PRODUCT INFORMATION
The CTKHA02 is a complete installation kit that allows for the tment of an aftermarket head unit into
Harley Davidson vehicles. The interface provided helps retain steering wheel control presets as well
as phone button functionality (if applicable). The lead features plug-and-play connectors for an easier
installation process.
Also provided is a universal patch lead, to ensure compatibility with almost any head unit on the market.
Note: this kit is intended for use with head units which feature an ‘L shaped’ chassis only.

PRIOR TO INSTALLATION
Read the manual prior to installation. Technical knowledge is necessary for installation. The place of installation
must be free of moisture and away from heat sources. Please ensure that the correct tools are used during the
installation to avoid damage to the vehicle or product. Connects2 can not be held responsible for the installation
of this product.
To begin, remove the 4x torx screws that
surround the bottom of the inner fairing.

Then remove the 3x torx screws from the
inside the windshield. Once loose, take
care not to drop either the outer fairing or
the windshield.

Once free, begin to remove the outer
fairing, unplugging the headlight in the
process.

Not that the outer fairing has been
removed, proceed to undo the 2x torx
screws surrounding the air venting, and
once loose, remove from the dashboard.

DASH DISASSEMBLY
With the outer fairing removed, you will
need to do the following in the exposed
area:
• remove 2x torx screws that surround the
gauge cluster
• remove 4x allen key screws located on
the sides of the bracket
• remove 4x torx screws which secure the
radio in place
Once these steps are done, proceed to
remove both the bracket panel and gauge
cluster module.

With the bracket out of the way, unplug
all of the connections from the back of
the head unit and proceed to remove 4x
torx screws from around the radio. Once
free, pull out of the housing away from the
dashboard.

KIT ASSEMBLY
Take the fascia and the brackets from
within the kit and ax them together using
the 4x screws provided.

Now take your new head unit and slide
it into the rear of the fascia/bracket
combination, when seated correctly, screw
the radio into place utilising screws that
come with the radio.

Slide the radio/fascia combination back
into the dashboard and proceed to use the
pre-existing 4x allen key screws to bolt it
in place.
Then bring back the original radio bracket
and place in it’s original position and re-
assemble instead with 4x phillips screws
supplied.
Once this is back in place, reassemble the
dashboard in reverse order.

Before installing the interface, the factory stereo must be removed and disconnected. To do this, please consult the vehicle
owner’s manual/handbook or contact a tting professional.
For universal patch leads, prepare the wiring loops in accordance with the instruction manual supplied before installation.
2. Connect the opposite end of the stereo connection (patch) lead to the steering wheel control input on the back of
the aftermarket stereo.
NOTE: This may be a 3.5mm jack connector or a wired input depending on the brand of aftermarket stereo being tted.
Please consult the aftermarket stereo installation manual for further information on where to make the connection.
IMPORTANT: THIS STEP MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE CONNECTING POWER TO THE INTERFACE.
FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN A LACK OF FUNCTIONALITY AND THE NEED TO REINSTALL THE PRODUCT

3. Connect the 14 Pin connector from the supplied wiring loom to the interface box.
1. Connect the 12 Pin connector from the stereo connection (patch) lead to the interface box.
4. Connect the power/speaker ISO connector to the power/speaker ISO connector at the rear of aftermarket stereo.
Note: For aftermarket stereos which do not have an ISO connector, please see ‘Wiring Key’ on Pg.2 for information on which wires to connect.
7. Test stereo and steering wheel control functionality for correct operation before reassembling the vehicle
dashboard. If steering wheel control functions are unresponsive, please uninstall the interface and wiring and
reinstall carefully in accordance with the above steps.

6. Connect the vehicle specic connector on the supplied harness to the OEM connector from the vehicle.
5. Attach any pre-existing connections from the vehicle to the rear of the aftermarket head unit.
