2 Function and application
The electric cylinder with guide unit EPCO-...-KF is intended for positioning payloads.

3 Transport and storage
 Consider the weight of the electric cylinder with guide unit.
Depending on the version, the EPCO-KF weighs up to 8 kg.
4 Installation
4.1 Mechanical installation
Mount cylinder
 Do not modify the screws and threaded pins if not directly requested to do so in these operating
instructions.
 Make sure that the device is installed free of mechanical stress and deflection (evenness of the
bearing surface: ≤ 0.2 mm).
 Position the EPCO-KF so that all of the operating elements are accessible.
 Mount the EPCO using the mounting accessories.
 Tighten the mounting screws evenly.

Installation of the payload
Note
If pins strike against the yoke plate, the mechanical connection can be destroyed
 Push a metal plate between the yoke plate and the housing as a counterholder.
 Then press the required pins into the yoke plate.
 Place the centre of gravity of the payload as close as pos
sible to the centre of the yoke plate.
 Attach the payload to the yoke plate in the retracted end
position.
The piston/guide rods bend, depending on the payload
(èAppendix, Characteristic curves).
