FUMEREX is a ceriied standalone, batery powered smoke and carbon
monoxide alarm system. In case of smoke detecion or carbon monoxide
level increase, It will send text SMS to authorized users.
Fumerex est un détecteur de fumée et de monoxyde de carbone ceriié,
autonome, à bateries. En cas de détecion de fumée ou de montée du niveau
de monoxyde de carbone, il enverra un SMS aux uilisateurs autorisés.

If your unit is in CO criical concentraion level ALARM, keep calm and carry out the following
acions in the priority order:
• Open all windows and doors to increase the rate of venilaion
• Turn of the fuel-burning appliances where possible
• Evacuate the building leaving the windows and doors open and re-enter the property only when
the alarm has stopped
• Get immediate medical assistance for anyone sufering the efects of carbon monoxide poisoning
(nausea, headache), and report that carbon monoxide inhalaion is suspected
• Contact the gas or other fuel supplier on their emergency phone number in order to idenify and
eliminate the source of carbon monoxide emissions
• Do not use the fuel-burning appliance again unil it has been veriied and conirmed by a
competent person according to naional regulaions
CARBON MONOXIDE (CO) POISONING
There could be other sources of carbon monoxide emissions. For example large amount of
city gas, tobacco smoke or smoldering ire can cause CO concentraion ALARM.
CONCENTRATION SYMPTOMS
35 ppm (0.0035%) Headache and dizziness within six to eight hours of constant exposure
100 ppm (0.01%) Slight headache in two to three hours
200 ppm (0.02%) Slight headache within two to three hours; loss of judgment
400 ppm (0.04%) Frontal headache within one to two hours
800 ppm (0.08%) Dizziness, nausea, and convulsions within 45 min; insensible within 2 hours
1,600 ppm (0.16%) Headache, increased heart rate, dizziness, and nausea within 20 min; death in less than 2 hours
ppm - Parts Per Million - is used to describe concentraions of contaminants in air.
Carbon monoxide is a product of incomplete combusion of organic mater. It is a toxic gas, but being
colorless, odorless, tasteless, and iniially non-irritaing, it is very diicult for people to detect.
Clean the outside case of device occasionally with a clean issue to ensure that the holes of
the unit are not blocked with dirt or dust.
Some household substances can afect the sensiivity of the detectors in a short or long term.
Avoid the use of model paint, model glue or nail polish remover close to the alarm. Do not use
aerosol sprays, household cleaners, polishes or perfumes close to the device.

The system can operate in one of the following modes at a ime:
Sleep – The micro-controller and the GSM modem are disabled and the system will not be able to
accept the SMS text messages or phone calls. This mode is used most of the system’s upime to
signiicantly extend batery life. The system starts up in Sleep mode.
Wake-Up – The micro-controller and the GSM modem are acive and the system is ready to send SMS
text messages, accept the SMS text messages and phone calls. The system will switch to WAKE-UP
mode if any of following events occurs:

AHOW FUMEREX WORKS: ALARM NOTIFICATION
In the event of smoke/CO detecion, the system will cause an alarm and can noify the listed user
phone number by SMS text message.
In the event of alarm, the system will follow this patern:
• The system switches to Wake-Up mode (see SLEEP AND WAKE-UP MODES).
• The system atempts to send an SMS text message containing alarm text to all listed user
phone numbers simultaneously.
• The system auto-resets the smoke or CO detector when the smoke/CO clears. The system will
not extend the Wake-Up mode period nor deliver any extra SMS text message in case of alarm
recurrence while the Wake-Up mode period is in progress.
• The system may fail to deliver the SMS text message to the listed user phone number due to
the following reasons:
• system or user's phone has been out of GSM signal coverage.
• user’s mobile phone has been switched of.
• The system sends the SMS text message only once and in case of all unsuccessful atempts
within a Wake-Up period, the system will switch to Sleep mode and erase the alarm event
from the memory.
CO related SMS text messages and device indicaions:
• CO criical level 1 – when CO concentraion 30-49ppm remains for more than 120 minutes.
This level causes no audible alarm.
• CO criical level 2 – when CO concentraion 50-99ppm remains for more than 60 minutes.
Indicated by a 2-second beep every 5 seconds and red indicator lash.
• CO criical level 3 – when CO concentraion 100-299ppm remains for more than 10 minutes.
Indicated by a 2-second beep every 5 seconds and red indicator lash.
• CO criical level 4 – when CO concentraion 300ppm and more are reached. Indicated by a
2-second beep every 5 seconds and red indicator lash.
• Fresh air – when CO level decreases from any criical level to 0-29ppm. This level causes no
audible alarm.
• CO sensor ERROR – CO sensor has failed. Please contact your local supplier for repair service.
CO sensor lifeime is 7 years.

