These instrucons have been wrien in a way which facilitates learning of how to safely operate your saw. Here is a guide on how you should read these instruc-
ons:
— Read these instrucons before use. Pay special aenon to the safety informaon.
— These instrucons are intended for persons having a basic technical knowledge of the operaon of machines such as the one described herein. If you have
no experience whatsoever, we strongly recommend to seek the advise of an experienced person.
— Keep all documents supplied with this machine for future reference. Retain proof of purchase in case of warranty claims.
— If you lend or sell this machine be sure to have these instrucons go with it.
— The equipment manufacturer is not liable for any damage resulng from neglect of these operang instrucons.

Safety
Specied condions of use. This saw is intended for cross cuts, bevel cuts, mitre cuts, and compound mitre cuts of strips, proled ledges, etc. Grooving is also
possible as well. Only such materials suitable for cung by the saw blade ed may be cut (see ” Technical Specicaons” for available saw blades). The per-
missible workpiece dimensions must be observed (see Technical Specicaons”). Stock having around or irregular cross secon (such as rewood) must not be
cut, as itcan not be securely held during cung. When sawing thin stock layed on edge, a suitable auxiliary fence must be used for rm support.
Any other use is not as specied. Unspecied use, alteraon of the machine, or use of parts not approved by the equipment manufacturer can cause unfore-
seen damage!
General safety instrucons
- When using this tool observe the following safety instrucons, to exclude the risk of personal injury or material damage.
- Please also observe the special safety instrucons in the respecve chapters.
- Where applicable, follow the legal direcves or regulaons for the prevenon of accidents pertaining to the use of crosscut saws.
- Keep your work area dy -a messy work area invites accidents.
- Be alert: Know what you are doing. Set out to work with reason. Do not operate the tool while under the inuence of drugs, alcohol or medicaon.
- Consider environmental condions, keep work area well lighted. Prevent adverse body posions. Ensure rm foong and keep your balance at all mes.
- Do not operate the tool near inammable liquids or gases.
- This tool shall only be started and operated by persons familiar with crosscut saws, and who are at any me aware of the dangers associated with the opera-
on of such tool. Persons under 18 years of age shall use this tool only in the course of their vocaonal training, under the supervision of an instructor.

- Keep bystanders, parcularly children, out of the danger zone. Do not permit other persons to touch the too or power cable while it is running.
- Do not overload tool — use it only within the performance range it was designed for (see "Technical Specicaons”).
Danger! Risk of electric shock!
- Do not expose tool to rain. Do not operate toolindamp or wet environment. Prevent body contact with earthed objects such as radiators, pipes, cooking
stoves, refrigerators when operang this tool. Do not use the power cable for purposes it is not intended for.
Risk of injury by moving parts!
- Do not operate the tool without the installed guards. Always keep sucient distance to the saw blade. Use suitable feeding aids, if necessary. Keep sucient
distance to driven components when operang the tool. Wait for the saw blade to come to a complete stop before removing cut-os, scrap, etc. from the work
area. Cut only stock of dimensions that allow for safe and secure holding while cung. Do not aempt to stop the saw blade by pushing the workpiece against
its side. Ensure the tool is disconnected from power before servicing. Ensure that when switching on (e.g. aer servicing) no tools or loose parts are le on or
in the tool. Unplug if the tool is not used.
Cung hazard, even with the cung tool at standsll!
Wear gloves when changing cung tools. Store saw blade in such manner that nobody will get hurt.
Risk of sawhead kickback (the saw blade is caught in the workpiece and the sawhead kicked up all of a sudden)! Make sure the saw blade is suitable
for the workpiece material. Hold the handle rmly. When the saw blade enters the workpiece, the kickback risk is parcularly high. Cut thin or thin-walled
workpieces only with ne-toothed saw blades. Always sue sharp saw blades. Replace blunt saw blades immediately. Increased risk of kickback when a blunt
tooth gets caught by the workpieces surface. Do not jam workpieces. Avoid lateral pressure on the saw blade when grooving — use a stock clamp. If in doubt,
check workpiece for inclusion of foreign maer (e.g.nails or screws). Never cut several workpieces at the same me — and alsono bundles containing several
individual pieces. Risk of personal injury if individual pieces are caught by the saw blade uncontrolled.
Drawing-in/trapping hazard!
Ensure that no parts of the body or clothing can be caught and drawn in by rotang components (no neck- es, no gloves, no loose-ng clothes; contain
long hair with hair-net). Never aempt to cut any workpieces which contain ropes, strings, cords, cables, wires, or to which any of the above are aached.
Hazard generated by insucient personal protecon gear! Wear hearing protecon, safety glasses, dust mask, suitable work clothes & non-slip shoes.
Risk of injury by inhaled wood dust! Dust of certain mber species (e.g. Beech, oak, ash) can cause cancer when inhaled. Work only with a suitable dust
collector aached to the saw. The dust collector must comply with the data stated in the technical specicaons. Ensure that as lile as possible wood dust
will get into the environment: remove wood dust deposit in the work area (do not blow away), x any leakages on the dust collector. ensure good venlaon.
Hazard generated by modicaon of the machine or use of parts not tested and approved by the equipment manufacturer! Assemble tool in strict accord-
ance with these instrucons. Use only parts approved by the equipment manufacturer. This applies especially for: saw blades (see “ Tecchnical Specicaons”
for stock nos.), safety devices (see “Technical Specicaons” for stock nos.). e Do not change any parts.
Hazard generated by tool defects! Keep tool and accessories in good repair. Observe the maintenance instrucons. Before any use check tool for possible
damage: before operang the tool all safety devices, protecve guards or slightly damaged parts need to be checked for proper funcon as specied. Check-
to see that all moving parts work properly and do not jam. All parts must be correctly installed and meet all condions necessary for the proper opernon
of the tool. Do not use damaged or warped saw blades. Damaged protecon devices or parts must be repaired or replaced by a qualied specialist. Have
damaged switches replaced by a service centre. Do not operate tool if the switchcan notbe turned ON or OFF. Keep handles free of oil and grease.
Risk of injury by noise! Wear hearing protecon. For reasons of noise protecon do not use warped saw blades. A warped blade is exing vibraons to an
especially large extent, which means noise.

