Essentially theWorkman 420 II isfullyassembled and readytooperate when itleaves the
assembly
facility
hereatImerU.S.A. However, therearea
coupleitemswhich should
always becheckedbefore
towingtheWorkman420II.
1. Makesureeachtireisinflatedto50 PSI(cold), and check theoillevel oftheHonda motor.
2. Make certain theretractable stabilitylegs areraised upfully
andlocked in place
withtheanchor
pinprovided.
3. Make certainthatthetowbar isproperlyanchored anditstowchainisin place. Itisalso important
toloop
thetowchain aroundthetowbarseveral timesbefore connecting ittoavehicle.
4. Make sure theengine canopydooris latchedshut.
5. Make certain thatthehitchsystem
onyour
caror truckiscompatible tothetowbartongue.
6. Finally,locallawsand ordinancesvary
fromstate tostate
regardingtheregistrationoftowable
constructionequipment, checkandseeifalicenseplate isrequired.Callyour local Departmentof
Motor Vehicles forthe proper procedure tofollow.

OPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS
1. Beforestartingthe
enginereadthe Hondamanualprovidedand becomefamiliarwiththeGX160
powerplant. Especially important istochecktheoil level dailyand change itmonthly.Additionally,
cleaningtheair filter
weekly
ensures
consistentlygood performance.
2. OperatethetheWorkman 420IIonalevel surface. Foradditional stabilitythe
telescopic footstands
canbeloweredandlocked intoplace.
3. To putthedrumin theloadingposition rotatethedumpwheel until thedesired drumpositionis
achieved.
4. Starttheengineandsetthethrottleat3/4tofullon.
5. Nowadd1/2ofthewaterwhich willberequired andthenbegin toaddthecementand
aggregates.
Additionalwatercanbeaddedasthecementandaggregates
mixtogether.

dump wheeluntill thedesireddrumposition

MAINTENANCE
Lubrication
1. Alltheother
components
onthemixerwhich engageormovebackandforthshouldbelubricatedwitha
light aerosoltypelubricant ona
weekly
basis.WD-40works wellforthisapplication.
2. Essentially
the
gearboxissealedforlife.Thequalityofthe
gearsandthelubricantaresuchthat
changing
theoil isnotnecessary.If
youwanttochange theoil,see your
dealerorcall IMER U.S.Adirectly
for
instruction.
3.Oneayear
removethecast
cap
fromthe
top
halfofthe
dumpgearassembly
and
grease
itupgood.

Belt Tension
1.Themixerhasthreebelts: twoin the
canopy
and theotherin thearm.Thebeltsareproperlyadjusted
beforeleaving our
factory, however,itisa
good ideatochecktheirtensionbefore operatingthemixer.
Then,
whenonebeltbecomes loose,tighten itbacktothisoriginalcondition.

Thebeltswillstretchthemostduringthefirstfew
hoursof
operation checkthemfrequently, and
alwayskillthemotoranddisconnectthe
spark
plug
wirebeforetouchingthebelts. Or,if
yourmachinehas
anelectricmotor, unplug
itfromthe
powersource
beforeadjustingthebelts.
2.Totightenthebeltsinsidethecanopy
loosentheboltswhichanchorthe motormountplate
tothemixerframe.This allowsthemotormountplate
toslidedownthe
frame,whichin turn
tightensthe belt.Thebeltshould have 1/4" to 3/8"of play. Nowre-tighten
theboltswhich
anchorthemotormount
plate.
3.To tightenthe beltinsidethe armloosenthe
4 nutswhichanchorthegearboxonthe arm.
Tighten
thebelt byturning
the
adjustment
bolt.Thebelt shouldhave 1/4" to3/8"ofplay,do
notover
tighten asthisshortenstheirdrivelife.Nowre-tighten
the
gearbox
anchorbolts.

Itisveryimportantto keeptheenginepulley
andthe
drivepulleyinline withone another.Failure to
maintain thisalignment willcause thebeltto twistand
then break.
IAMISC.
Everymonth checkallthe mixer'smountinghardware to
ensure allthenutsandboltsareproperlytightened.
Wheel Bearings
1. Thewheel bearings
shouldbecleanedandrepackedevery
6monthsto1 year. Theinterval
being
dependantupon theamount oftime themachineis towed,and underwhatconditions. This
maintenance
procedure
isthesameasthatforautomotivewheelbearings.
Engine
ReadtheHondamanual carefully ...and followtheirinstructions.
Changingtheoilandcleaningtheairfilter
frequentlyensure areliableand
longlasting motor.
Whenyoumay
needHondaEngineServiceor
WarrantyAssistance, takethemachinetoyour
localHonda
powerequipmentdealer,they
willhonorthe
warrantythroughoutAmerica.
IANOTE
Itisalways a good
idea to checkthe oillevelin the
enginecrankcaseatthestartofeachworkingday.
Clean oilatthecorrectlevelmakesforaenginethat
willlastandlast.
Mixer'sdrumdisassemblyand
re-assembly
Incaseit'snecessarytoremovethedrum, toreset itit'snecessary.

cone, makingsurethatshaftshearpinisinsideitsseatinthedrumcone.
