Bochum, Germany. EC type examined (Directive 89/686/EEC) by DEKRA EXAM GmbH,
Dinnendahlstr. 9; 44809 Bochum, Germany.
The apparatus has been exempted from the requirements of EN137 regarding mask
pressure when the reserve air valve is activated.
This user manual applies to apparatuses consisting of the INCURVE Harness together
with the Plug-in type regulator unit with reserve air valve.
1 Safety notice
This product may only be used together with other approved Interspiro products The
product must only be used by personnel in good health and trained in the use of
respiratory protective equipment. Individuals with beards or large sideburns may not
obtain an adequate seal. The apparatus must be maintained, serviced and tested
as described in this user manual, Interspiro service manuals and Interspiro test
instructions.

The breathing air with which the cylinders are charged must meet the requirements
according to EN 12021, being free from oil, toxic substances and having low humidity.
The duration of a compressed air breathing apparatus depends on the volume of air
in the compressed air cylinder(s) and the air consumption, which is specic to the
wearer and aected by the work load. When taking air from the extra air connection,
which some models are equipped with, the air consumption increases and the
duration of the apparatus decreases.
When operating with two separate independently valved cylinders both cylinders
must be charged with similar working pressures. Always open both cylinder valves
when pressurizing the breathing apparatus and ensure that both cylinder valves are
kept open during the use of the apparatus.
If the self contained breathing apparatus is to be used in conjunction with other
personal protective equipment it is important to ensure that the additional personal
protective equipment is compatible with the breathing apparatus and does not impair
the full protection of the respiratory protective device.
Examples of dangers which may require the use of additional personal protective
equipment:

-Liquids, steam or gases which can damage the skin.
-Pollutants absorptive by skin
-Thermal radiation
-Mechanical eects
-Explosive environments
-Oxygen-enriched breathing air.

2 Reserve air valve
A warning is given when the cylinder pressure has fallen to 55 +/-5 bar. The warning
takes the form of a cut-o of the air supply on each inhalation. This results in gradually
shorter inhalation phases until the air supply is completely cut o. When the user rst
notices the warning, the reserve air valve can be operated by throwing the lever (retreat
position). This locks the valve in the open position, restoring full capacity. The number
of inhalations during the warning phase depends on the air consumption at the time.
The lever cannot be locked in the retreat position when the pressure in the cylinder is
above 80 bar.

3 Rescue hose
As an option, the apparatus can be tted with a rescue hose to allow the user to give
and receive air in emergency situations. The hose has a male and a female coupling
which t into each other.
Note: For an apparatus to be able to receive air, the reserve air lever on the receiving
apparatus must be in the retreat position. If the lever is in the raised position, no
air will reach the mask. The diver who is giving air to another apparatus through
connected rescue hoses must make sure that the reserve air lever of the receiving
apparatus is in the retreat position. See the photos above.
1. If the cylinder pressure at the receiving apparatus is above 80 bar, the reserve air
lever goes to the retreat position when the warning is activated.
2.If the rescue hose is connected to the quick coupling on the control unit, air can
always be received regardless of the position of the reserve air lever.
The rescue hose is installed as shown on the
photo on the right. To use the rescue hose,
grasp the Y-coupling and pull the hose away
from its attachment.

4 Assembly
Fitting the cylinder pack to the harness assembly
1. Check that the cylinder valve is closed.
2. Lay down the cylinder pack with the cylinder valve knob pointing down.
3. Remove the blanking plug with a 23 mm wrench.
4. Centre the mounting bar of the harness assembly over the cylinder pack.
5. Line up the holes in the mounting bar with the studs on the cylinder pack and
push the backplate away from the carry handle until the harness assembly snap-
ts on to the cylinder pack. Check that the cylinder pack is securely xed to the
harness assembly by carefully liing the top and bottom ends of the harness
assembly.
6. Screw the cylinder connection of the regulator into the cylinder valve.

