Funktion und Anwendung
Durch wechselweise Belüftung der
Druckluftanschlüsse bewegt sich der In-
nenläufer im Rohr hin und her. Die Be-
wegung wird durch eine starre Verbin-
dung auf den äußeren Läufer übertra-
gen. Der dazu notwendige Schlitz im
Zylinderrohr wird durch ein Bandsystem
abgedichtet. Der DGPI(L)-... wird be-
stimmungsgemäß zum pneumatischen
Positionieren eingesetzt. Das integrierte
Wegmeßsystem ist vorgesehen zum An-
schluß an das Achsinterface für Tempo-
sonics SPC-AIF-MTS-X-....
Voraussetzungen für den
Produkteinsatz
Allgemeine, stets zu beachtende Hin-
weise für den ordnungsgemäßen und si-
cheren Einsatz des Produkts:
•Halten Sie die angegebenen Grenz-
werte ein (z.B. für Drücke, Kräfte,
Momente, Massen, Geschwindig-
keiten, Temperaturen).
•Sorgen Sie für ordungsgemäß auf-
bereitete, trockene, ungeölte Druck-
luft.
•Berücksichtigen Sie die vorherr-
schenden Umgebungsbedingungen.
Function and application
The internal slide moves backwards and
forwards in the barrel by means of air ap-
plied to each side alternately. The transfer
of movement to the outer slide is made
via a fixed coupling. The necessary slot in
the cylinder barrel is then sealed by a
band system.
The DGPI(L)-... has been designed for
pneumatic positioning. The integrated
measuring system is intended for connec-
tion to the axis interface for Temposonics
SPC-AIF-MTS-X....
Safety conditions
These general conditions for the correct
and safe use of the product must be ob-
served at all times.
•Please observe the specified limits
(e.g. for pressures, forces, torques,
masses, speeds, temperatures).
•Please ensure that there is a supply
of correctly prepared, dry, non-lubri-
cated compressed air.
•Please observe the prevailing am-
bient conditions.

•Beachten Sie die Vorschriften der Be-
rufsgenossenschaft, des Techn. Über-
wachungsvereins oder entsprechende
nationale Bestimmungen.
•Entfernen Sie alle Transportvorkehrun-
gen wie Schutzwachs, Folien, Kappen,
Kartonagen.
Die Entsorgung der einzelnen Werk-
stoffe in Recycling-Sammelbehälter ist
möglich.
•Behalten Sie trockene, ungeölte Druck-
luft über die gesamte Produktlebens-
dauer bei.
Nur trockene, ungeölte Druckluft erhält
die Lebensdauerschmierung des
DGPI(L)-...
•Belüften Sie Ihre gesamte Anlage lang-
sam. Dann treten keine unkontrollier-
ten Bewegungen auf.
•Bei servopneumatischem Positionieren:
Prüfen Sie für Ihren Einsatzfall die Ein-
haltung folgender Bedingung:
Arbeitshub = x % der Zylinderlänge L.
(für x siehe Bild 2)
Bei voller Dynamik sind als Druckluft-
polster mindestens 10% des Zylinder-
volumens in beiden Endlagen nötig.
•Please comply with national and local

protective wax, foils, caps.

•Maintain dry, non-lubricated compres-
sed air during the complete service life
of the product.
Only dry, non-lubricated compressed
air maintains the lubrication during the
complete service life of the DGPI(L)-...
•Slowly pressurize the complete
system. This will prevent sudden un-
controlled movements from occurring.
•With servopneumatic positioning,
check that the working stroke is
always x % of the cylinder length y.
(for x see Fig. 2)
During full dynamic performance, at
least 10% of the cylinder volume is
required for pressure cushioning in
both end positions.

