2. SAFETY INFORMATION
2.1 WARNINGS
Before turning the equipment on for the first time, read the whole manual and pay special
attention to all the safety measures in order to prevent any damage that may occur either to the
user or the patient.
This symbol shall be used in this manual to indicate information that includes warnings
or important precautions.
Please, read the manual thoroughly before operating the equipment.
Should you have any doubt regarding the contents of the manual herein or the equipment
operation and safety, please contact your local distributor or the closest ECLERIS office.
ECLERIS will not assume any liability for damages that may occur if the device is used without
following the instructions and/or ignoring the following advice:
Keep the device out of children reach
Do not install the device close to heat sources like stoves.
Always install the device on top of firm and horizontal surfaces, on a perfect ventilated
area.
Do not block the ventilation screens. This ventilation must assure good air flow.
Avoid device exposure to direct sun light, dust, humidity, vibration or shock.
Do not put any container with liquids on top of the device; do not expose the device to rain
or sun.
Do not bend or tied a nut on the power cable, or any cable connected to the device.

Do not use volatile substances (benzine, thinner or solvents in general) to clean the
equipment since it may be damaged. It is recommended to use a soft wet cloth soaked in
neutral soap or any specific product to clean electronic equipment cabinets.
Do not introduce objects in the holes.
Prevent the power supply cable from being walked over or placed under any piece of
furniture.
Do not use the device during thunderstorms.
After the use of the device, turn it off and disconnect the power cable.
In order to avoid Electrical shocks this system must be connected to a power grid with
proper ground connection. (No exceptions)
The device is provided with a connectable power cable that assures proper electrical
isolation on the grid.
In the case of electromagnetic interference between medical device and other electrical
device, we recommend to increase the distance between the systems in order to minimize
the interference effects.
Do not open the device. The diagnose, service and repairs must be perfomed by
ECLEIRS, or a company authorized by ECLERIS. ECLERIS will not be liable for the
damage caused by repairs, or service performed by not authorize personnel.
In case of any problem, the system must be laid a plane surface and power cable
disconnected.
The device must be used only by personnel informed of all this warnings.
Any use outside of the manufacturer specific intent use, will exclude ECLERIS of all
liability.
This user manual must be with the device for permanent review. If the system is sold or
donated, the user manual must be deliver with the device.
If as a consequence of:
Inadequate use of the equipment.
No use of this manual.
Poor care and maintenance of the equipment or.
Repair and manipulation by unauthorized personnel.
…any material or personal damage were caused to third parties, ECLERIS, the manufacturer and
the supplier of the equipment, shall not assume any responsibility for such damages
Do not dispose the device, or any of the accessories with the domestic waste.
Research the local rules and laws for proper disposal. It is the user responsibility to
deliver the system to the proper location for disposal or recycle of electrical and
electronic device or contact the manufacturer or authorized representative to proceed
on the elimination of the system on a safe and ecological way.
3. DESCRIPTION
3.1 INTENDED USE
Everlux light source has been designed to be used in all Ecleris microscope and colposcope
models as well as in therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
The cold and white light of this equipment enhances the real brightness and colors allowin its use
for all types of procedures.

3.2 INTENDED USER
The device has been designed to be used only for medical, paramedical or health professionals.
3.3 FEATURES AND DESCRIPTION
EVERLUX light source, based on the LED technology, has been designed to be used in all
ECLERIS microscope and colposcope models as well as in many medical applications.
This light source has a connection for endocamera, video outputs and universal adapter for those
fiber optic models most widely distributed in the market.
It has a LED (Light Emitting Diode) lighting module which produces the necessary light to obtain
video images. The cold, deep and white light of this equipment enhances the real brightness and
colors allowing its use for all types of procedures.
The EVERLUX allows the connection of the Ecleris PROCAM universal endocamera which has a
1/3” CCD sensor and integrated controls, especially designed for medical applications ensuring a
high image quality, precision and resolution.
This endocamera allows the electronic capture of the image, its processing and conversion to
video signal with adequate features for the connection to external devices such as monitors,
video-printers, image capturing systems, etc.

3.4 COMPONENTS
EVERLUX light source includes the following components. It is recommended to identify and
check their existence before proceeding with the installation.

4. INSTALLATION AND SET UP
Experienced or expert personnel are not required to install the EVERLUX.
Once the installation is over, please continue with the procedures detailed in the Revision
section.
Thoroughly follow the instructions included in this section.
1) Unpack the equipment carefully.
2) In case of using the EVERLUX as an endoscopic light source, place it on a solid and flat
surface.
3) Rotate the universal adapter until the corresponding connector is aligned with the light
output.
4) Connect the fiber optic cable to the corresponding connector of the universal adapter
(depending on the fiber optic to be used). The fiber optic connector shall match perfectly
and not exceed the adapter.
5) In case of using the EVERLUX as a Microscope / Colposcope light source, mount the
EVERLUX on the Ecleris Microscope / Colposcope forearm (See “Light Source
Installation” Section in Ecleris Microscope /Colposcope User’s Manual)
6) Rotate the universal adapter until the Wolf connector is aligned with the light output.
7) Connect the fiber optic cable to the Wolf connector of the universal adapter. The fiber optic
connector shall match perfectly and not exceed the adapter.
When turning the light source on, check fans functioning.
If due to any breakdown they do not work, turn the equipment off immediately to avoid
failures in the LED system as a result of high temperature.
The EVERLUX shall only be used in places with electrical installations that meet the local
regulations in effect.
It shall always be connected to the grounding of the operating room or endoscopy tower
through a ground cable.
The EVERLUX shall be connected to the voltage line through the power supply cable
provided.
The power supply shall only be provided with a protected plug and the adequate ground
connection.

