START SCREENS
1 - Module Basic Information
As described in Basic Handling guide supplied with the SPI-300, on connec-
ting it to the module the identication data, settings and status of the module
are loaded onto the remote. The module detection screen appears for a short
time, and then the display shows the Basic Information screen, which con-
tains its most representative data:
The meanings of expressions and data presented are:
Module name.
F 02.18: Version of the module rmware (the rmware is software stored in
the module that is responsible for its basic operation).
CH 21: By default the output channel is 21.
SYSTEM OK (status correct); NO IMPUT (no input signal is detected; SYSTEM
NOK (status incorrect).
Pressing the OK command (key ) takes us to the Main Menu Screen (Basic
Handling Manual).
2 - Main Menus
As indicated in the Basic Handling Manual, the General menu and Langua-
ge are identical for all ClassA modules and their commands are described in
it. Setting andInfoMenus include, however, options or information, unique to
each module type.

Main Screen GENERAL
The General menu is identical for all ClassA modules and the commands are
the following:
• Detect: Runs the detection process of the connected module.
• Send: Establishes on the module the parameter values that have been mo-
died.
• Update: This option does not apply to this model. The rmware update is
performed only through the web interface (see manual www.ikusi.tv).
• Recall: Returns the conguration of the module previously created with the
Save command. This menu is useful to quickly load repetitive data in multi-
ple modules.

Main Screen SETTINGS
The Settings menu contains all the setting parameters of the connected
module. Grouped by sections or categories that are arranged in one or more
screens:
• Input: Select one of the input types available on the module.
• Output: This menu quickly accesses the output channel (default channel 21)
and attenuation in COFDM mode.
• Country: Must be selected to have the specic congurations operating in
each country such as the ONID or LCN mode.

Main Screen INFO
The Info menu provides access to detailed information about the connected
module, regardless of whether it has been programmed or not.
• Status: Informs about the operating conditions of the module.
CH1 VID: Reports the existence or not of a valid video signal.
CH1 AUD: Reports the existence or not of a valid audio signal.
Player: Reports the operation of the USB channel.
% Free: The middle number expresses the percentage of null PIDs (no information) that are currently in the output
stream; the higher the number, the less risk there is of overflow (in other words, less risk of data loss). The numbers
on the left and the right are respectively the minimum and maximum values that have been reached over the period
of operation of the module, since the last power connection.
Bitrate: Reports the data encoding speed on output.
IP Bitrate: Reports the data encoding speed on output.

Aspect: Enables the image format to be selected, 16:9 or 4:3.
odec: Enables the encoding standard of the digitized audio and video signal to be selected from the options:
MPEG2 and MPEG4 (if the input signal is SD, the default will encoding will be MPEG2, if the signal is HD, encoding is
H.264 (1080p resolution only supports MPEG4).
Bitrate Video: (4-10 Mbits / s): The device can be configured for an input data encoding rate from 4 to 10 Mbits/s.
When selecting the encoding bitrate, the COFDM output bitrate must be taken into account, this should be sufficient to
support the encoding bitrate, in the opposite case the overflow alarm appears.
Bitrate Audio: The device can be configured for an input data encoding rate of 96; 128; 160; 192; 224; 256; 320
and 384 Kbits/s.
Low latency: Reduces encoding time for applications where response time is important (e.g. cameras). Selecting
the low-latency mode, has on the other hand decreased coding efficiency and image quality with a lot of movement.
Output: The MHD-201 modulator has two output types CODFM and IP. Using
the SPI-300 control only the rst option can be congured, to select the IP mode
output use the web interface (see manual www.ikusi.tv).
• COFDM output: Select this option to specify the RF and Network Congu-
ration data.

ters.

Channel: Enables the output channel to be selected and modified.
Frequency: Reports on the output frequency of the current radio frequency carrier and enables its value to be
modified. The frequency value must lie within the valid range for VHF and UHF bands.
Attenuation: Allows attenuation for the RF carrier signal to the output to be configured, varying this value in the
range of 0 dB to 25 dB.
COFDM mode: Allows the OFDM mode to be configured, selecting 2K and 8K values.
Bandwidth: Allows the bandwidth to be configured selecting the values 6, 7 or 8 MHz
Guard interval: allows the guard interval to be configured by selecting 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 or 1/32 symbol.
Constellation: enables the output modulation constellation to be configured by selecting from the options 16QAM
or 64QAM.

congured:
Network Name: Assigns a name to the network.
Provider: Enables the name of the service provider to be specified.
NID: Enables a value to be assigned to the network identifier.
TSID: Enables a value to be assigned to the identifier of the transport stream or TS.
NOTE.
For a headend configuration with 2 or more devices, the TSID value must be different for each device.
ONID: enables a value to be assigned to the original network identifier.

• Service: Depending on whether the Input conguration is in HD or SD
mode we can have one or two services respectively.
Video: Enables the video signal of a service to be activated.
Audio: Enables the audio signal of a service to be activated.
LCN: Displays the logical channel number.
SID: Enables the ID that is assigned to a service to be assigned, modified and identified. The SID value is important
for the detection of channels in some receivers. All SID values must be different for the group of services processed
by one or more devices that contribute to a common RF output.
Name: Enables an identifying name to be assigned to each service.
3 - USB Player : The modulator allows video to be played through the USB port.
By means of an application, the user can customise a list of images and videos to
create a nal le ("video-nal.ts") capable of being reproduced as a proper chan-
nel.
• Status: Reports whether the channel is in USB playback mode or not.
STOPPED: Playback paused.
PLAYING: Playing on.
USB ERROR: USB not detected.
ERROR FILE: The final file is not correct.