•Verwenden Sie das Produkt im Origi-
nalzustand ohne jegliche eigenmächti-
ge Veränderung.
Transport und Lagerung
•Berücksichtigen Sie das Gewicht des
DGPI(L)-...:
Er wiegt bis zu 5 kg.
Einbau
mechanisch
•Behandeln Sie den DGPI(L)-... so,
daß keine Schäden am Bandsystem
auftreten.
Diese führen zur Minderung der
Betriebssicherheit.
•Achten Sie auf einen verzugsfreien
Einbau.
Bei großen Hublängen dient hierzu die
Mittenstütze Typ MUP-...
Die erforderlichen Stützabstände sind
in Bild 6 zusammengestellt.
•Unauthorized product modification is
not permissible.
Transport and storage
•Take into account the weight of the
DGPI(L)-...:
It weighs up to 5 kg.
Fitting
Mechanical
•Take care when handling the
DGPI(L)-... to prevent any damage to
the band system.
Damage could impair reliable operation.
•Ensure that the cylinder is fitted free
of distortion.
With long stroke lengths the centre
support type MUP-... should be used.
The required support distances are
shown in Fig. 6.

•Plazieren Sie die Mittenstützen am
DGPI(L)-... nach Bild 7 so, daß diese
nicht in den Verfahrbereich der beweg-
lichen Masse ragen.
Die beim DGPI(L)-32-... bis DGPI(L)-
80-... erforderlichen Nutensteine kön-
nen durch Verkippen an jeder Stelle
der Nut eingeklinkt werden.
•Plazieren Sie den Linearantrieb so,
daß Sie stets die Bedienteile erreichen
können.
•Place the centre supports on the
DGPI(L)-... as shown in Fig. 7, so that
they do not project into the positioning
path of the movable mass.
The sliding blocks necessary with
DGPI(L)-32-... to DGPI(L)-80-... can
be clipped into the groove at any
position by tipping.
•Place the linear drive in such a way
as to ensure that the operating parts
are always accessible.

•Drehen Sie die Befestigungsschrau-
ben gleichmäßig fest.
Bei einer zusätzlichen Führung der
Nutzlast muß beim DGPI-... der not-
wendige Freiheitsgrad zwischen Läu-
fer und Masse eingehalten werden.
•Plazieren Sie Ihre Nutzlast so auf
dem Läufer, daß das Kippmoment
aus der Kraftkomponente F parallel
zur Zylinderachse und dem Abstand
a klein bleibt.
Bewegliche Masse
= Nutzlast + Läufermasse
Bei DGPIL-Zylindern:
•Verwenden Sie Nutensteine vom Typ
NSTL-... zum Anschrauben der Nutz-
last.
Maße der Nutsteine siehe Bild 9.
•Lassen Sie die blauen Kunststoffkap-
pen an den Abschlußdeckeln aufge-
steckt.
Diese schützen die Spannvorrichtung
des Bandsystems vor Verschmutzung.
•Tighten the fastening screws with the
same torque.
If the work load is additionally guided,
the necessary tolerance between the
slide and the load must be maintained.
•Place the work load on the slide so
that the torque from the force compo-
nents "F" remains parallel to the
cylinder axis and so that distance "a"
remains small.

With DGPIL cylinders:
•Use sliding blocks of type NSTL-... for
fastening the work load.
Dimensions of sliding blocks see
Fig. 9.
•Leave the blue plastic caps on the
end covers.
These protect the clamping device of
the band system against dirt.

pneumatisch
•Prüfen Sie die Notwendigkeit einer
pneumatischen Not-Aus-Schaltung.
•Verwenden Sie ein Proportional-
Wegeventil vom Typ MPYE-... zur
Ansteuerung des DGPI(L)-....
Verschlauchung ohne pneumatische
Not-Aus-Schaltung siehe Bild 10.
Das MPYE-... dient zur Geschwindig-
keitssteuerung und zum Positionieren
von Zylindern.
•Prüfen Sie die Notwendigkeit von
gesteuerten Rückschlagventilen
Typ HGL-... (mit hohem Durchfluß)
Bei Druckabfall in senkrechter oder
schräger Einbaulage vermeiden Sie
damit ein plötzliches Abgleiten der be-
weglichen Masse.
•Wählen Sie die geeigneten Druckluft-
anschlüsse.
Die Druckluftanschlüsse neben dem
Meßsystemanschluß sind ab Werk
hierfür vorgesehenen. Die Alternativ-
anschlüsse sind mit Blindstopfen ver-
schlossen.
Pneumatic
•Check whether a pneumatic emergency
stop circuit is necessary.
•Use a proportional directional control
valve of type MPYE-... for controlling
the DGPI(L)-.... For connecting the
tubing without the emergency stop
circuit see Fig. 10.
The MPYE-... is used for controlling
the speed of cylinders and for
positioning them.
•Check whether open loop controlled
non-return valves Type HGL-... are
required (with a high flow rate).
Use these valves to prevent the
movable mass from sliding down
suddenly if there is a drop in pressure
when the cylinder is fitted in a vertical
or diagonal position.
•Select suitable compressed air
connections.
The compressed air connections next
to those for the measuring system are
intended for this purpose. The alterna-
tive connections are sealed with blind
plugs.