4.1 REVISION
Once installation is over and before turning the EVERLUX on, please go through the following
check list:
Verify that the electrical network has its grounding connection in perfect conditions and
that it makes perfect contact with the equipment.
Check that the fuse holder has a fuse installed and that it is the correct one (T3AL250V).
Check that the lateral ventilation grid is completely free, without obstruction.
Ensure an adequate air flow.
Verify that there are no water or liquid sources near the equipment that may damage it,
such as gases or flammable emissions in the environment.
All connections shall be made before turning the equipment on.
The EVERLUX shall only be used in places with electrical installations that meet the
national, provincial and local regulations in effect.
If before connecting the EVERLUX any anomaly is detected, please contact the technical service
department of your local distributor or the closest ECLERIS office, prior to its use.
5. OPERATION –FUNCTIONS
This section thoroughly describes the device functioning.
This system must be used only for medical, paramedical or health professionals.
1) Connect the power supply cable to the equipment and the electrical network.
2) Turn the EVERLUX on by pressing the general on/off switch.
3) Turn the LED system on by turning the light intensity control (dimmer) clockwise.
4) Use this control to regulate the light intensity.
The EVERLUX light source has an over-temperature protection. LED system will turn off if
it reaches a risky operation temperature.
5) Once the procedure is over, turn the EVERLUX off in order to maximize the LED system
lifetime and energy saving.
6) Should you use a video camera (Ecleris PROCAM), connect it to the video input
connector.
7) Connect the video output (rear panel BNC or S-Video connector) to the video input of the
viewing device and turn the EVERLUX on.
8) Select the video input and video Standard in the viewing device.
6. MAINTENANCE
In order to keep an optimum operation of the EVERLUX it is recommended to perform the
following procedures:
Periodic cleaning of all exterior components.
Connections inspection.
Annual technical inspection of the equipment.

To perform any revision or maintenance work, contact your local distributor or the closest
ECLERIS office.
6.1 CLEANING
Before cleaning the EVERLUX, disconnect the power supply cable form the electrical network.
6.1.1 EXTERNAL SURFACES
Clean the external surface of the equipment using a piece of cotton or cloth moistened with mild
detergent or soap. Use only adequate products for the external cleaning of electrical equipments,
prepared in accordance with the manufacturer’s indications.
Perform the cleaning with special care, avoiding water or humidity access to the
equipment.
Do not use flammable products, especially alcohol when the EVERLUX is hot.
Do not send to the autoclave any part or component of this device that are not specifically
marked as autoclavable.
Do no sterilize or immerse the device or its accessories
The cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of accessories not provided by ECLERIS must
be performed following the instruction provided by their manufacturer
Do not turn the light source on until an hour (1) has passed from the cleaning, since the
unit can get damaged.
It is recommended to clean the exterior surface of the device every 15 days
6.2 ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Constantly check the condition of all components and their aging process.
Verify there are no:
Faulty, broken or cut cables.
Faulty connection between the cable and the plug.
Oxide corrosion in connection pins.
6.3 FUSE CHANGE
To avoid time losses due to downtime of the EVERLUX, it is recommended to have spare fuses.
1) Disconnect the power supply cable from the electrical network and the equipment.
2) Under the power supply cable connector there is a small rectangular plastic holder where
the fuses are located. Using a screwdriver and with a slight pressure remove the lid to
replace the damaged fuse.
3) Remove the burnt fuse and replace it with the spare fuse. Get a new spare fuse to avoid
loss of time and an inoperative unit.
To avoid shock, injury, or damage to the EVERLUX, use ONLY fuses with the same
specified ratings (T3AL250V)
4) Place the fuse lid back pushing it until a “click” is heard”.
5) Connect the power supply cable.

9. TECHNICAL SERVICE
EVERLUX should be repaired and/or maintained exclusively by ECLERIS trained and qualified
personnel in authorized installations and must only be repaired the parts of the device that
ECLERIS state as repairable.
ECLERIS will provide under request circuits, list of components, description calibration
instructions or any other information in order to assist the ECLERIS authorized technical
personnel.
We recommend using the following procedure to expedite repair service and reposition of
products under guarantee.
1) Contact the technical service department of your local distributor or nearest ECLERIS
office.
2) Provide detailed information on the problem.
3) If the problem cannot be solved through troubleshooting, it must be sent for repair.
The following information should be sent with the product:
Owners name
Owners address
Person to contact and a telephone number
Product serial number
Problem description.
The shipment should be done in the original packaging to avoid damage to the equipment
during the transportation. ECLERIS will not be responsible for damage caused during the
transportation due to improper packaging.
10. WARRANTY
ECLERIS states that the EVERLUX has complied with the required Quality Control verification
and has no manufacturing defects. This guarantees the appropriate functioning under adequate
use in agreement with the indications of this manual. The warranty period is for one (1) year as
from the date of purchase invoice.
ECLERIS shall not be liable for any damage caused to/by the EVERLUX due to incorrect use,
negligence, cleaning or incorrect storage. Any repairs made by personnel not authorized by
ECLERIS will void this warranty. The described warranty is exclusively valid for the original
buyer.
The following parts are excluded from the warranty:
•Damages resulting from connections to inadequate power supplies.
•Cables and plugs.
•Damage caused by connections to incorrect power sources.
Disregarding the warranty situation, all shipment from and to the authorized ECLERIS technical
service facilities is the sole responsibility of the client.
