IMPORTANT NOTES
•This kit is for use with 230/208 Volt GE Zoneline
units only.
•This unit must be properly grounded.
•The ele tri al rating marked on the installed Zoneline
and power supply kit must be the same as the supply
bran h ir uit.
•Aluminum building wiring may present spe ial
problems— onsult a qualified ele tri ian.
•All wiring, in luding installation of the re epta le,
must be in a ordan e with the NEC and lo al odes,
ordinan es and regulations.
•This power supply kit provides for onne tion of
1/2″trade size ele tri al onduit and provision for
onne tion to a wiring system in a ordan e with the
National Ele tri al Code. ANSI/NFPA No. 70-1996 or
latest edition.
•Use ONLY the wiring size re ommended for single
outlet bran h ir uit.
•Proper urrent prote tion is the responsibility of
the owner.

APPLICATIONS ONLY
IMPORTANT: Some lo al ele tri al odes and ustomer
requirements require PTAC/PTHP units to be dire t
onne ted to building wiring.
These models must be installed using the appropriate
GE power supply kit for the bran h ir uit amperage
and the ele tri al resistan e heater wattage desired.
See the POWER CONNECTION CHART to onfirm the
appropriate kit.
POWER CONNECTION CHART
It is the responsibility of the installer to ensure the
onne tion of omponents is done in a ordan e with
ele tri al odes.
Dire t onne tion to bran h ir uit wiring inside the
provided jun tion box must be made by onne ting
as follows.

Power Supply Kit for
Direct Connection
Before you begin – Read these instructions completely and carefully.
IMPORTANT – OBSERVE ALL GOVERNING CODES AND ORDINANCES.
Note to Installer – Be sure to leave these instructions with the Consumer.
Note to Consumer – Keep these instructions with your Owner’s Manual for future reference.

3. INSTALL JUNCTION BOX
•Install the jun tion box by engaging the left tabs on the
lower right fa e of the unit, aligning the s rew holes at
the top and bottom and driving the two s rews until
se ure. Be sure that all wire leads are inside the box and
not pin hed between the box and the unit. The green
insulated ground wire from the unit MUST be onne ted
to the bran h ir uit ground wire.
Make all wire onne tions by using appropriate UL-listed
ele tri al onne tors and te hniques (bla k to bla k,
white to white and green to green).
4. INSTALL JUNCTION BOX COVER
1. Carefully tu k all wires and onne tions ba k
inside the jun tion box. Be sure there are no loose
onne tions or stray uninsulated wires exposed.
2. Pla e the jun tion box over in pla e. Repla e the two
s rews removed earlier and tighten se urely.
3. Repla e the Zoneline front abinet.
2. ATTACH CONDUIT
1. Use the round kno kout at the bottom of the jun tion
box to atta h onduit oming from the bran h ir uit.
Remove the kno kout, atta h the onduit and bring
wires into the jun tion box. Leave 6″of wire free at the
end of the onduit to allow onne tions to be made.
2. If a fuse and fuseholder are to be used, the
kno kout at the top of the box is for mounting a Buss
Fuseholder. Be sure the fuse and fuseholder are of
the same rating as the bran h ir uit. Leadwires at the
fuse an be either soldered in pla e or atta hed using
UL-listed 1/4″female (re epta le) rimp onne tors.
Conduit
1. CONNECT THE CORDSET
Plug the onne tor, provided in the Dire t Conne t Kit, fully
into pla e in the unit mating onne tor. Be sure the lo king
tabs at the sides are engaged.

Order separately the RAK4002A Kit. This kit must be used in
this application.

this application.

4. MAKE WIRE LEAD CONNECTIONS
INSIDE THE JUNCTION BOX
1. Make all wire onne tions by using appropriate
UL-listed ele tri al onne tors and te hniques.
2. Conne t the white and bla k leads of the Zoneline
power supply kit to the bran h ir uit Neutral and L1
leads. (The white lead of the power supply kit should
be onne ted to neutral.) Conne t the green lead of
the power supply kit to the power supply and bran h
ir uit ground.
3. Be sure that all wire leads are inside the jun tion box
and not pin hed between the box and the unit. The
green insulated ground wire from the Zoneline MUST
be onne ted to the bran h ir uit ground wire.
4. Plug the 9-pin onne tor into the 9-pin re epta le in
the jun tion box.
5. Repla e the jun tion box over by repla ing the
2 s rews removed earlier.
6. Repla e the ase front panel by repla ing the 4 front
s rews and the 2 top s rews. Repla e the filter.
3. ATTACH CONDUIT
Use the round kno kout hole at the top of the jun tion box
to install onduit oming from the bran h ir uit. Install
and lamp the onduit through the onduit lamp and
bring wire leads into the jun tion box. Leave 8″of wire
free from the end of the onduit.
1. REMOVE THE FRONT PANEL
Remove the front ase panel by removing the filter, taking
out the 4 front s rews, the upper 2 s rews from the top of
the panel and the shipping s rews on ea h side, if present.
(Dis ard the 2 side shipping s rews, if present.)
