By using this product, the user agrees to the terms and conditions stated below:
1. Only one (1) license RVC coding is available on the RVCGM-80I.
2. Removal of RVC coding cannot be done using the RVCGM-80I. A Chevrolet dealership can remove
the RVC coding at user’s expense.
3. During the programming process:
- Maintain Battery voltage above 12 volts. (Do not use any accessories)
- Do not disconnect the OBD2-Dongle until the programming process has been completed.

OBD-Dongle LED Indicator
The LEDs are located inside the Dongle Module at right side of 8 pin connector.
(LED states last approximately 5 seconds)
BLUE LED
Solid = Normal operation
RED LED
Solid = Invalid operation
Blinking with BLUE LED OFF = License expired
GREEN LED
Solid = RVC Coding successfully
Blinking and BLUE LED OFF = License valid / BLUE
LED ON = diagnostic coding in progress
RED and GREEN LEDs
Solid = CAN Communication Error or Diagnostic session terminated with error.
OBD-Dongle License note
To verify if the OBD-Dongle license has been used or not:
Connect +12V to OBD 2 connector, Pin 4 or Pin 5 to GND
and Pin 16 to +12V.
Observe LED condition, if:
Flashing RED = License expired (Dongle has been used)
Flashing GREEN = Valid License (Dongle has not been used)
Please follow the installation instructions carefully to successfully code the RVC.
1. The OBD2 Port is usually located under steering wheel column.
2. Turn Ignition to the ON position (do not start engine).
3. Turn OFF Head Light to reduce power usage.
4. Turn On radio and wait until it has booted and is ready for normal operation.
5. Plug in the OBD-Dongle into OBD2 port.
6. Wait until the LED lights up to a solid GREEN (the process should be completed in about 10
seconds), then unplug OBD-Dongle from vehicle OBD2 port.
7. Turn Key to OFF, remove the key, open driver door then close, lock the vehicle and wait for
approximately 2 minutes.

8. Unlock the vehicle, open driver door, start the engine and shift to REVERSE Gear. If no
camera has been connected yet, within 20 seconds, the Radio Screen should switch to a Blue
Screen with the message “Service Rear Vision System“. This means that the RVC Coding was
successful. (see screen image on the next page)
9. If the Radio screen does not switch to a Blue Screen, Turn Off vehicle. At HMI-Module,
disconnect the Black 20-Pin connector for about 5 seconds and reconnect. Start the engine
again and shift to Reverse Gear; this should fix the issue.
Repeat steps 6 and 7 if necessary.

Coding is successful if a Blue Screen with the message,
“Service Rear Vision System”, appears on the screen

Video RCA Cable Connection (Pinout)
Insert the Video RCA cable Camera Signal + to Pin# 5 of the GRAY 20-Pin connector and the
Camera Signal Ground to Pin# 6. See diagram below:

Factory HMI Module Location
Camera Connection
Mount the camera (not included) at the rear of the vehicle. Power the camera by tapping the
RED power lead to +12V from the reverse light wire and BLACK to Ground. Run the extension
cable towards the HMI location. Plug in the male YELLOW video RCA to the female RCA of the
RVCGM-80I video cable. Test the camera for functionality.
Compatible Radios
IO5 = MyLink Radio, AM/FM stereo with CD player
IO6 = MyLink Radio with Navigation, AM/FM stereo and CD player
The Regular Production Option (RPO) Code label is located in spare tire well or inside glove
compartment.