Removing the cylinder pack from the harness assembly
1. Press down the latch at the top of the mounting bar and at the same time push
the harness assembly toward the carry handle.
2. Li o the harness assembly.
Quick coupling - optional
Connect by aligning the cylinder valve adapter is in line with the cylinder connection
manifold. Press together until the manifold “clicks” into the cylinder valve. Check that
the red O-ring is not visible.
Disconnect by pressing the ring of the quick coupling away from the cylinder valve and
removing the manifold.
Existing cylinder packs can be adjusted by screwing a quick coupling adapter into the
cylinder valve. Tighten to 20 Nm with a 5mm Allen key.
5 Checking the reserve air valve
1. Shut o the safety pressure (described in the user manual for the mask).
2. Fully open the cylinder valve.
- Check that the reserve air lever automatically returns to the normal position
above 80 bar
3. Close the cylinder valve.
4. Open the safety pressure.
5. Press down the reserve air lever to the retreat position when the pressure has
passed approx. 40 bar.
- Check that a brief burst of air is heard.

6 Donning
1. Slacken the shoulder straps, undo the waist belt and don the apparatus.
2. Pull the neck belt over your head.
3. Fasten the waist belt buckle and pull it tight. Make sure that the major part of the
weight is carried by the waist belt, not by the shoulder straps.
4. Adjust the shoulder straps and tuck away any loose straps.
5. Open the cylinder valve fully.
WARNING: Make sure to open the cylinder valve fully to eliminate the risk for disruption
of the air supply when the cylinder pressure drops.
6. Don the mask as described in the user manual for the mask.
7. For version with fresh air hatch: activate the safety pressure. For version with
automatic activation: the safety pressure is activated automatically when you
inhale sharply.
7 Checking before use
1. Hold your breath and check that you cannot hear any air flowing.
2. Insert two ngers between the sealing edge and your face. A strong air flow
should be heard.
3. Shut o the safety pressure and note the pressure gauge reading. Close the
cylinder valve.
Note:The valve knob must be pressed in before it can be closed. This is to prevent it
being closed accidentally.
4. Check that the pressure does not fall by more than 10 bar in one minute.
5. Fully open the cylinder valve.
8 Taking off the apparatus
1. Shut o the safety pressure and take o the mask.
2. Close the cylinder valve.
Note: The valve knob must be pressed in before it can be closed. This is to prevent it
being closed accidentally.
3. Open the waist buckle and slacken the shoulder straps.
4. Take o the apparatus and activate the safety pressure to vent the system.
5. Press down the reserve air lever to the retreat position.

9 Cleaning and disinfecting
1. Disconnect the breathing valve from the face mask. Do not disconnect the
breathing hose from the breathing valve.
2. Mount a wash plug on the breathing valve.
3. When washing the cylinder use wash plug 32350-51 on the cylinder valve
pressure gauge if applicable.
4. Open the cylinder valve and check that there is pressure in the system before
cleaning.
Note: Having the cylinder valve open prevents water from entering the system and
bubbles will indicate any leaks in the system.
5. Spray on or submerge the breathing apparatus in water and cleaning solvent.
Use cleaning solvent recommended by Interspiro, max. 55°C.
6. Clean the apparatus with a sponge or brush.
7. Rinse the apparatus in clean water, max 60°C.
8. Remove all wash plugs from the breathing apparatus.
9. Close the cylinder valve and activate positive pressure to purge air from the
system.
10. Press down the reserve air lever to the retreat position.
11. Dry the apparatus, max 60°C.
10 Storage
Store the apparatus in a cool, dry, dust-free place. Protect rubber parts from direct
sunlight, UV radiation and air exchange. Whenever the regulator is not connected, the
cylinder valve must be tted with a blanking plug.
11 Service and testing schedule
Service and testing must as a minimum be carried out according to Interspiro’s
Service and Testing Schedule, or according to local requirements. Visit www.

Denna handhavandemanual är avsedd för apparater som består av INCURVE Bärställ i
kombination med en insticksregulator med reservlusventil.
1 Säkerhetsanvisning
Denna produkt får endast användas tillsammans med andra godkända Interspiro-
produkter. Produkten får endast användas av personal med god hälsa som har fått
utbildning i användningen av andningsskyddsutrusning. Om produkten används
av personer med skägg eller stora polisonger föreligger risk för otillräcklig tätning.
Apparaten måste ges underhåll, service och testas enligt anvisningarna i denna
handhavandemanual samt servicemanualer och testinstruktioner från Interspiro.

