Function and application
The pneumatic sliding unit SLS... is a
double-scting cylinder protected against
incorrect rotation and with roller bearing
guide. When compressed air is applied
alternately to each port, the slide moves
backwards and forwards.

Funktion und Anwendung
Die Schlitteneinheit SLS-... ist ein ver-
drehgesicherter doppeltwirkender Zylin-
der mit Wälzkörperführung. Durch wech-
selseitige Belüftung bewegt sich der
Läufer der Schlitteneinheit hin und her.

Sliding unit SLS-... is designed for the
space-saving transport of masses where
a high degree of positioning accuracy is
required.
Conditions of use
These general conditions for the correct
and safe use of the product must be ob-
served at all times.
•Compare the specified limit values
with your actual application.
The permitted limit values, e.g. for
forces, moments, masses and
speeds must not be exceeded.
•Ensure that there is a supply of
correctly prepared compressed air.
Die Schlitteneinheit SLS-... wird bestim-
mungsgemäß zum platzsparenden Mas-
setransport mit hoher Positionierge-
nauigkeit eingesetzt.
Voraussetzungen für den
Produkteinsatz
Allgemeine, stets zu beachtende Hin-
weise für den ordnungsgemäßen und si-
cheren Einsatz des Produkts:
•Vergleichen Sie die angegebenen
Grenzwerte mit Ihrem aktuellen Ein-
satzfall.
Die zulässigen Grenzwerte, z. B. für
Kräfte, Momente, Massen , Ge-
schwindigkeiten dürfen nicht über-
schritten werden.
•Sorgen Sie für ordnungsgemäß auf-
bereitete Druckluft.

•Observe the prevailing ambient con-
ditions (e.g. temperatures, pres-
sures, ...).
If the SLS-... is fitted vertically,
•make sure the slide comes to a
stand in a stable position (e.g. the
lowest point) or that it is secured by
means of moveable bolts.
In this way you can avoid the mass
sliding down suddenly.
•Comply with national and local
safety laws and regulations.
•Remove all packaging such as pro-
tective wax, foils, cartons and caps
(except the sealing elements of the
pneumatic connections).
The individual materials can be dis-
posed of in recycling containers.
•Berücksichtigen Sie die vorherr-
schenden Umweltbedingungen (z.B.
Temperaturen, Drücke,...).
Bei senkrechtem Einbau :
•Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Läufer
bei Stillstand eine stabile Lage er-
reicht hat (z.B. den tiefsten Punkt
oder Sicherung durch bewegte Bol-
zen).
Dadurch verhindern Sie plötzlich
nach unten schlagende Massen.
•Beachten Sie die Vorschriften der
Berufsgenossenschaft, des Techni-
schen Überwachungsvereins oder
entsprechende nationale Bestimmun-
gen.
•Entfernen Sie alle Transportvorkeh-
rungen wie Schutzwachs, Folien, Kar-
tonagen und Kappen (mit Ausnahme
der Verschlusselemente in den pneu-
matischen Anschlüssen).
Die Entsorgung der einzelnen Werk-
stoffe in Recycling-Sammelbehälter
ist möglich.

•Once the energy medium has been
selected, you should retain this for
the entire service life of the product.
Example:
If non-lubricated compressed air is
selected, then always use non-lubri-
cated compressed air.
•Slowly pressurize the complete sys-
tem. In this way you will prevent sud-
den uncontrolled movements.
For slow start-up pressurization, use
safety start-up valve type HEL-... .
The slide moves into the end posi-
tion.
•Please observe the warnings and in-
structions
- on the product
- in these operating instructions.
•Use the product in its original form.
Unauthorized modification is not per-
mitted.
•Behalten Sie das einmal gewählte
Medium über die gesamte Produktle-
bensdauer bei.
Beispiel:
immer ungeölte Druckluft verwenden.
•Belüften Sie die Gesamtanlage stets
langsam. Dadurch vermeiden Sie Be-
wegungen unkontrollierter Art.
Zur langsamen Einschaltbelüftung
dient das Druckaufbau-Ventil HEL-
... .
Der Schlitten fährt in eine Endlage.
•Berücksichtigen Sie die Warnungen
und Hinweise
- am Produkt
- in dieser Bedienungsanleitung.
•Verwenden Sie das Produkt im Origi-
nalzustand ohne jegliche eigenmäch-
tige Veränderung.

Fitting
Mechanical
•Always handle the SLS-.... with care,
so that the slide guide is not
damaged.
Damage could impair the operation of
the roller bearing.
•Leave all screws and threaded pins
in their original state if no immediate
demand for modification is specified
in these instructions.
For safety reasons, the screws and
pins are fixed with locking adhesive.
•Make sure that there is sufficent
space for the pneumatic connections
and the operating elements.
•Make sure that the SLS-.. is not
distorted when fitted into place.
Einbau
mechanisch
•Behandeln Sie die SLS-.... so, dass
keine Schäden an der Schlittenfüh-
rung auftreten.
Diese führen zur Minderung der
Wälzlagerfunktion.
•Lassen Sie sämtliche Schrauben
und Gewindestifte unverändert, für
die es keine unmittelbare Aufforde-
rung zur Veränderung in dieser Anlei-
tung gibt.
Sie sind aus Sicherheitsgründen mit
Schraubensicherungsmittel fixiert.
•Achten Sie auf genügend Platz für
die pneumatischen Anschlüsse und
die Bedienteile.
•Achten Sie auf verzugsfreien Einbau.

•Plazieren Sie Ihre Nutzlast so auf
dem Läufer der SLS-..., dass das
Kippmoment aus der statischen Kraft
F und dem Hebelarm a klein bleibt.
Definition:
Bewegliche Masse = Nutzlast
+ Läufermasse + zusätzliche Massen
(z.B. Befestigungselemente der
Nutzlast etc.)

•Place your working load on the slide
of the SLS, so that the tilting
moment of the static force F and the
lever arm "a" remains small.
Definition:
moving mass = working load
+ slide mass + additional masses (e.g.
fitting elements of the working load, etc.).

Zur Abfrage der Läufer-Endlagen:
•Plazieren Sie die Näherungsschalter
in den Nuten .
pneumatisch
•Verwenden sie Drossel-Rückschlag-
Ventile vom Typ GRLA-... zum Ein-
stellen der Schlitten-Geschwindigkeit.
Diese werden direkt in die Druckluf-
tanschlüsse eingeschraubt.
•Entfernen Sie die Transportab-
deckungen an den Druckluftan-
schlüssen.
•Wählen Sie die geeigneten Druckluft-
anschlüsse.
Alternativanschlüsse «zu den ab
Werk vorgesehenen Druckluftan-
schlüssen ©und ªsind vorgefertigt.
Sie sind mit Blindstopfen verschlos-
sen.
In order to interrogate the end positions
of the slides,
•place the proximity switch in the
grooves .
Pneumatic
•Use one-way flow control valves of
type GRLA-... for setting the speed
of the slide.
These valves must be screwed
directly into the compressed air ports.
•Remove the transport protection
covers from the compressed air
ports.
•Select the appropriate ports.
The compressed air ports «as alter-
natives to ports ©and ªset at the
factory are closed with blind plugs.


•Verschlauchen Sie die
Druckluftanschlüsse.

Bei Einsatz von Näherungsschaltern:
•Achten Sie auf die Einhaltung des
Mindestabstands L zwischen stati-
schen oder bewegten ferritischen Ma-
ssen (siehe Bild 17).
Dadurch vermeiden Sie Fehlschaltun-
gen.
