DESCRIPTION
The DePuy Mitek Gll Anchor is intended for
fixation of USP size #0 through #2 suture to bone
for the indications listed below. Proper drill hole
size is 2.4 mm x 14.2 mm. Minimum hole spacing
is 5 mm. Bone stock must be adequate to allow
proper placement.
MATERIALS
Anchor: Nickel titanium alloy (NiTi) &
6AI-4V ELI Titanium.
Suture: USP, see package label for type.
Needles: Stainless steel.
INDICATIONS
SHOULDER: Acromio-clavicular; Bankart repair;
Biceps tenodesis; Capsule shift/capsulolabral
reconstruction; Deltoid repair; Rotator cuff repair;
SLAP lesion repair.
ANKLE: Achilles tendon repair/reconstruction;
Lateral instability; Medial instability;
Midfoot reconstructions.
FOOT: Hallux valgus reconstruction.
WRIST: Scapholunate ligament reconstruction.
HAND: Ulnar or lateral collateral
ligament reconstruction.

ELBOW: Biceps tendon reattachment; Tennis
elbow repair.
KNEE: Extra capsular reconstruction, ITB tenodesis;
Lateral collateral ligament; Patellar ligament and
tendon avulsion repairs; Posterior oblique ligament
or joint capsule to tibia; Joint capsule closure to
anterior proximal tibia; Medial collateral ligament.
BNS: Fixation in pubic bone for bladder neck
suspension using USP #2 Class I nonabsorbable
synthetic suture (e.g. polypropylene). A minimum of
2 Anchors should be used in this procedure.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
1. Surgical procedures other than those listed in
the INDICATIONS section.
2. Pathologic conditions of bone, such as cystic
changes or severe osteopenia, which would
impair its ability to securely fix the DePuy Mitek
Anchor are contraindicated.
3. Pathological changes in the soft tissues sutured
to the bone which would prevent its secure
fixation by the suture are contraindicated.
4. Comminuted bone surface, which would militate
against secure fixation of the DePuy Mitek
Anchor, is contraindicated.
5. Physical conditions that would eliminate or tend
to eliminate adequate implant support or retard
healing, i.e., blood supply limitation, previous
infections, etc. are contraindicated.
6. Conditions which tend to preempt the patient’s
ability or the healing period, such as senility,
mental illness or alcoholism are contraindicated.

7. The DePuy Mitek Anchor is not designed for
and should never be used to attach artificial
ligaments or other implants.
8. Reattachment of intracapsular knee ligaments
(ACL & PCL).
STERILIZATION
The DePuy Mitek Anchor is provided sterile, do
not resterilize.
STORAGE
Store below 25°C (77°F), away from moisture and
direct heat. Do not use after expire date.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1) Drill bone site using proper size DePuy Mitek
Drill. Proper hole depth is achieved when the
mark on the Drill is in line with the top of the
DePuy Mitek Drill Guide.
WARNING: MOVING THE DRILL POWER
UNIT OFF THE AXIS OF THE HOLE WHILE
DRILLING MAY CAUSE THE DRILL TIP
TO BREAK.
2) Establish axial alignment of the DePuy Mitek
Anchor to the drill hole and insert.
WARNING: DO NOT TWIST OR APPLY
BENDING FORCE TOTHE INSERTER AS
EITHER MAY DAMAGE THE ANCHOR OR
INSERTER TIP.
WARNING: INCOMPLETE INSERTION OR
POOR BONE QUALITY MAY RESULT IN
ANCHOR PULLOUT.

3) Apply tension (approximately 8 Ibs.) on the
suture lengths to set the Anchor in the bone.
EXCESSIVE TENSION MAY OVERLOAD THE
ANCHOR OR SUTURE.
4) Complete tissue reattachment.
PRECAUTIONS
A surgeon should not begin clinical use of the
DePuy Mitek Anchor without reviewing the
instructions for use and practicing the procedure in
a skills laboratory.
Titanium alloys contain metals which may stimulate
an allergic hypersensitive response by the immune
system. The metals are nickel, titanium, vanadium,
and aluminum (Ni, Ti, V, Al). When sensitivity is
suspected pre-operatively, appropriate diagnostic
tests should be conducted prior to implantation.
CONTENTS
Contents are STERILE unless packaging is
damaged or opened.
WARNINGS
DePuy Mitek Anchors are designed to lock into
cancellous bone. After insertion, pause momentarily
to allow the titanium alloy wire component(s)
to regain the preformed arc shape. Nominal
tension (about 8 Ibs.) should be applied on the
suture lengths to set the Anchor. DO NOT USE
EXCESSIVE TENSION OR OVERLOAD THE
ANCHOR. This could lead to device pull-out or
suture breakage.
To remove, locate the Anchor by identifying the
suture tract or with radiographic assistance. Drill
or use curettes or osteotomes to open the cortical

surface. Remove the cancellous bone to expose the
Anchor. Using a needle holder or forceps, grasp the
Anchor and remove it.

la fijación al hueso de suturas de los calibres USP

TOBILLO: reinserción/reconstrucción del tendón de

Aquiles; inestabilidad lateral; Inestabilidad medial;

PIE: reconstrucción del hallux valgus.