Andningsluen som flaskorna fylls med måste uppfylla villkoren enligt EN 12021, dvs.
vara fri från olja och giiga ämnen samt ha en låg fuktighet.
Aktionstiden för en andningsapparat beror på mängden lu i flaskan (flaskorna) och
luförbrukningen, som varierar med användaren och påverkas av arbetsbelastningen.
När lu tas från den extra luanslutningen (som vissa modeller är försedda med) ökar
luförbrukningen och apparatens användningstid minskar.
När man använder två flaskor med separata, oberoende flaskventiler måste båda
flaskorna vara trycksatta med liknande arbetstryck. Öppna alltid båda flaskventilerna
när andningsapparaten trycksätts och säkerställ att båda flaskventilerna är öppna vid
användning av apparaten.
Om andningsapparaten ska användas i kombination med annan personlig
skyddsutrustning är det viktigt att säkerställa att den extra personliga
skyddsutrustningen är kompatibel med andningsapparaten och inte försämrar
andningsenhetens heltäckande skydd.
Exempel på faror som kan kräva användning av extra personlig skyddsutrustning:

- Vätskor, ånga eller gaser som kan skada huden
- Föroreningar som kan tas upp av huden
- Termisk strålning
- Mekanisk påverkan
- Explosiva miljöer
- Syreberikad andningslu.

2 Reservluftsventil
Varning avges när flasktrycket sjunkit till 55 +/- 5 bar. Vid varning klipps
lutillförseln av i slutet av varje inandning. Detta resulterar i successivt kortare
inandningsfaser tills lutillförseln stängs helt. Vid första förnimmelsen av varningen
kan reservlusventilen utlösas genom att fälla ner vredet (återtågsläge). Därmed
låses ventilen i öppet läge varvid full kapacitet erhålls igen. Antalet andetag under
varningsfasen påverkas av den aktuella luförbrukningen.
Vid flasktryck över 80 bar kan vredet inte låsas i återtågsläge.

3 Räddningsslang
Apparaten kan som tillval ha en räddningsslang med vilken användaren kan ge och
ta emot lu i nödsituationer. Den är utrustad med en han- och en honkoppling som
passar i varandra.
OBS: för att en apparat ska kunna ta emot lu måste reservlusvredet på den
mottagande apparaten vara i återtågsläge. Om vredet är i uppfällt läge kommer ingen
lu fram till masken. Den som ger lu till en annan apparat genom ihopkopplade
räddningsslangar måste se till att den mottagande apparatens reservlusvred är i
återtågsläge. Se bilder ovan.
1. Om den mottagande apparaten har ett flasktryck över 80 bar fälls reservlusvredet till
återtågsläge när varningen aktiveras.
2.Om räddningsslangen kopplas till snabbkopplingen på manöverenheten kan lu alltid
tas emot oavsett reservlusvredets läge.
Räddningsslangen är monterad som på bilden
till höger. För att använda räddningsslangen
fatta tag om Y-kopplingen och drag loss slangen
från sin infästning.

4 Montering
Montering av flaskpaket på bärställ
1. Kontrollera att flaskventilen är stängd.
2. Lägg flaskpaketet med flaskventilratten nedåt.
3. Skruva bort blindpluggen med en 23 mm nyckel.
4. Centrera bärställets fästskena över flaskpaketet.
5. Passa in fästskenans hål i dubbarna på flaskpaketet och skjut ryggplattan bort
från bärhandtaget tills bärstället snäpper fast med flaskpaketet. Kontrollera att
flaskpaketet sitter fast ordentligt i bärstället genom att försiktigt lya den övre
och nedre änden av bärstället.
6. Skruva in regulatorns flaskanslutning i flaskventilen.