Safety Devices
Retractable blade guard
The retractable blade guard (33) protects against unintenonal contact with the saw
blade and from chips ying about.
Both segments of the retractable blade guard must always return automacally into
their starng posion: when the sawhead is lied up, the sawblade must be covered
all around.
Safety lock
The safety lock (34) prevents the retractable blade guard from unintenonal opening.
For cung, press the safety lock. Only then canthe sawhead be lowered, opening the
retractable blade guard. Aer the cus made -and the sawhead is in its upper starng
posion - the retractable blade guard islocked again by the safety lock.
Flange guard
The ange guard (35) protects against inadvertent contact with the outer blade
ange.

Transportaon
1. Engage cung depth limiter (38) in outer posion.
2. Swing sawhead down and push transport locking pin (37) in.
3. Slide movable fence halves (39) together and arrest.
4. Slide table side extension back into the saw table.
5. Li saw holding it on both sides of the table.
Installaon and Transport
Installaon
1. Li saw out of the box with the help of another person.
2. Place saw on a suitable base:
- All four feet must rmly rest on the base.
- The ideal height of the base is 800 mm.
- The saw must stand securely, even when cung larger workpieces.
3. Push sawhead slightly down, hold in posion and pull out transport locking pin (37). Let
sawhead rise slowly.
4. Keep packaging for later use or dispose of in an environmentally oriented manner.
Special product features
- 94° cung angle range for bevel cuts (47° le thru 47° right) with seven posive stops.
- 110° cung angle range for mitre cuts (50° le thru 60° right) with ten posive stops.
- Individually adjustable stops for mitre cuts.
- So start.
- Motor brake.
- Integrated fold-away cung depth limiter for grooving.
- Precise and sturdy die-cast aluminium construcon.
- TCT saw blade.
- Unproblemac saw blade change by saw blade lock; no dismounng of the retractable blade guard required.

In this chapter the essenal operang elemetns of the machine are introduced. The proper use of the saw is detailed in chapter “Operaon”. Read this chapter
before using the saw for the rst me.
ON/OFF switch
To turn the motor ON: Press and hold the ON/OFF switch (40). To turn the motor OFF: Release the ON/OFF switch.

Rotang table
The rotang table (41) rotates through 50o to the le and 60o to the right, with posive stops at 0o, 15o, 22,5o,
31,6o, 45oand 60o. The pointer allows for adjustment in 1oor 0,5o increments.
To rotate the rotang table the locking screw (43) needs to be loosened and, If necessary, the notch lever (42)
pushed down.
Cauon:
In order to prevent the mitre angle from changing during cung, the rotang table a locking screw must be
ghtened (also when engaged at the posive stops!).
Push/pull acon
The track arm permits the cung of workpieces having a large cross-secon. The track can be used for all type of cuts (standard
cross cuts,mitre cuts, bevel cuts, compound mitre cuts).

When it is not required, arrest the track arm with the locking screw (45). The track
arm guiding can be adjusted by the seng screws (44).
Cung depth limiter
Together with the track arm, the cung depth limiter (46) makes grooving possible.
Adjustable fence
The fence (49) is ed with adjustable fence halves (48), which can be arrested by
means of a locking screw (47).
For making bevel cuts the fence halves must be moved apart and arrested.
Bevel lt seng
The track arm holder lts through 47° from vercal to the le or right, with posive stops at
0°, 22.5°, 33.9°, and 45°.
To lt the track arm holder, the lock lever (50) must be loosened and, if necessary, the plung-
er pin (51) pulled out.
In order to prevent the angle of inclinaon from changing during cung, the ratchet lock
lever must be ghtened (also when engaged at a posive stop!).

