WARNING! Read and understand all
instructions.
Failure to follo all instructions listed
belo , may result in electric shock, fire
and/or serious personal injury.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
Work Area.
Keep your work area clean and well lit.
Cluttered benches and dark areas invite
accidents.
Do not operate power tools in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Po er
tools create sparks hich may ignite the
dust or fumes.
Keep bystanders, children, and visitors
away while operating a power tool. Distrac-
tions can cause you to lose control.
Electrical Safety.
Double Insulated tools are equipped with
a polarized plug (one blade is wider than
the other). This plug will fit in a polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit
fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still
does not fit, contact a qualified electrician
to install a polarized outlet. Do not change
the plug in any way. Double Insulation
eliminates the need for the three ire
grounded po er cord and grounded
po er supply system.
Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces
such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrig-
erators. There is an increased risk of elec-
tric shock if your body is grounded.
Don’t expose power tools to rain or wet con-
ditions. Water entering a po er tool ill
increase the risk of electric shock.
Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord
to carry the tools or pull the plug from an
outlet. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp
edges or moving parts. Replace damaged
cords immediately. Damaged cords
increase the risk of electric shock.
When operating a power tool outside, use
an outdoor extension cord marked “W-A” or
“W”. These cords are rated for outdoor
use and reduce the risk of electric shock.
Hold tools by insulated gripping surfaces
when performing an operation where the
cutting tool may contact hidden wiring or
its own cord. Contact with a “live” wire will
make exposed metal parts of the tool “live”
and shock the operator.
Personal Safety.
Stay alert, watch what you are doing
and use common sense when operating
a power tool. Do not use tool while tired or
under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or
medication. A moment of inattention
hile operating po er tools may result
in serious personal injury.
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing
or jewelry. Contain long hair. Keep your
hair, clothing, and gloves away from mov-
ing parts. Loose clothes, je elry or long
hair can be caught in moving parts.
Avoid accidental starting. Be sure switch is
off before plugging in. Carrying tools ith
your finger on the s itch or plugging in
tools that have the s itch on invites acci-
dents.
Remove adjusting keys or switches before
turning the tool on. A rench or a key that
is left attached to a rotating part of the
tool may result in personal injury.

Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and
balance at all times. Proper footing and
balance enables better control of the tool
in unexpected situations.
Use safety equipment. Always wear eye
protection. Dust mask, non-skid safety
shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection
must be used for appropriate conditions.
Tool Use and Care.
Use clamps or other practical way to secure
and support the workpiece to a stable plat-
form. Holding the ork by hand or against
your body is unsuitable and may lead to
loss of control.
Do not force tool. Use the correct tool for
your application. The correct tool ill do
the job better and safer at the rate for
hich it is designed.
Do not use tool if switch does not turn it on
or off. Any tool that cannot be controlled
ith the s itch is dangerous and must be
repaired.
Disconnect the plug from the power source
before making any adjustments, changing
accessories, or storing the tool. Such pre-
ventive safety measures reduce the risk of
starting the tool accidentally.
Store idle tools out of reach of children and
other untrained persons. Tools are danger-
ous in the hands of untrained users.
Maintain tools with care. Keep cutting tools
sharp and clean. Properly maintained
tools ith sharp cutting edges are less
likely to bind and are easier to control.
Check for misalignment or binding of mov-
ing parts, breakage of parts, and other con-
dition that may affect the tools operation. If
damaged, have the tool serviced before
using. Many accidents are caused by
poorly maintained tools.
Use only accessories that are recom-
mended by the manufacturer for your
model. Accessories that may be suitable
for one tool, may become hazardous
hen used on another tool.
SERVICE.
Tool service must be performed only by
qualified repair personnel. Service or
maintenance performed by unqualified
personnel could result in a risk of injury.
When servicing a tool, use only identical
replacement parts. Follow instructions in
the Maintenance section of this manual.
Use of unauthorized parts or failure to
follo Maintenance Instructions may cre-
ate a risk of electric shock or injury.

Personal protective equipment.
When using this po er tool, ear the fol-
lo ing protective equipment:
Safety glasses/goggles, hearing protection,
breathing mask.
Intended use.
This po er tool is intended for dry-sand-
ing small surfaces. With attached accesso-
ries the po er tool can also be used for
polishing, filing, cutting, parting, sa ing
and scraping.

OPERATION.
Switching ON/OFF the power tool (1).

First check the cable and plug for dam-
age.

Selecting the oscillating

the motor is running.
The oscillating frequency is dependent
on the accessory and type of application,
e. g.:
- High oscillating frequency:
Sanding, sa ing, scraping, filing, polish-
ing (stone, metal).
- Lo oscillating frequency:
Polishing (paint).

