertheless,
unavoidable, the band saw must be switched o rst. Only pull the workpiece back aer the band saw blade (28) has come to a standsll.
• When sawing, the workpiece must always be guided by its longest side.
• Cauon! A push sck (1) must be used when machining narrow workpieces. The push sck must always be kept to hand on the holder on the side of the saw.
• Cauon! Aer each new adjustment, we recommend a trial cut in order to check the set dimensions.
Switching on and sawing
Before switching on the device, make sure that:
1. You have inspected the machine for obvious defects, such as defecve safety devices, loose, worn or damaged parts, correct seang of screws or other parts,
and have remedied the defects.
2. You have checked the band saw blade for damage and replaced it if damaged.
3. You have prepared and adjusted the machine for the cut.
4. You are not wearing gloves.
5. You are wearing eye or hearing protecon.
Before switching on
1. Connect the machine rmly to the base with 4 screws and nuts. The base (19) has a hole in each corner for screws (not included in delivery).
2. Insert the machine plug into a wall socket.
3. Connect the connecon for dust extracon (18) to a vacuum cleaner. Switch the vacuum cleaner on.
4. Lower the upper guide (6) unl it is 2 to 3 mm above the workpiece.
Switching on and sawing
1. Press the ON buon I (31) on the ON/ OFF switch.
2. Wait unl the band saw blade (28) has reached full speed.
3. Cut with a uniform forward moon using gentle pressure. Never move the workpiece backwards while the band saw blade is running.
4. If you want to change sengs on the machine for the next cut: Press the OFF buon O (32).
Straight cuts
Notes
• Always use the rip fence for straight cuts to prevent the workpiece from lng or slipping.
• The rip fence can be mounted on both sides of the saw blade.
• Aer each new adjustment, we recommend a trial cut in order to check the set dimensions.
Mounng the parallel stop (Fig. A)
1. Open the quick release lever of the parallel guide (21).
2. Push the parallel guide from the side onto the saw table (7).
3. Move the parallel guide (21) on the saw table. Make sure that both scales are set to the same value.
4. Close the quick release lever of the parallel guide (21).
You can now switch on the machine and saw straight cuts.

Angular cuts
Notes
There are two opons for sawing diagonally:
• Sawing with a lted saw table (Fig. B)
• Sawing with a mitre gauge fence (Fig. C)
For cung dovetail-shaped nes and tenons or wedges, move the saw table to the corresponding posion on the angle scale.
Aer each new adjustment, we recommend a trial cut in order to check the set dimensions.
Sawing with a lted saw table (Fig. B)
1. Set the saw table to the desired inclinaon (see secon Tilng the saw table).
2. If possible, aach the rip fence to the right side of the saw table. This will prevent the workpiece from slipping.
Sawing with a mitre gauge fence (Fig. C)
1. Set the cross stop (20) to the desired angle.
2. Slide the rail of the cross stop into the guide on the saw table (7).
3. With the machine switched o, check that the guide is completely inside the rail at the start of the cut. If not, you should saw the cut dierently, for example
with a lted saw table.
4. If possible, aach the rip fence to the le side of the saw table.
Curved cuts
CAUTION! Your ngers are parcularly at risk when cung curves! Take special care.
1. Remove the rip fence and the mitre gauge fence.
2. Use an auxiliary template for execung repeat curved, irregular cuts.
3. When making curved and irregular cuts in the workpiece, push the workpiece evenly forward using both hands, with your ngers closed. Keep your hands
in the safe area when holding the workpiece.
Ending the operaon
1. Press the OFF buon O (32).
2. Pull out the mains plug.
3. Release the tension of the band saw blade, see Checking and adjusng the tension of the band saw blade, p. 28. The life of the band saw blade is reduced
if stored with tension.
4. Clean the machine.
CLEANING, MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
WARNING! Electric shock! Remove the mains plug before carrying out any adjustments, maintenance or repair work.
CAUTION! Risk of burn injury! Allow the machine to cool o before any maintenance or cleaning is undertaken.
NOTE: Have any work that is not described in this instrucon manual performed by an authorised service centre. Only use original replacement parts.
Cleaning
WARNING! Electric shock! Never spray down the machine with water.
NOTE: Risk of damage. Chemical substances may aack the plasc parts of the machine. Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents.
Cleaning the outside of the machine
WARNING! Cung injuries! Wear cut-resistant gloves when working with the saw blade.
1. Keep the venlaon slits, motor housing and handles of the machine clean. Use a damp cloth or brush to do this.
2. Clean resinous surfaces with a damp, lukewarm cloth that has been wrung out well. Make sure that no liquids can get into the interior of the housing!
