INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
For COMAND NTG3 / NTG3.5 Systems
The VIMMB-78S is wired behind the DVD unit (Comand).
Remove the trim plate below the DVD unit drawer.
Open the DVD drawer cover and carefully remove it.
Remove the 4 torx screws that hold the Comand unit. There
are 2 on each side.
Remove the Comand unit and unplug the 20 pin connector.
Press in the lock tab and slide out the insert.

Video In Motion Activation for
select Mercedes Benz Vehicles with NTG3, 3.5 & 5 Systems
Tap the power and ground wires of the VIMMB-85S harness
following the diagram on page 1. Use a pick tool and press down
the terminal lock on PIN 1 (Yellow/White) and PIN 11 (Yellow).
Unplug the terminal wires and insert them to the 3 pin socket
included in the kit following the diagram below.
CAN Low (Yellow) PIN 1
CAN High (Yellow/White) PIN 3
Connect the 3 pin socket to the corresponding 3 pin plug found on the VIMMB-78S harness.
Insert the Yellow/Black wire from the VIMMB-78S harness into
PIN 1 and the Blue/Black wire to PIN 11 of the insert. Slide back
the insert into the 20 pin Comand connector.

For COMAND NTG5 Systems (W222 / C217)
Tap the power and ground wires of the VIMMB-85S harness
following the diagram on page 1. The CAN wires are connected
at the CAN distribuon block located at the driver side foot
well area (close to the OBD connector). It is usually covered
with a plasc ap.
Unplug the 3 pin connector (with brown
wire) on the CAN distribuon block. Use a
pick tool and press down the terminal lock
on the PIN 2 Yellow/White (or Pink/White)
wire (CAN HIGH) and PIN 3 Yellow (or Pink)
wire (CAN LOW). Unplug the terminal wires
and insert them to the 3 pin socket included
in the kit following the diagram below.
CAN Low (Yellow or Pink) PIN 1
CAN High (Yellow/White or Pink/White) PIN 3
Connect the 3 pin socket to the corresponding 3 pin plug found on the VIMMB-78S harness.
Insert the Yellow/Black wire from the
VIMMB-78S harness into PIN 2 and the Blue/
Black wire to PIN 3 of the 3 pin connector on
the Comand distribuon block.

SYSTEM COMPATIBILITY:
VIDEO IN MOTION ACTIVATION:
The Video In Moon funcon can be permanently acvated by seng DIP #1 to ON. Alternavely, a
non-permanent acvaon can be achieved by seng DIP #1 to OFF and by using the GREEN wire on
the VIMMB-78S harness. Connect the GREEN wire to +12V to acvate the Video In Moon funcon.
Use a toggle switch (not included) to conveniently acvate or deacvate the VIM funcon. Connect
one leg of the toggle switch to +12V and the GREEN wire to the other leg.

AUDIO/VIDEO INPUT:
The VIMMB-85S includes an Audio/Video cable for an external A/V source. Plug in the Audio/Video
cable to the OEM A/V port. The OEM A/V port can be found inside the glove box or in the center
console. Set the radio to A/V mode to acvate the source.
