PRODUCT INFORMATION
The CTKMZ01 is a complete installation kit that allows for the tment of an aftermarket head unit into
the OEM dashboard of Mazda BT-50 vehicles. The interface provided helps retain steering wheel control
presets. The lead features plug-and-play connectors for an easier installation process.
Also provided is an antenna adapter, and a universal patch lead, to ensure compatibility with almost any
head unit on the market.
STEERING WHEEL CONTROL FUNCTIONALITY
The following diagram, though based on careful research, is an example only. Individual steering wheel control congurations may differ.

Access Time/Date (Long Press)
• Pressing & holding the Speech button (Fig.5) for 2 seconds will enable the ‘menu mode’ option.
• Using Volume Up/Down (Fig.1/2) you are able to navigate to ‘Set Time’. Once here, single press Speech (Fig.5) to conrm.
• Now you can adjust the vehicles clock by using Volume Up/Down (Fig.1/2), and select between hours & minutes by using the
Track Up/Down (Fig.3/4). When nished, a single press of Speech (Fig.5) will conrm the changes.
• The same process above can also be utilised for the setting of date.
Note that the menu option will time out after 15-20 seconds of inactivity.

PRIOR TO INSTALLATION
Read the manual prior to installation. Technical knowledge is necessary for installation. The place of installation
must be free of moisture and away from heat sources. Please ensure that the correct tools are used during the
installation to avoid damage to the vehicle or product. Connects2 can not be held responsible for the installation
of this product.
Use a panel removal tool to unclip and
release the main fascia panel. Once
released, pull away from the dashboard
and disconnect any wiring.

Take the fascia to one side and begin to
unclip the 2x air vents (shown here) and
relocate them into the new fascia.

2. Undo the 2x screws that hold the main
head unit in place and once free, proceed
to disconnect all of the wiring.

4. Take the original fascia and unclip the top
display trim and relocate this into the top
aperature of the new fascia.
FASCIA ASSEMBLY
The highlighted area(s) on the inner dash
will need to be cut out in order to allow the
new double DIN unit to sit correctly.
When performing any modication to the
vehicle, always ensure to measure where
the stereo will sit and take due care when
performing cuts to the vehicle. Connects2
always promotes the use and expertise of
professional installers. Connects2 will not
be held responsible for any damage to the
vehicle.
BRACKET ASSEMBLY
Attach the supplied brackets to either side
of the aftermarket head unit. Note that the
brackets are labelled “L” and “R” for left
and right hand side.

Before installing the interface, the factory stereo must be removed and disconnected. To do this, please consult the vehicle
owner’s manual/handbook or contact a tting professional.
For universal patch leads, prepare the wiring loops in accordance with the instruction manual supplied before installation.
2. Connect the opposite end of the stereo connection (patch) lead to the steering wheel control input on the back of
the aftermarket stereo.
NOTE: This may be a 3.5mm jack connector or a wired input depending on the brand of aftermarket stereo being tted.
Please consult the aftermarket stereo installation manual for further information on where to make the connection.
IMPORTANT: THIS STEP MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE CONNECTING POWER TO THE INTERFACE.
FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN A LACK OF FUNCTIONALITY AND THE NEED TO REINSTALL THE PRODUCT

3. Connect the 14 Pin connector from the supplied wiring loom to the interface box.
1. Connect the 12 Pin connector from the stereo connection (patch) lead to the interface box.
4. Connect the power/speaker ISO connector to the power/speaker ISO connector at the rear of aftermarket stereo.
Note: For aftermarket stereos which do not have an ISO connector, please see ‘Wiring Key’ on Pg.2 for information on which wires to connect.
5. Connect any additional ying wires from the harness to the head unit as required.
Note: Additional ‘flying’ wires can be connected to the vehicle to support various features i.e. parking brake trigger, reverse gear and speed
pulse. Details of these can be found under ‘Additional Connections’.

DASH ASSEMBLY
Once the installation of the head unit and
wiring has taken place, take the new fascia
plate in hand and transplant the clips from
the OEM panel to the back. Once done,
simply clip the new fascia over the head
unit to complete the installation.
6. Attach the red & white RCA connectors to the rear aux inputs on the aftermarket head unit.
7. Take the speaker box that comes within the kit and attach the 4 Pin connector to the corresponding connector
found on the harness.
8. Remove the top display from the dashboard and unclip the 12 Pin connector, this will need to be connected to the
appropriate side of the interface box.
9. Then take the 12 Pin display connector from the harness and plug it into the rear of the top display. This can then
be replaced into position in the dashboard.

12. Test stereo and steering wheel control functionality for correct operation before reassembling the vehicle
dashboard. If steering wheel control functions are unresponsive, please uninstall the interface and wiring and
reinstall carefully in accordance with the above steps.

10. Connect the vehicle specic connector on the supplied harness to the OEM connector from the vehicle.
11. Attach the antenna adapter in between the vehicles pre-existing connector as well as the rear of the aftermarket
head unit.