BHOW FUMEREX WORKS: BATTERY STATUS SUPERVISION
The system supports batery energy supervision feature allowing noify the listed user by SMS
text message when a low batery level is reached. The system measures the batery level every 30
minutes and in case the batery level is below 5% ater two checks in a row, the system will noify
the user regarding this issue.
In the event of low batery, the system will follow this patern:
• The system switches to Wake-Up mode (see SLEEP AND WAKE-UP MODES).
• The system atempts to send an SMS text message regarding low batery event to all listed
user phone numbers simultaneously.
• The system may fail to deliver the SMS text message to the listed user phone number due to
the following reasons:
• system or user's phone has been out of GSM signal coverage.
• user’s mobile phone has been switched of.
• The system sends the SMS text message only once and in case of all unsuccessful atempts
within a Wake-Up period, the system will switch to Sleep mode and erase the alarm event
from the memory.

HOW FUMEREX WORKS: TEST PROCEDURE
The TEST buton intended for veriicaion if the unit is operaional as well as to switch it to Wake-
UP mode and send an informaional SMS text message ideniied as the Test SMS, which provides
the following:
• GSM signal strength
• Barrery level
• Sensors tests result
Test your detectors weekly and upon returning from vacaion or when no one has been in the
household for several days. DO NOT use an open lame to test the device. You may ignite and
damage the unit or your home.
To perform the test, please follow the instrucions:
• Firmly push the TEST buton for two seconds and the detector will sound a loud beep. The
alarm will stop sounding ater releasing the TEST buton.
• Stand at arm’s length from the detector when tesing.
In the event of test, the system will follow this patern:
• The system switches to Wake-Up mode (see SLEEP AND WAKE-UP MODES).
• When the system is successfully registered with the GSM network, a red indicator on the front
panel begins to lash approximately twice per second. This indicator is lashing all the ime, when
the system is ready to send SMS text messages, accept the SMS text messages and phone calls.
• The system atempts to send an SMS text message regarding test event to all listed user phone
numbers simultaneously.
• If the TEST buton has been pressed repeatedly while the Wake-Up mode period is in progress, the
Wake-Up mode period will be extended.
• The system may fail to deliver the SMS text message to the listed user phone number due to the
following reasons:
• system or user's phone has been out of GSM signal coverage.
• user’s mobile phone has been switched of.
• The system sends the SMS text message only once and in case of all unsuccessful atempts within
a Wake-Up period, the system will switch to Sleep mode and erase the alarm event from the
memory.

ADDITIONAL CONFIGURATION BY SMS
Before staring coniguraion you need to wake up your FUMEREX. Press and hold the TEST buton for two
seconds. To conigure the system send the text command to the phone number of FUMEREX from one of the
listed user phone numbers.
ESSENTIAL INFORMATION FOR CONFIGURATION VIA YOUR MOBILE PHONE
• Make sure you don’t leave any spaces at the beginning or end of the message.
• If you receive the message “wrong syntax”, please check your message and try again.
• The " " represents one space character.

Restoring Default Parameters
1. Insert the batery into the unit.
2. Press the TEST buton for 2 seconds to wake up the device.
3. Press and hold for 5-6 seconds the RESET buton on the back panel of FUMEREX unil green LED on
the back panel provides several short lashes.
4. Release the RESET buton.
Updaing the Firmware via USB Cable
1. Remove the batery.
2. Press and hold the RESET buton.
3. Connect the device via USB cable to the PC.
4. The new window must pop-up where you will ind the .bin ile. Otherwise open Computer and look for CRP
DISABLED drive.
5. Release the RESET buton.
6. Delete the .bin ile found in the drive.
7. Copy the new irmware .bin ile to the very same window.
8. Unplug USB cable.
Batery replacement
1. Turn FUMEREX counter-clockwise to detach it from the mouning plate.
2. Gently pull the device down.
3. Remove the old batery from the batery pocket.
4. Press TEST buton to fully discharge device internal electrical capaciies.
5. Posiion the new batery into the batery slot based on the posiive/negaive terminals indicated on the
enclosure of FUMEREX.
6. Ensure the plasic batery holder is fully depressed when the batery has been ited.
7. Re-atach FUMEREX to the mouning plate by turning the device clockwise unil it snaps into place.
8. Using the TEST buton, test the device to verify if it is operaional
We strongly recommend using EVE CR9V-P, Energizer LA522 or Ultralife U9 VL-J 6F22 batery.

