7965 Model
How do I…
Dial an external number Press 0 (zero), then dial the number.
Transfer a Call
Press Transfer softkey, dial the number, then press Transfer again.
OR
Press End Call softkey, then Resume softkey, to return to the original
call.
Hold/Resume a call Press Hold/Resume softkey.
Pickup a call Press more softkey, then Pickup softkey.
Access Voicemail Press the messages button.
Forward my calls
immediately to voicemail
Press CFwdAll softkey , then messages button.
Press CFwdAll to cancel forwarding.
Change ring tone
1. Press settings button.
2. Press User Preferences
3. Press Rings
4. Press Default Ring
5. Press Select to display available rings
6. Scroll through the list and press Play to hear the ring.
7. To choose a ring, highlight it and press Select.
8. Press Save to confirm selection.
Change ring volume
While phone is on the hook, press Volume key
to adjust ringer volume.
Add a Speed Dial button Request Speed Dial button via 17000 Helpdesk.

Programmable Buttons
Depending on configuration, programmable buttons provide
access to:
•Phone lines (line buttons) and intercom lines
•Speed-dial numbers (speed-dial buttons, including the BLF
speed-dial feature)
•Web-based services (for example, a Personal Address Book
button)
•Call features (for example, a Privacy, Hold, or Transfer
button)

Footstand Button
Enables you to adjust the angle of the phone base.

Display Button
Awakens the phone from sleep mode.

Messages Button
Auto-dials your voicemail service.

Directories Button
Opens/closes Directories menu. Use it to access call logs and
directories.

Help Button
Activates the Help Menu.

Settings Button
Opens/closes the Settings Menu. Use it to change phone screen
and ring settings.

Services Button
Opens/closes the Services Menu.

Volume Button
Controls the handset, headset and speakerphone volume (off-
hook), and the ringer volume (on-hook).

Speaker Button
Toggles the speakerphone on or off. When the speakerphone is
on, the button is lit.

Mute Button
Toggles the microphone on or off. When the microphone is on,
the button is lit.

Headset Button
Toggles the headset on or off. When the headset is on, the
button is lit.

Select Button (centre)
Enables you to scroll through menus and highlight items. Use the
select button to select an item that is highlighted on the screen.

Indicates an incoming call (flashing red) or new voice message
(steady red).

Shows information about your phone such as directory number,
active call and line status, softkey options, speed dials, placed
calls, and phone menu listings.
