2. SECURITY WARNINGS
It is important to read this manual carefully before using the device ECLERIS will not be held
responsible for damage that can occur to the equipment due to not following the instructions or
not observing the following criteria:
Keep the equipment out of children reach.
Do not install the equipment next to heat sources, such as heaters.
Install the equipment in a well-ventilated area
Protect the equipment and accessories from direct solar light, dust, humidity and vibrations
or excessive banging.
The equipment does not need sterilization.
Equipment not appropriate to be used near or around flammable anesthetic mixture with air,
oxygen or nitrous oxide.
Do not put any container with liquids near the device.
Main power cord cable are resistant to deformations and mechanical tensions however do
not damage or avoid violent shocks to the cables.
Do not use the equipment during electrical storms.

Unplug the equipment when it is not being used.
This equipment has to be connected to ground through a ground conductor in the power
cable. This ground connection is essential for the safe use of the equipment.
Do not connect the equipment to devices that do not comply with IEC60601-1ed 3.0 or later.
The device is provided with a connectable power cable that assures proper electrical
isolation. If it needs to be replaced, the replacement will not be longer that the original cable
and it needs to be certified under IEC 60245-1 or IEC 60227-1.
In case of interference with other electro medical or electric equipment, we recommend
increasing the distance between HD Splitter and the other equipment to minimize these
effects.
Do not open the equipment. Maintenance and repairs must be done by ECLERIS or an
authorized company. ECLERIS will not be responsible for the consequences of repairs or
maintenance carried out by non-authorized personal.
In case of any problem, disconnect the power cable.
This instruction manual must be kept together with the equipment for future reference. If the
equipment should be sold or donated this manual must be enclosed.
Any use outside of the manufacturer specific intent use, will exclude ECLERIS of all liability.
If by any of the following:
Inadequate use of the equipment.
Failure to use the instruction manual.
Bad maintenance and care of the equipment.
Repair or manipulation by unauthorized personal.
…personal or material damage is produced to a third party, ECLERIS, the manufacturer and
sales agent of this equipment, will not assume reasonability for said damage.
The device should never be discarded with the household waste. Please check local
regulations for electronic components disposal or recycling. It is the user’s responsibility to
deliver the system to the proper location for disposal or recycle of electrical and electronic
device.
3. INTRODUCTION
3.1 INTENDED USE
The system is designed to display high definition 2D images using monitors that have HDMI
inputs. It is located between the optical head and the binocular to take the optical signals. The
system supports working distances between 200mm and 400mm focal length. The system allows
keeping the binocular installed in the microscope, so that you can get HD images on the monitor,
and use the binocular in conventional way simultaneously.

3.2 INTENDED USER
Any health professional or technician who has basic knowledge on how to operate a stereoscopic
microscope.
3.3 DESCRIPTION
The device is designed to capture the direct image of a microscope / colposcope with binocular
stereoscopic vision, these images are processed in the beam splitter where you can select
different levels of Gain / Brightness, Windows and perform White Balance.
The beam splitter has 2 removable adapters that allow you to install it in different models and
brands of microscopes / colposcopes available in the market. We recommend consulting in each
particular case informing brand and model.
In its conventional use the beam splitter is inserted between the head of the microscope and the
binocular, allowing the normal use of the binocular for a direct view with the microscope and in a
monitor.
The beam splitter connects directly to the monitor via a standard HDMI-HDMI cable, and sends
high-definition video through the video output.

4. INSTALLATION
The connection and revision of the equipment must be carried out by technical personnel
with knowledge of the electrical installation from where the equipment will be powered.
Follow the next steps to install the system:
1) Carefully unpack the equipment.
2) Place the HD Splitter on the optical head adjusting the fixing screw and then place the
binocular on top of the HD Splitter and adjust the fixing screw.
3) Connect the HD Splitter to the monitor via the HDMI cable. Connect the power supply to the
HD Splitter and then to the electrical socket.

5) Perform White Balance if it is the first time you use the system. You do not need to repeat
this procedure each time you turn on the device since the system stores the last white
balance calibration performed in memory. To perform this step, see Section 5.3 White
Balance Function.
6) Carry out parafocalization. To perform a correct para-focalization, place the object to be
displayed at the appropriate focal length under the objective lens of the microscope.
If your microscope has fine focus control, place it in the middle of its path. Place the
eyepieces in the neutral position (uncorrected) and select the largest magnification of the
microscope. Then adjust the height of the microscope and fine-tune the fine-focus. Select
decreasingly all magnifications, until the minimum magnification, verifying that all are in
focus. If not, make the necessary adjustments with the fine-focus until you reach the
optimum target. If it is necessary to adjust the focus, you should recheck it with all
magnifications. Repeat the procedure until you can focus correctly on all magnifications.
7) Once you have performed the parafocalization with the microscope through the eyepieces,
proceed to check the focusing of the image on the screen. Look at the image that appeared
on the screen and verify that it is in focus. If this is not the case, proceed to correct through
the adjustment screw located on the HD Splitter body using a flat screwdriver.
5. FUNCTIONS
5.1. WINDOWS FUNCTION
With the Window function activated, the active portion where the video camera performs a gain
adjustment is reduced, which means that a smaller portion of the full image area on the video
monitor will be used by the video camera to make adjustments on Gain / brightness / intensity,