Demontering av flaskpaket från bärställ
1. Tryck ner låsspärren på fästskenans övre del och skjut samtidigt bärstället mot
bärhandtaget.
2. Ly bort bärstället.
Snabbkoppling - tillval
Koppla samman genom att rikta in flaskventilens adapter i linje med samlingsstyckets
flaskanslutning. Tryck ihop tills samlingsstycket ”klickar” fast med flaskventilen.
Kontrollera att den röda O-ringen inte är synlig.
Koppla isär genom att trycka snabbkopplingens ring bort från flaskventilen och ta bort
samlingsstycket.
Bentliga flaskpaket kan anpassas genom att skruva in snabbkopplingens adapter i
flaskventilen. Dra åt med 20 Nm med en 5 mm insexnyckel.
5 Kontroll av reservluftsventil
1. Stäng av säkerhetstrycket (enligt handhavandemanualen för masken).
2. Öppna flaskventilen helt.
- Kontrollera att vredet automatiskt går tillbaka till normalläget över 80 bar.
3. Stäng flaskventilen.
4. Öppna säkerhetstrycket.
5. Tryck ner reservlusvredet till återtågsläge när trycket har passerat ca. 40 bar
- Kontrollera att kort lustöt hörs.

6 Påtagning
1. Lossa axelremmarna och midjebältet och ta på apparaten.
2. Dra nackremmen över huvudet.
3. Knäpp midjebältets spänne och dra åt, se till att den största tyngden ligger på
midjebältet och inte på axelremmarna.
4. Anpassa axelremmarna och stoppa in eventuella lösa remmar.
5. Öppna flaskventilen helt.
VARNING: Säkerställ att flaskventilen är helt öppen för att eliminera risken för lustopp
när flasktrycket sjunker.
6. Ta på masken enligt anvisningarna i handhavandemanual för masken.
7. För version med friskluslucka: aktivera säkerhetstrycket. För version med
automatisk aktivering: säkerhetstrycket aktiveras automatiskt vid kraig
inandning.
7 Kontroll före användning
1. Håll andan och kontrollera att det inte hörs något luflöde.
2. För in två ngrar mellan tätningskanten och ansiktet och kontrollera att det hörs
ett starkt luflöde.
3. Stäng av säkerhetstrycket och läs av manometern. Stäng flaskventilen.
OBS: För att förhindra att flaskventilen stängs av oavsiktligt måste ventilratten tryckas in
innan man kan stänga av den.
4. Kontrollera att trycket inte sjunker med mer än 10 bar på en minut.
5. Öppna flaskventilen helt.
8 Avtagning av apparaten
1. Stäng av säkerhetstrycket och ta av masken.
2. Stäng flaskventilen.
OBS: För att förhindra att flaskventilen stängs av oavsiktligt måste ventilratten tryckas in
innan man kan stänga av den.
3. Öppna midjespännet på bältet och lossa axelremmarna.
4. Ta av apparaten och aktivera säkerhetstrycket för att avlua systemet.
5. Fäll ner reservlusvredet i återtågsläge.

9 Rengöring och desinficering
1. Koppla loss andningsventilen från ansiktsmasken. Låt andningsslangen sitta
kvar i ventilen.
2. Sätt en tvättplugg på andningsventilen.
3. När du tvättar flaskan, sätt tvättplugg 32350-51 på flaskventilens manometer, om
sådan nns.
4. Öppna flaskventilen och kontrollera att systemet är trycksatt före rengöring.
OBS: Om flaskventilen är öppen hindras vatten från att tränga in i systemet och bubblor
visar eventuellt läckage i systemet.
5. Spraya eller sänk ner hela andningsapparaten i vatten med rengöringsmedel.
Använd av Interspiro rekommenderat rengöringsmedel, max. 55°C.
6. Rengör apparaten med svamp eller borste.
7. Skölj apparaten i rent vatten, max 60°C.
8. Ta bort alla tvättpluggar från andningsapparaten.
9. Stäng flaskventilen och aktivera positivt tryck för att rensa systemet från lu.
10. Fäll ner reservlusvredet i återtågsläge..
11. Torka apparaten i max 60°C.
10 Förvaring
Förvara apparaten på en sval, torr och dammfri plats. Skydda gummidelarna mot
direkt solljus, UV-strålning och luväxling. När regulatorenheten inte är ansluten,
skall flaskventilen alltid vara försedd med en blindpropp.
11 Service- och testschema
Service och testning ska som ett minimum utföras enligt service- och testschemat
