INTRODUCTION
This software allows you to control the following parameters of the SCD-600 conference system:
- Volume and music control.
- Individual microphone control.
- Equalizer.
- Control of discussion and voting mode.
- PTZ Camera control.
1.- CONNECTION OF EQUIPMENT TO THE NETWORK
-To use the PC SYSTEM EDITOR software, it is recommended to use a data network managed by a router.
This will connect the SCD-600 and PC to the same data network via the router. No internet access is
necessary.
-The appliance comes configured with a default IP address that can be changed in the appliance’s own
configuration or by the router via DHCP (enable this feature on your router).
The default setup is:
IP address: 192.168.2.1
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
-Communications between SCD-600 and the PC are done via Multicast so you need to enable this feature
on your router.

-Use a straight network cable to connect the PC to the router and the SCD-600 to the router (T-568B

-Check the configuration of the control panel’s network card by entering its IP address in your PC’s web
browser and using the following credentials:

2.- SOFTWARE
Download the free SCD-600 PC application, go to our website fonestar.com/SCD-600 under the SOFTWARE
section and download “SCD-600_Software.zip”. This application does not require prior installation, you only
need to open the program to use it.
Also available is the Android app that will work the same way. The file to download in this case would be
“SCD-600_App.zip”.
-Once they are connected on the same network, open the program. To do this, go to the downloaded files
and click on the file “SCD-600 System Editor 1.2.6.”
- Select the network interface used and click OK.
NOTE: if you are having trouble connecting make sure that you only have 1 active network connection on
your PC.

Before you begin, you can easily change the language of the software using the pop-up that appears in the
upper right corner of the screen. In this drop down box you can select between English and Spanish.

-If the connection between the two devices is successful, the program will display the following window
with the status indicator in green (in the upper left margin). In this window, in the left-hand column, all
automatically detected units (central unit and chairman and delegate microphones) are displayed. Check
that these detected units correspond to the ones connected, if not, check all connections and cables
used.

-If a connection cannot be made, the software will display the following message “No devices available”
and the status indicator will appear in grey. Check that both devices are physically on the same network,
that the cables are not damaged and are working properly, and finally, check the configuration of your
network cards (IP, network marker and gateway). Once all of this has been verified, click on the CONNECT
button to try again.

Possible error messages and solution:
- “Recall current scene failure. The device is not ready. Please check”
This message occurs because the Ethernet network card is not communicating with the MCU
correctly. Review the network card settings carefully and verify that the baudrate is 57600.
- “Detected multiple network cards or invalid”
This failure is usually caused by the network interface selected being incorrect. Make sure that the
OC has only one active network connection and reconnect.

3.- SOFWARE FEATURES
At the top of the screen we will find the main menu which clearly divides the functions:
- DEVICE: general system, microphone and player/recorder settings.
- CAMERA: camera system configuration (optional).
- VOTING: configuration, conduct and results of voting.
3.1 CONTROL AND CONFIGURATION OF THE SCD-600 CENTRAL UNIT
First we need to configure the SCD-600 conference central unit, we will go to the DEVICE option at the top
of the screen. Go to the column on the left that shows the connected devices and click on the SCD-600 unit
(this also shows the IP address of that drive). All the settings we can make on the SCD-600 will appear on
your right.
Below we describe each of these adjustments in the normal order in which they would be performed:
3.1.1 EQUALIZER
The software allows the output audio signal of the control panel to be equalized. To do this, click on the
EQUALIZER button in the DISPLAY section in the centre column. This software allows you to combine
different equalizer modes:
1.- Graphically, with the graph on the top.
2.- Manually: by boosting or attenuating specific frequencies using the following parameters: filter centre
frequency, equalisation band quality factor (Q Factor), equalisation band level gain, filter type for the
equalisation band, disable an equalisation band (SKIP button), reset the curve (FLAT button), disable all
equalisation bands (SKIP ALL button).
3.- Generic filters: high pass and low pass. Allows you to select the centre frequency and filter type for
each band.
NOTE: it is possible to save the configuration to a file for later loading with the buttons SAVE and LOAD
respectively.

3.1.2 USERS
The software allows you to mute/unmute and rename each microphone. To do this, click on the USERS
button in the DISPLAY section in the center column and all connected microphones will appear on the right
panel. The president microphone will appear in orange and the delegates’ microphones in white.

- MUTE/UNMUTE: click on each one to change its status.
- RENAME: double-click the microphone.

