SECUR TY AND THE ENV RONMENT
ELECTR CAL SECUR TY
Check that the current in the mains connection where the machine is to be installed corresponds to the
power supply of the machine.
To avoid damaging the equipment, electrical shocks, fire or physical injury when you connect or disconnect
the equipment from the power supply, pull the plug firmly out of the mains socket holding the plug, never the
cable.
Always do this with dry hands.
Keep the power supply cable far from sources of heat. Do not put heavy objects on top of it or change it.
Clean dust and dirt off the power supply cable regularly.
Do not open the machine; you could get an electric shock.
CAUT ON
While installing the machine, make sure it is switched off and unplugged.
Do not open the machine. Touching the internal parts is dangerous and you could receive an electric shock.
The machine must not be splashed or dripped on. Never place recipients with liquid inside on the machine.
Do not place anything inside the machine.
LOCAT ON
Place the equipment on a horizontal surface with enough space around it to allow ventilation.
Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources and excessive dust.
Do not place the machine near magnetic fields or static electricity.
Do not use surfaces which vibrate or receive impact.
Do not pile machines on top of one another.
VENT LAT ON
Never block or cover the ventilation slits on the machine.
Do not expose it to direct sunlight or place it near sources of heat.
PER ODS OF NACT V TY
When the machine is not going to be used for a long period of time, disconnect it from the mains.
f you are using an adapter, take into account that it will continue using electricity even if the machine is
switched off. f it is not going to be used for a long period of time, disconnect it from the mains.
THE ENV RONMENT
To save energy, switch the machine off when you are not going to use it for a long time. The machine could
contain substances that are harmful to the environment or human health. To minimize the effect of these
substances the machine must be correctly managed and recycled when you decide to dispose of it.
When you dispose of it remember: it cannot be thrown into a conventional rubbish bin.
f it contains or uses batteries, these must be disposed of separately.
The machine (without batteries) must be disposed of correctly. Put it in a container specially intended for the
collection of electronic and electrical appliances, at the dump or hand it over to the dealer when you purchase
similar equipment, so that the dealer can dispose of it correctly (at no added cost).

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE SYMBOLS ON THE MACHINE*
The symbol formed by the expression “Class 1 laser product” written in a rectangle
indicates that visible or invisible laser radiation could be produced. Avoid direct expose to
the laser.
The symbol formed by a ray of lightening inside a triangle shows that the machine has
connection terminals or a circuit with areas with a current which could cause an electric
shock, even in normal working conditions.
The symbol formed by an exclamation mark in a triangle shows that the instruction manual
must be referred to for information on how the machine works and its use.
The symbol formed by one square inside another square shows that the machine has
double electrical insulation.
The European Community symbol shows that the machine complies with the current
European Union legislation, as well as its transposition to local legislation.
The symbol of a rubbish bin crossed out and over a horizontal line shows that when the
product is disposed of it must be done properly, placing it in a special selective electronic
and electrical equipment container or through a dealer when purchasing a similar product,
at no additional cost. t also shows that the machine was put on the market after 13th
August 2005 (European Community Directive 2002/96/CE of Electrical and Electronic
recycling, and its Spanish equivalent R.D.208/2005).
n accordance with what is set out in the aforementioned decree, FONESTAR is registered
in the RAEE (Registro de Aparatos Eléctricos y Electrónicos) in a special section RE
(Registro de establecimientos ndustriales), with the entry number 001851.
The symbol RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) shows that the product has been
designed and manufactured restricting the use of certain dangerous materials (Directive
2002/95/CE on the restriction of certain dangerous substances in electrical and electronic
appliances, and its transferal to the Spanish regulations, R.D.208/2005).
* t is possible that some of these symbols do not appear on the machine.

INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION
1.- Prepare the control unit model SCF-500, the president microphones model. SCF-510P and the delegate
microphones model SCF-520D.
The control unit model SCF-500 is supplied with a 12 m interconnection cable with a male sub “D” 9
connector for connecting it to the control unit and a male D N-8 connector for connecting microphones.
The President microphones model SCF-510P and the Delegate microphones model SCF-520D are
supplied with an interconnection cable in “Y”, which has a female D N-8 connector for connecting the
control unit to the interconnection cable or the previous microphone and two male D N-8 connectors for
connecting to the microphone and extending the line to the next microphone.
2.- Connect the control unit interconnection cable to one of the interconnection
sockets (L NK1-3). A maximum of 25 microphones can be connected in
each socket.
Connect the other end of the interconnection cable to a “Y” interconnection
cable on a microphone. One of the branches on the “Y” cable has to be
connected to the microphone, while the other must be used to extend the
line to the next microphone.
3.- n this way up to 25 microphones can be connected to each interconnection
socket (L NK 1-3). n total 75 microphones can be connected to three
interconnection sockets.
The delegate and president microphones can be connected to each one of the interconnection sockets
(L NK 1-3) independently.
The President microphone can be connected anywhere. The system allows the connection of a maximum
of up to 10 President microphones.

4- Use low Z (8 Ω) speakers to be connected to the amplifier output and reproduce the conference audio.
5- To connect an audio splitter use the “AUX OUT” output.
6- With all the controls at their minimum, connect the control unit to the electrical power and switch the
system on. Remember, when you switch the system off, lower the volume to its minimum before switching
the control unit off.
7- When the system is switched on, the control unit will check that the microphones are working correctly.
During the test the microphone LED indicators will stay on if the microphone works correctly. f an error
is detected or a microphone is not connected properly, the LED indicator will flash after 5 seconds. f a
fault is detected you must switch the control unit off and check the microphone and the connection.
Wait 30 seconds while the system is being checked or press the activation button on a microphone to
stop the checking.
8- To speak into a microphone press the activation button. When you stop speaking deactivate the
microphone by pressing the activation button again. When a microphone is active the LED indicator will
light up.
9- The President microphone can deactivate the delegate microphones at any time by pressing the priority
button.

MIC CONTROL
This control lets you select the maximum number of delegate microphones active at the same time.
Using the selector you can switch between the number of delegate
microphones that can be active. f you do not select a quantity,
you will only be able to activate the president microphone and the
delegate microphones cannot be used.
OVERRIDE
This function defines how to activate the delegate microphones when they have
reached their maximum amount of active delegate microphones permitted.
f the OVERR DE function has been deactivated, another delegate microphone cannot
be activated until one is deactivated.
With the OVERR DE function activated, if a delegate microphone is activated, the
delegate microphone that was activated the first will automatically be deactivated. n
this way, if the number of delegate microphones allowed is two and two are already
active, then when another is activated the first one will automatically be deactivated.
This function does not affect president microphones.
TIME
This control lets you select how long a delegate microphone is going to be active before
the system deactivates it if a signal is not detected.
n position 0 this function is not active. Positions 30 and 45 select the time in seconds
before automatic deactivation, when no signal is detected in the microphone.
This function does not affect president microphones.
ID MICROPHONES
Delegate microphones have their own id number in the system. n the majority of cases
it is not neccessary to set the microphone id numbers. The conference system is delivered ready to use, with
an id number for each microphone.
The id number is shown on a sticker on the base of the microphone. f you have 2 microphones with the same
id number in the system, then you must change the number for one of them.
The id number can be set using a 7-way D P switch on the printed circuit board. This switch lets you give an
id number to each microphone (from 0 to 127). n order to select the id number you have to activate the
micro switches to set the number you want in binary code.
