Seed and Fertilizer Rate Charts for
the 3PYPA 3-Point Yield-Pro®
Planter with Air-Pro®Seed Meters
The following pages are to assist in the proper setting of seeding
and fertilizer rates for the 40 Foot (12 m) three-section
stack-folding 3-Point Yield-Pro® Planter. To assure for the most
accurate seeding rates, Great Plains recommends checking
singulated rates and calibrating for fertilizer application rate at the
time of planting.

Introduction
This manual covers the following tasks for three-section
stack-folding 3-Point Yield-Pro®Planter equipped with
Air-Pro®Seed Meters:
•setting and checking seed rate for singulated crops,
•applying liquid fertilizer from an off-planter tank and
pump system.
This manual is your guide to planter adjustments for
achieving specific seed population targets. It also
includes information you may need to properly setup and
adjust a separately provisioned fertilizer tank and pump
system.
Although some setup/adjustment material is repeated
from the Operator’s Manual, you need to be thoroughly
familiar with planter operations and adjustments before
applying this Seed Rate manual and its table data.

Planting Overview
The information in this section covers important setup
and checking information that applies to the Air-Pro®
Meter in singulated planting, using hydraulic drive or
ground drive.
Singulated planting employs the seed monitor in:
•PLANTER CONTROL mode with optional hydraulic
drive, or
•MONITOR ONLY mode with ground drive.
Seed Rate Setting Summary
For your crop, determine your intended population,
in seeds/acre.
If you know only the seed spacing or population in
lbs/acre or kg/ha, consult the charts beginning on
this page.
For your crop, population and desired field speed,
select the correct seed disk:
see “Meter Disk Selection” on page 7.
Set meter rate.
Set initial seed inlet shutter per seed rate chart.
Set initial meter pressurization:
see “Meter Pressurization” on page 11.
For staggered twin row, time row pairs using:
see “Sprocket Indexing (Stagger)” on page 15
Verify your planting rate
see “Checking Planting Rate” on page 14.
Seeds per Unit
If only population weight (lbs/acre or kg/ha) is known,
obtain the population count by multiplying the population
weight by the kernels per pound (kilogram) from the
seed container.