this impacts on the brightness of the image since only the central part of the image is taken to
compensate the level of illumination.
By selecting the appropriate Windows level the image will be displayed with the appropriate
brightness level. The different levels of Windows select different areas of interest of the total
image to adjust the most appropriate level of brightness. This greatly improves the contrast of the
image. Once you select the desired level of Windows it will remain until a new level is selected.
If the image, after adjusting the Windows level remains unchanged, the lighting levels are optimal
and there is no need to adjust the Windows, however any change of lighting will be automatically
compensated if any of the levels of Windows remains active.
The system has 4 levels of Windows:
Off: LED Indicator Off.
Level 1: LED Flashing Indicator.
Level 2: LED Indicator Flashing Fast,
Level 3: LED Indicator Constantly On.
After five seconds of selecting a level for this function, it will be stored in memory. This means
that, in case you turn the splitter off, the Windows level set in the equipment when you turn it on
again will be the last one you selected before turning the splitter off.
When the splitter is recording the set level in memory, the White Balance LED indicator (central
position) will blink.
5.1.1. INVERT THE IMAGE
If you have to install the splitter in an inverted position due to your microscope’s characteristics,
you will be able to invert the image by pressing the Windows button for a few seconds. This will
allow you to see the image properly, even if you installed the equipment in an inverted position.
5.2. BRIGTHNESS / GAIN FUNCTION
The Brightness / Gain function sets 3 different levels of brightness in the image, by pressing the
corresponding button you can select the brightness level most suitable to achieve an optimal
image on the screen.
The system has 3 levels of Brightness / Gain:
Off: LED Indicator Off.
Level 1: LED Flashing Indicator.
Level 2: LED Indicator Constantly On.
5.3. WHITE BALANCE FUNCTION
Only if the White Balance is set correctly, reliable color reproduction is guaranteed.
The White Balance function allows the equipment to perform an internal calibration to
compensate for differences in the color temperatures of different light sources, ensuring reliable
color reproduction. Since this function adjusts the camera parameters for a particular light source,

the White Balance procedure must be performed each time the light source to be used with the
equipment is changed.
To get the White Balance, focus on a completely white and illuminated image with light intensity
at maximum power and press the White Balance button for approximately 3 seconds.
This White Balance remains stored in memory even when the camera is turned off. During the
White Balance setting, the White Balance indicator flashes to indicate that the White Balance is
being performed, then when the White Balance button is not pressed the LED indicator remains
off.
Perform a new White Balance if the light source is changed.
Always perform the White Balance with the light source that will be used to carry out the
procedure afterwards.
6. MAINTENANCE
6.1 CLEANING
Before cleaning the PROCAM HD Splitter, disconnect the power cable from the electric
power supply.
Do not sterilize nor immerse in liquid the device or any of its accessories or parts.
To clean the outer surfaces of the device only use a soft cloth dampened in mild detergent or
soap. Only use adequate cleaning products prepared for electrical equipment following the
products instructions.
We recommend cleaning the external surfaces once every 15 days.
Never use flammable products, especially alcohol, when the unit is hot.
While cleaning, be careful not to let water or humidity get into the equipment.
Do not use any abrasive agent.
Wait at least 15 minutes after cleaning the device before connecting and use it
again.

This system is not designed to be used in the presence of inflammable anesthetic gases
mixture with air, oxygen, nitrous oxide, or ambient with high oxygen content.
The device is provided with a connectable power cable that assures proper electrical
isolation.
8. TROUBLESHOOTING
The following table indicates the most common problems and their solutions. Please consult this
table if you have any inconvenience.
As PROCAM HD Splitter is always used in combination with a video monitor and a microscope or
colposcope, faults should be analyzed considering the whole system.

If the inconvenience cannot be solved, please contact your local distributor or the nearest
ECLERIS office and ask for technical service.
9. TECHNICAL SERVICE
PROCAM HD Splitter should be repaired and/or maintained exclusively by ECLERIS trained and
qualified personnel in authorized installations and must only be repaired the parts of the device
that ECLERIS state as repairable. ECLERIS will provide under request circuits, list of
components, description calibration instructions or any other information in order to assist the
ECLERIS authorized technical personnel.
We recommend using the following procedure to expedite repair service and reposition of
products under guarantee.
1. Contact the technical service department of your local distributor or nearest ECLERIS office.
2. Provide detailed information on the problem.
3. If the problem cannot be solved through troubleshooting, it must be sent for repair.

Problem description
The shipment should be done in the original packaging to avoid damage to the equipment during
the transportation. ECLERIS will not be responsible for damage caused during the transportation
due to improper packaging.
10. WARRANTY
ECLERIS declares that the PROCAM HD Splitter has passed our Quality Control and no defects
have been found in its manufacture, therefore guarantees proper working order under adequate
conditions that are indicated in this manual. The guarantee is for the term of one (1) year starting
on the purchase date.
ECLERIS shall not be responsible for damage caused by/to the PROCAM HD Splitter and its
power supplies for inadequate use, neglect, incorrect cleaning or storage. Any repairs carried out
by anyone other than ECLERIS authorized personal will annul this warranty. This warranty is only
valid for the original buyer.
Without regarding the warranty, all shipping cost to and from ECLERIS authorized installations
are exclusive responsibility of the client.