Inial operaon
Connecon of a dust collector
Wood dust of certain species (e.g. oak, beech, ash) can cause cancer when inhaled: use a dust collector 1) when using the saw in enclosed spaces, 2) when using
the saw over extended periods (more than 1/2 hour per day), 3) when cung oak, beech or ash.
The dust collector must meet the following requirements: 1) Connectors ng the sucon connector diameters (43mm at sawhead; 58 mm at bevel lt
seng), 2) Airow volume ≥ 460 m3/h 3) Vacuum at sucon connector of saw ≥ 530 Pa. 4) Airspeed at sucon connector of saw = 20m/s. Also follow the
instrucons supplied with the dust collector!
Mains connecon
Danger! High voltage !
1) Operate this machine in dry surroundings only, 2) Operate the machine only on a power source meeng the following requirements (see also “ Technical
Specicaons") a. mains voltage and system frequency conform to the voltage and frequency shown on themachine's rang label, b. outlets properly installed,
earthed, and tested. 3) Posion power supply cable so it does not interfere with the work and is not damaged. 4) Protect power supply cable from heat, ag-
gressive liquids and sharp edges, 5) Use only rubber-jacketed extension cables of sucient lead cross-secon (3 x 1mm ), 6) Do not pull on power supply cable
to unplug.
Operaon
Danger!
1) Before starng any work, check to see that the safety devices are in proper working order, 2) Use personal protecon gear, 3) Assume proper operang posi-
on: at the front of the saw, in front of the saw, to the side of the line of cut, 4) Risk of crushing! When lng the sawhead, do not reach into the hinge area or
under the saw! Hold at sawhead. When pushing the table side extension back, do not reach between extension and table, 5) If thetype of work requires, use
the following: a. work support - for long stock, which would otherwise fall o the table on compleon of the cut, b. dust collector. 6) Cut only stock of dimen-
sions that allow for safe and secure holding while cung, 7) Use an auxiliary fence if small cutos will result when cung, 8) Saw work pieces conforming to
the following dimensions as described under ”Cung of Small Cutos:
— cuto <20 mm,
— height > 80mm,
— width> 125 mm,
8) Always hold the workpiece down on the table and do not jam it. Do not aempt to stop the saw blade by exerng lateral pressure. Risk of injury if the saw
blade is blocked.
Standard cross cuts
Maximum workpiece cross secon (dimensions in mm): Width approx. = 350 mm / Height approx. = 108 mm
Starng posion:
- Transport locking pin pulled out. Sawhead fully raised.
- Movable fence halves pushed together and arrested in posion.
- Cung depth limiter engaged in outer posion.
- Rotang table in 0° posion, the lokking screw of the rotang table is ghtened.
- Motorhead in vercal (90°) posion, bevel lt locking lever ghtened.
- Track arm not extended.
- Locking screw of the track arm loosened (if workpiece width requires).
Cung the workpiece:
1. Hold workpiece against the fence, 2. For wider workpieces pull sawhead forward (towards the operator) as far as required, 3. Push safety lock to the side and
press and hold the ON/OFF switch, 4. Lower sawhead slowly at the handle; if necessary, push to the rear (away from the operator). When sawing, exert only
moderate pressure to prevent the motor speed dropping too much, 5. Cut workpiece in a single pass, 6. Release the ON/OFF switch and let the sawhead slowly
return to its upper starng posion.

Cung o Small Cut-os
When cung with an extended track arm, the retractable blade guard may jam at the work piece when the sawhead assemlby is pushed back. If this happens,
release the ON/OFF switch and let the sawhead assembly slowly return to its upper starng posion. Jamming of the retractable blade occurs in rare cases only,
for example: when cung small cutos (52) (cut-o <20mm, height > 80 mm), which, because of the width (>125 mm) require the track arm to be extended;
when making compound mitre cuts with the sawhead assemlby lted to the le.
In these cases, proceed as under: All sengs of the saw (posion of the rotang table and sawhead assembly lt) remain unchanged for making the desired cut.
What changes is the direcon of cung through the work piece. 1. Hold the work piece rmly against the fence, secure withe.g. a stock clamp. 2. Push the
sawhead assembly all the was to the rear (away from the operator), 3. Press on hold the ON/OFF switch, 4. Slowly swinhe sawhead assembly (53) all the
way down, holding the handle rmly with both hands. When sawing, exert only moderate pressure to kee the motor speed from dropping. 5. Pull the sawhead
assembly forward (towards the operator, 6. Cut the work piece in a single pass, 7. Release the ON/OFF switch and let the sawhead assembly slowly return to
its upper starng posion.
Mitre cuts
Note: A mitre cut cuts the workpiece at an angle against the rear guide edge.
