1. To install gooseneck ball; lift the handle and rotate it 90 degrees to unlock the gooseneck ball.
2. Install the gooseneck into the receiver portion of the truck.
3. Once installed; rotate & push down the handle to lock and secure the gooseneck ball. The gooseneck
ball should not lift out of the gooseneck receiver and should rotate freely in the gooseneck receiver.

1. Be sure the gooseneck ball is secure and functioning properly and freely rotates in the gooseneck
receiver.

7. Perform a tug test on the truck and trailer before towing:
- Connect and test power cables, attach emergency brake cable. With Trailer Landing Gear down, wheels chocked and the
trailer brakes SET ON slowly pull forward to check security of gooseneck. Recheck connections
- Remove the wheel chocks from the wheels of the 5th Wheel Trailer; Raise Trailer Landing Gear and double check that
the hitch is properly attached to your tow vehicle.

TOWING TIPS
Driving Tow Vehicle
Good habits for normal driving need extra emphasis when towing a trailer. The additional weight of the trailer affects
acceleration and braking. Extra time should be allowed for passing, stopping and changing lanes. Signal well in advance of a
maneuver to let other drivers know your intentions. Severe bumps and badly undulating roads can damage your towing
vehicle hitch and trailer and should be negotiated at a slow steady speed If any part of your towing system “bottoms out

you suspect damage may have occurred in any other way, pull over and make a thorough inspection. Correct any problems
before resuming travel.
Turning and backing up present new problems-plan ahead. It is highly recommended that a spotter be used when backing up
to alert the driver of possible obstacles and prevent jack knifing the trailer.
Towing a trailer will change your turning radius, the longer the trailer the larger radius turn.

any sudden maneuvers. Allow ample distance/time for stopping and changing lanes. If possible, wait for road conditions to
improve before driving.
Follow all state, local and provincial driving and towing laws in the location you are driving in.
Not following your tow vehicle, trailer, and Husky instructions/manuals can result in a fatal accident.
Check Your Equipment
Please refer to the MAINTENANCE section. Periodically check the condition of all your towing equipment and keep it in top
condition.
Tire Inflation
Unless specified otherwise by the towing vehicle or trailer manufacturer, tires should be inflated to their manufacturer’s towing
recommendations.
Towing Vehicle and Trailer Manufacturers Recommendations
Review the owner’s manual for your towing vehicle and trailer for specific recommendations, capacities and requirements.
Passengers in Trailers
Trailers should not be occupied while being towed. Most states enforce this regulation.
Trailer Lights, Turn Signals, Electric Brakes
Always hook up all of the trailer lights, electric brakes and break-away switch connection whenever trailer is being towed. Also
periodically check functionality of all lights before towing and repair any problems as needed.
Remove Hitch When Not Towing
Remove hitch from receiver on towing vehicle when not towing a trailer to reduce chances of striking hitch on driveway or other
objects, and reduce the chance of parts being stolen

At The Beginning of Every Towing Day:
Clean ball and coat ball lightly with grease.
If electric brakes are used ensure the emergency break away cable is attached to the tow vehicle.
Check to see that all electrical hook-ups are in working order and that the safety chains are securely connected.
Towing safely is the responsibility of the driver of the vehicle. Failure to tow safely can result in vehicle damage, bodily injury or
death.

Avant le remorquage
1. S’assurer que la boule col de cygne est solidement fixée, qu’elle fonctionne correctement et qu’elle
tourne librement dans le récepteur col de cygne.
2. Lubrifier la boule col de cygne avant l’utilisation.
3. S’assurer que le dégagement pour les virages est adéquat entre la cabine du camion et le coin de la
remorque.

7. Effectuer un essai de secousse sur le camion et la remorque avant le remorquage :
- Raccorder et mettre à l’essai les câbles d’alimentation, raccorder le câble de frein d’urgence. Avec les béquilles de la
remorque allongées, les roues calées et les freins de la remorque actionnés, avancer lentement pour vérifier la solidité du col
de cygne. Vérifier à nouveau les raccordements.
- Retirer les cales de roues de la caravane; relever les béquilles de la remorque et vérifier à nouveau l’attelage pour
s’assurer qu’il est correctement fixé au véhicule tracteur.

CONSEILS DE REMORQUAGE
Conduite d’un véhicule tracteur
Les bonnes habitudes lors de la conduite normale exigent encore plus d’attention durant le remorquage. Le poids additionnel
de la remorque affecte l’accélération et le freinage. Il faut prévoir du temps supplémentaire pour les dépassements, les arrêts et
les changements de voies. Actionnez les clignotants bien à l’avance d’une manœuvre pour indiquer aux autres conducteurs

soigneusement. Corrigez tout problème avant de reprendre la route. Il est fortement recommandé de travailler avec un guetteur
en reculant afin qu’il puisse aviser le conducteur des obstacles possibles et pour prévenir une mise en portefeuille de la
remorque. Virer et reculer présentent de nouveaux défis; planifiez d’avance. Le remorquage d’un véhicule changera les rayons
de virages; plus la remorque est longue, plus le rayon de virage sera grand.

Dans le cas de conditions routières où les routes sont mouillées, glacées, enneigées, parsemées de gravier, de gazon ou de
saleté, ralentissez et évitez de faire des manœuvres soudaines. Prévoyez suffisamment de distance ou de temps pour freiner
et changer de voies. Si possible, attendez que les conditions routières s’améliorent avant de prendre la route.
Respectez toutes les lois d’états, locales et provinciales en matière de conduite et de remorquage en vigueur dans la région.
Le non-respect des instructions ou des manuels du véhicule tracteur, de la remorque et de Husky peut causer un accident
mortel.

Consultez la section ENTRETIEN. Vérifiez périodiquement l’état de l’ensemble de l’équipement de remorquage et gardez-le en
bon état.
Gonflage des pneus
À moins qu’il en soit précisé autrement par le fabricant du véhicule tracteur ou de la remorque, les pneus doivent être gonflés
selon les recommandations de remorquage du fabricant.
Recommandations des fabricants du véhicule tracteur et de la remorque
Passez en revue le manuel de l’utilisateur du véhicule tracteur et de la remorque pour connaître les recommandations
spécifiques, les capacités et les exigences.
Passagers dans les remorques
Aucun passager ne devrait se trouver dans la remorque lors du remorquage. La plupart des états/provinces appliquent ce
règlement.
Feux de la remorque, clignotants et freins électriques
Raccordez toujours les feux de la remorque, les freins électriques et le commutateur de rupture lors d’un remorquage. Vérifiez
périodiquement la fonctionnalité de tous les feux avant le remorquage et réparez les problèmes au besoin.
Retrait de l’attelage après le remorquage
Retirez l’attelage du véhicule tracteur lorsqu’une caravane n’est pas remorquée pour réduire les risques de dommages
accidentels et le vol de pièces.
Entretien
Gardez la boule col de cygne lubrifiée lorsqu’elle est utilisée.
Retirez la boule col de cygne du récepteur et rangez-la dans un endroit propre et sec lorsqu’elle n’est pas utilisée.
Gardez la boule col de cygne propre et lubrifiée.
Au début de chaque journée de remorquage
Nettoyez la boule et appliquez une mince couche de graisse.