3.1.3 DISCUSSION MODE
To display the configuration of the behaviour of the microphones in discussion mode, click on the arrow in
the DISCUSSION MODE section. This menu allows you to configure the following items:

-Set the maximum number of microphones that can be simultaneously active (1, 3,
6, 9 or all). Click on the option you wish to select.
-Allows you to configure the microphone settings when the maximum number of
users is reached.
-FIFO (first in, first out): when the maximum number of active microphones has
been reached, if another microphone requests to speak, the microphone that
has been active the longest will be deactivated.
-LIMIT: when the maximum number of active microphones has been reached,
this mode prevents other microphones from being activated until one of the
active microphones is deactivated.
-Activates/deactivates the priority that the chairman microphone has over delegate
microphones. If deactivated, the chairman microphone will be treated by the
system as another delegate microphone.
-Blocking the microphones of all delegates. The SCD-620D delegate microphones will be disabled and will
not be able to cast any votes. To restore the microphones to operation, press the button a second time.
This action has no effect on the status of the chairman microphone.
- DISABLE DISABLE ALL: disables all delegate microphones.
- DISABLE: disables a microphone individually by clicking on the desired microphone.

3.1.4 VOLUME CONTROL

Allows you to change the volume of the system’s audio outputs:
-LOUDSPEAKERS: control of the master volume of the SCD-600 outputs.
-MONITORS: volume control of the speakers in the base of the microphones.
3.1.5 MUSIC CONTROL

The software allows you to control playback or recording of the USB device
connected to the front panel.
-PLAY: play , pause , stop , previous track , next track , and play mode .
-RECORDING ( ): the signals that will be recorded on the device are as follow: the
microphones, INPUT and MIC INPUT. Requires a maximum 1 TB USB storage
device. Records in MP3 format, 192 kbps at 48 KHz..
NOTE: after pressing the REC button, a disc check is performed which locks the
system for a few seconds and after which recording will begin.
3.2 MICROPHONE CONTROL AND CONFIGURATION
The software allows you to configure the delegate and chairman microphones. To do this, select a microphone
in the left-hand column and all the settings that can be made for the selected microphone will appear to the
right of it.
Each of these settings is described below:
3.2.1 COMPRESSOR AND EQUALIZER
Allows you to individually configure the compressor and equalizer of the microphones.
1.- The parameters to configure the compressor are:
-THRESHOLD: sets the threshold above which the compressor will apply the selected attenuation.
-RATIO: sets the attenuation that is applied to the signal when it exceeds the threshold.
-ATTACK: the period of time needed to apply compression to the signal when the threshold is
exceeded.
-RELEASE: the period of time needed to stop compressing the signal when the threshold is
exceeded.
-BOOST: increase in the signal level of the microphone.
-VOLUME: general volume of the microphone.
-PLAIN: resets the compressor parameters.
-OMIT: deactivates the compressor.
2.- The parameters to configure the equalizer are:
-FREQUENCY: centre frequency of the filter.
-Q FACTOR: quality factor of the equalization band. This changes the bandwidth of the equalization.

-GAIN: gain of the equalization band level.
-TYPE: type of filter for the equalization band.
-OMIT: disables the equalization band.
-PLAIN: resets the equalizer parameters.
3.- NOTE: it is possible to save the configuration to a file for later loading with the buttons SAVE and LOAD
respectively. This can be especially useful if we want to make the same settings for all microphones. We
will do this for one and save the 2 files for later upload to the other microphones.

3.3 CAMERA CONTROL
This conference system allows control of a PTZ camera connected to the mainframe via the RS485 port with
Ethernet cable.
SCD-600
There are 2 types of connection: direct support of the PELCO-D protocol directly (RS-485); and VISCA
protocol (requires an RS-485 to RS-232 converter).
Direct support of the PELCO-D protocol directly (RS-485).
- Requirements:
- Cameras with PELCO-D protocol and Baudrate setting at 9600bps.
- Connections: data cable, pins 1 and 2 are the ones that connect directly to the camera.

To set up the camera in the system to track speakers it will be necessary to set up the camera correctly and
adjust the position and image as follows:
1.- In the CAMERA tab, select the PELCO_D protocol from the drop-down menu.
2.- Select the microphone name from the PRESET drop-down at the bottom of the screen.
NOTE: the microphone name is displayed in the lower right corner of each microphone screen.
3.- Make the camera settings: position, focus, and zoom, so they point to this microphone.
4.- Save the setting by pressing SAVE.
5.- Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 to set the camera position for all microphones.