Beim DGPI(L)-... kann eine der beiden
Zylinderkammern nur über die interne
Luftzuführung belüftet werden.
Beim servopneumatischen Positionieren
ermöglicht die interne Luftzuführung des
DGPI(L)-... gutes Positionierverhalten,
auch bei Zylinderlängen ≥600 mm.
elektrisch
•Drehen Sie die mitgelieferte Schraube
mit Schneidgewinde in die Bohrung für
den Erdungsanschluß 0 ein.
Dadurch ist trotz Eloxalschicht der
elektrische Kontakt gewährleistet.
•Verkabeln Sie den Erdungsanschluß
0 mit Erdpotential.
- Kabelquerschnitt mind. 1,5 mm2
- Kabellänge max. 10 m.
•Verkabeln Sie den Meßsysteman-
schluß mit dem Achsinterface
SPC-AIF-MTS-X.
Hierzu ist nur das Originalkabel zu ver-
wenden. PIN-Belegung siehe Bild 11.
•Beachten Sie, daß sich der im Kolben
eingebaute Permanentmagnet nur
zum Betrieb des integrierten Meßsy-
stems eignet. Der Einsatz von magne-
tisch betätigten Näherungsschaltern
wird nicht unterstützt.
On the DGPI(L)-..., one of the two cylin-
der chambers can only be pressurized
via the internal air supply.
During servopneumatic positioning, the
internal air supply of the DGPI(L)-... per-
mits accurate positioning, even with cy-
linders longer than 600 mm.
Electric
•Insert the screw with cutting thread
supplied into the hole for the earthing
connection 0 and tighten.
The electrical contact is thereby guar-
anteed despite the anodized layer.
•Connect the earthing cable
0 to earth
potential.
- cable cross section area > 1.5 mm2
- cable length max. 10 m.
•Connect the measuring system cable
to the axis interface SPC-AIF-MTS-X.
Only the original cable may be used
here. For pin assignment see Fig. 11.
•Please note that the permanent mag-
net fitted in the piston is only suitable
for operating the integrated measuring
system. It is not possible to use
magnetically actuated proximity
switches.

Inbetriebnahme
Gesamtanlage
•Belüften Sie Ihre gesamte Anlage
langsam.
Zur langsamen Einschaltbelüftung
dient das Sicherheits-Einschaltventil
Typ MFHE-... oder VLHE-...
Einzelgerät
1. Stellen Sie sicher, daß im Verfahr-
bereich des DGPI(L)-...
– niemand in die Laufrichtung der
beweglichen Masse greift (z.B.
durch Schutzgitter)
– sich keine Fremdgegenstände
befinden.
2. Drehen Sie die Stellschrauben für die
Endlagendämpfung 4 ganz zu.
3. Belüften Sie den DGPI(L)-... folgender-
maßen:
– Gleichzeitige Belüftung beider Seiten.
Der Läufer kriecht zunächst gering-
fügig vorwärts bis er in einer Stellung
stehen bleibt.
– Anschließende Entlüftung einer Seite.
Der Läufer fährt in eine Endlage.
Commissioning
Complete system
•Slowly pressurize the complete system.
The safety start-up valve type MFHE-...
or VLHE-... should be used for gradual
pressurization when starting.
Individual cylinder
1. Make sure that:
– all operating personnel are clear of
the positioning range of the DGPI(L)
(e.g. by means of a protective
screen)
– there are no objects in the path of the
movable mass.
2. Screw in completely the adjusting
screws 4 for the end position cushioning.
3. Pressurize the DGPI(L)-... as follows:
– First pressurize both sides
simultaneously. The slide will creep
forwards at first until it comes to rest
at a position.
– Then pressurize one side.
The slide will move to an end position.