Manufacturer Warranty
ELDES UAB warrants this system only to the original purchaser and only in case
of defecive workmanship and materials under normal use of the system for a
period of twenty four (24) months from the date of shipment by the ELDES UAB.
Warranty obligaions do not cover expandable materials (components, which
require periodic replacement with the operaion of system - power elements
(bateries)), holders and enclosures. The warranty remains valid only if the
system is used as intended, following all guidelines outlined in this manual and
in accordance with the operaing condiions speciied. The warranty is void if the
system has been exposed to mechanical impact, chemicals, high humidity, luids,
corrosive and hazardous environments or force majeure factors.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Batery powered GSM smoke & CO alarm system FUMEREX (later
referenced as “the system”) is equipped with a radio transceiver operaing in
GSM850/900/1800/1900 bands. Please read and follow these safety guidelines
in order to maintain safety of operators and people around:
• DO NOT use the system where it can cause potenial danger and interfere with
other devices – such as medical devices.
• DO NOT use the system in hazardous environment.
• DO NOT expose the system to high humidity, chemical environment or
mechanical impact.
ELDES is not a guard insituion. In case of ire or other potenial
danger do not overesimate your abiliies to protect your
household. Contact your emergency services irst if personal
alarm was caused by potenial danger.
FUMEREX is a device that must be installed in limited access
areas.
Remove all bateries before installing.
Never install or carry out maintenance during stormy weather.
The system must be powered by a Primary 9V Lithum 1200mAh
batery only. When insering the batery into the batery slots,
mind the polarity terminals! Any addiional device you connect
to the system, such as a computer, must be powered by an EN
60950-1 approved supply.
To switch the system of, remove the batery.
If you use a computer for the FUMEREX irmware update, it must
be earthed.
Disposal and recycling informaion
The WEEE (Waste Electrical and
Electronic Equipment) symbol on this
product (see let) means it must not
be disposed of in household waste. To
prevent possible harm to human health
and/or the environment, you must
dispose of this product in an approved
and environmentally safe recycling

CE QUE JE DOIS SAVOIR
Si votre détecteur vous alerte d'un taux de conscentraion de CO trop élevé, gardez votre calme et
suivez les acions suivantes dans l'ordre de priorité:
• Ouvrir toutes les fenêtres et portes pour augmenter la venilaion.
• Eteindre les appareils qui consument du fuel dans la mesure du possible.
• Evacuez le bâiment en laissant fenêtres et portes ouvertes et ne rentrez pas avant l'arrêt de l'alarme.
• Obtenez une assistance médicale dès que quelqu'un soufre des efets de l'inhalaion de monoxyde de
carbone ( nausées, maux de tête), et si vous suspectez avoir inhaler du monoxyde de carbone, veuillez
en informer un médecin.
• Contactez votre fournisseur de gaz ou de fuel sur leur numéro de téléphone d'urgence pour qu'il puisse
trouver et éliminer la source de la fuite de monoxyde de carbone.
• Ne pas uiliser un appareil uilisant du fuel tant que votre installaion n'a pas été vériié par une personne
compétente en accord avec les règles naionales.
INTOXICATION AU CARBONE DE MONOXICE (CO)
La polluion extérieure, la fumée de tabac ou un départ de feu peuveut aussi être des sources
d'emissions de monoxyde de carbone.
Le monoxide de carbone est le produit d'une combusion incomplète d'une maière organique. C'est
un gaz toxique mais sans couleur, odeurs ou goût, et non irritant au début, il est donc diicile pour
les gens de le détecter.
Netoyer l'extérieur du détecteur régulièrement avec un issu propre pour netoyer la poussière
ou la saleté et ainsi déboucher les bouches de l'appareil. Quelques substances ménagères
peuvent afectés la sencibilitée des détecteurs sur le long ou court terme. Evitez l'uilisaion de
peinture, de colle ou de disolvant à proximité de l'alarme. Ne pas uiliser de sprays aérosols, de
netoyants ménagers, de parfums ou de cirage près de l'appareil.
