the power tool. Power tools can be dangerous if used by inexperienced users.
e) Clean your power tool carefully. Check that the moving parts work properly and do not jam and that there are no parts broken or damaged to such an extent
that the operaon of the power tool is aected. Contact an authorised service centre for any repairs needed before using the tool. Poorly maintained power
tools can cause serious damage or harm.
f ) Keep any cung tools sharp and clean. Carefully maintained cung tools with sharp cung edges are less likely to jam and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tools, accessories, aachments, etc. in accordance with these instrucons. Take into account the condions of your workplace and the task
at hand. Using power tools for any purpose other than that for which they are intended can lead to dangerous situaons.

Have your power tool repaired only by trained personnel using only authenc spare parts. This will ensure that your power tool is always safe to use.
Warning! This power tool generates an electromagnec eld during operaon. This eld can impair acve or passive medical implants under certain condions.
In order to prevent the risk of serious or deadly injuries, we recommend that persons with medical implants consult with their physician and the manufacturer
of the medical implant prior to operang the power tool.
Portable band saw safety
a) When performing work during which the cung device could come into contact with concealed power lines, hold the electrical tool by the insulated handle
surfaces. Contact between the cung tool and a live power wire can also electrify metal device parts and lead to electric shock.
b) Keep your hands away from the sawing area and saw band. Before use, always ensure that the portable band saw is clean.
c) Stop operaon immediately, if you noce anything unusual.
d) Prior to using the tool, always make sure that all components are properly and safely ed.
e) Always proceed with cauon when ng or removing the saw band.
f) Always keep your hands away from the cung path of the saw band.
g) Before sawing, always wait unl the motor has reached full speed.
h) Always keep the handles dry, clean and free of oil and grease. Hold the tool rmly during work.
i) Always remain alert, in parcular when performing repeve, monotonous tasks. Always make sure your hands are in the correct posion in relaon to the
saw band.
j) Never remove the workpiece stop.
k) Maintain a distance from end pieces, which fall down aer sawing. They may be hot, sharp and/or heavy. They could cause serious injuries.
l) Air intakes oen cover moving parts and should be kept clear. Loose-ng clothing, jewellery and long hair may become caught in the moving parts.
RESIDUAL RISKS
The electric tool has been built according to all the latest accepted technical safety rules. However, individual residual risks can arise during operaon.
• Danger of injury of ngers and hands due to the running saw band because of improper guiding of the workpiece.
• Injuries due to the workpiece being ejected at high speed due to improper holding or guiding, such as working without the stop.
• Risk to health from wood dust or wood chippings. It is essenal that personal protecve equipment, such as eye protecon and mask, is worn.
• Injuries due to defecve saw band. Check the integrity of the saw band regularly.
• Danger of injury to ngers and hands while changing the saw band. Wear suitable work gloves.
• Danger of injury when the machine is switched on from the running saw band.
• Risk of electric shock in case of using inappropriate electrical connecon cables.
• Danger of injury from the running saw band due to long hair and/or loose clothing. Wear personal protecve equipment such as a hair net and ght ng
work clothing.
Furthermore, despite all precauons having been met, some non-obvious residual risks may sll remain. Residual risks can be minimised if the “General safety
instrucons” and the “Proper use” guidelines are observed along with the whole of the operang instrucons.
Despite use as intended, specic risk factors cannot be enrely eliminated. Due to the design and layout of the machine, the following risks remain:
• Danger of injury to the eyes when the necessary eye protecon is not used.
• Hearing damage when the necessary hearing proteconis not used.
•Harmful emissions of wood dusts during use in enclosed areas.
• Risk of accident due to contact with the hands in the uncovered cung area of the tool.
• Danger of injury during a workpiece change (cung hazard).
• Danger due to the ejecon of workpieces or parts of the workpiece.
• Crushing of ngers.
• Danger due to kick-back.
• Tilng of the workpiece due to insucient workpiece support surface.
• Touching the cung tool.
• Ejecon of branches and workpiece parts.