Replacing tools (3).
Risk of injury
- caused by the po er tool unintention-
ally s itching ON.
Before replacing the tools, ensure that
you disconnect the plug from the
po er supply.
- caused by sharp tools, e. g. scraper,
knife or blade.
Locking scre ith small asher (5b):
For sanding pad, sanding finger, polishing
pad, tungsten-carbide file.
Locking scre ith large asher (5c):
For sa blades, spatula, segmental and
cutting blades.

Unscre the locking scre ith the
Allen key (5a).
■
Replace tool and secure ith the
appropriate locking scre . Ensure that
the tool is correctly seated on the tool-
mount flange and that the bearing sur-
face is clean.
Attaching/replacing the sanding
sheet (4).
■
Align the sanding sheet and press on by
hand. In case of using stick-on sanding
sheet remove cover foil before.
■
Press the sanding sheet briefly and
forcefully onto a level surface and
s itch ON the po er tool.
This ensures good adhesion and pre-
vents premature ear.
■
When the point is orn, remove the
sanding sheet, rotate by 120° and re-
attach or replace.

MACHINING METHOD.
Sanding.
Materials: Wood, paint, metal, stone.
Typical applications:
■
Sanding small areas, particularly in cor-
ners, along edges and in areas hich are
difficult to access.
■
Sanding do n and stripping indo
frames, furniture, railings, etc.
■
Sanding rust off vehicles.
■
Also random orbit, belt or orbital
sander for sanding doors, gates, boats,
ooden floors, ooden stairs, etc.
Operating tips:
■
When sanding, move the po er tool
continuously and apply light pressure.
■
Work ith the sanding pad flat on the
material; do not ork ith just the
point.
■
Do not apply excessive pressure; this
ill not increase the cutting perfor-
mance, but ill simply ear out the
sanding pad quicker.
■
Select a high oscillating frequency
(if po er tool is adjustable).
Sawing with saw blade (3b).
Materials:
a) With standard sa blade – ood,
old putty, plaster, plastic.
b) With HSS sa blade – as above but
ith significantly longer service life;
also for fiber glass, sheet metal
(e. g. body sheet metal) up to
1 mm.
Typical applications:

Operating tips:
■
Workpiece must not vibrate; secure
small orkpieces.
■
In the case of metal sheets, simply
plunge the oscillating po er tool at the
desired point into the orkpiece (dia-
gram).
For a longer service life, lubricate
the sa line ith cutting paste or
grease.
■ Loosen a orn sa blade and turn.
■ Select a high oscillating frequency
(if po er tool is adjustable).
Sawing with E-Cut saw blade (3d).
Safe operating:
■Before using the E-cut sa blade, read
and
comply ith these operating instruc-
tions.
■Risk of injury! The sa teeth are very
sharp. Do NOT touch them hen
installing and using the sa blade.
■Before sa ing, ensure that there are no
live cables in the cutting path.
■The orkpiece hich is to be sa n
must be securely fitted in position or
clamped.
Attaching the E-cut sa blade:
■Clamp the E-cut sa blade perpendicu-
lar to the po er tool. Secure the sa
blade ith the clamping scre ith
large asher. Remove the protective
cover ith care.
Application:
■Use the E-cut sa blade for sa ing
ood, plasterboard and soft plastics.
NOT suitable for sa ing metal (e. g.
nails) and stone.
Operation tips:
■The E-cut sa blade must al ays be
attached perpendicular (90°) to the
po er tool. NEVER jam the sa blade
in the gap. Do NOT exert pressure
hen guiding the E-cut sa blade along
the cutting path.
■When inserting the E-cut sa blade
into the orkpiece or hen sa ing,
move the sa blade gently back ards
and for ards to ensure removal of
sa dust.
■When sa ing near hard materials
(stone/metal), ensure that the E-cut
sa blade is kept at a distance of
approx. 3 mm, as there is an increased
risk of the outer sa teeth breaking.
Scraping.
Typical applications:
With rigid scraper

■Removing damaged coatings, e. g. paint,
adhesives, underseal.
■Removing carpet adhesive residue
(e. g. on stairs or other small to
medium-sized areas).
With flexible scraper
■Light scraping ork.
■Removing stickers from glass surfaces.
■Removing old silicone filler.
Operating tips:
■When scraping soft material
(e. g. ood), keep the scraper flat on
the surface and apply light pressure,
other ise the scraper may cut into the
material (diagram). If required, clamp
the scraper the other ay round; this
reduces scraping pressure.
If required, sharpen the scraper blade:
■While the po er tool is running, hold
the scraper against a hetstone or
abrasive paper.
■Select a high oscillating frequency
(if po er tool is adjustable).
MAINTENANCE.
Risk of injury

Before cleaning the po er tool, ensure
that you disconnect the plug from the
po er supply.
Once a eek or more often if the po er
tool is used frequently:
■Clean the cooling-air apertures,
e. g. ith a small brush.

Only authorized service centers may serv-
ice, check and repair the po er tool in
accordance ith currently valid national
regulations.