URETROCERVICOPEXIA: fijación al pubis para
suspensión del cuello vesical usando sutura
sintética no absorbible clase I, USP nº 2 (p. ej.,
polipropileno). Este procedimiento requiere el uso
de un mínimo de dos anclas.
CONTRAINDICACIONES
1. Procedimientos quirúrgicos distintos a los
indicados en la sección INDICACIONES.
2. Procesos patológicos del hueso, como los
cambios císticos o la osteopenia grave, que
puedan alterar su capacidad para fijar con
firmeza el ancla DePuy Mitek.
3. Cambios patológicos de los tejidos blandos
suturados al hueso que puedan impedir una
fijación segura con sutura.

4. Superficies óseas conminutas, que dificultan
la fijación segura del ancla DePuy Mitek.
5. Alteraciones físicas que impidan o tiendan a
impedir el apoyo correcto del implante o que
retrasen la cicatrización, p. ej., alteraciones del
riego sanguíneo, infecciones previas, etc.
6. Procesos que tiendan a alterar la capacidad del
paciente durante el proceso de cicatrización,
tales como la senilidad, las enfermedades
mentales o el alcoholismo.
7. El ancla DePuy Mitek no ha sido diseñada para
fijar ligamentos artificiales ni otros implantes y
no debe ser empleada nunca para este fin.
8. Reinserción de los ligamentos intracapsulares
de la rodilla (LCA y LCP).
ESTERILIZACIÓN
El ancla DePuy Mitek se suministra estéril;
no reesterilice.
CONSERVACIÓN
Almacenar a una temperatura inferior a los 25 °C
en un lugar alejado de la humedad y la exposición
directa al calor. No utilice despues de la fecha
de caducidad.
INSTRUCCIONES DE EMPLEO
1) Taladrar el hueso con la broca DePuy Mitek del
tamaño adecuado. La profundidad del túnel será
adecuada cuando la marca de la broca esté
alineada con la parte superior de la guía del
broca DePuy Mitek.

2) Comprobar el alineamiento axial del ancla
DePuy Mitek con el eje del orificio e insertar.
ADVERTENCIA: EL INSERTADOR NO DEBE
SER DOBLADO NI TORCIDO, PUES ELLO
PUEDE DAÑAR EL ANCLA O LA PUNTA
DEL INSERTADOR.
ADVERTENCIA: UNA INSERCIÓN
INCOMPLETA O LA INSERCIÓN EN UN
TEJIDO ÓSEO DE CALIDAD DEFICIENTE
FACILITAN LA SALIDA DEL ANCLA.
3) Aplicar tensión (4 kg, aproximadamente) a
los extremos de la sutura para fijar el ancla
al hueso. EL EXCESO DE TENSIÓN PUEDE
SOBRECARGAR EL ANCLA O LA SUTURA.
4) Completar la unión de los tejidos.
PRECAUCIONES
El cirujano no debe usar el ancla DePuy Mitek
en la clínica sin haber revisado previamente las
instrucciones de empleo y haber practicado el
procedimiento en un laboratorio experimental.
Las aleaciones de titanio contienen metales
que pueden inducir una respuesta alérgica de
hipersensibilidad del sistema inmunitario. Estos
metales son níquel, titanio, vanadio y aluminio
(Ni, Ti, V, Al). Si se sospecha sensibilidad
en el preoperatorio, deberán realizarse las
correspondientes pruebas diagnósticas antes
de la implantación.

CONTENIDO
El contenido es ESTÉRIL a menos que el envase se
encuentre abierto o dañado.
ADVERTENCIAS
Las anclas DePuy Mitek están diseñadas para
fijarse a la esponjosa del hueso. Después de la
inserción, debe respetarse un pequeño intervalo
para permitir que los componentes fabricados
con aleación de titanio recuperen su forma de
arco original. Debe aplicarse una tensión nominal
(alrededor de 4 kg) a los extremos de la sutura para
fijar el ancla. NO USAR UNA TENSIÓN EXCESIVA
QUE PUEDA PROVOCAR LA SOBRECARGA DEL
ANCLA, ya que ello podría traer consigo la salida
del dispositivo o la dehiscencia de las suturas.
Si fuera necesario proceder a su extracción, se
localizará el ancla identificando la señal de la sutura
o con medios radiográficos. Se emplearán legras,
osteotomos o brocas para abrir la superficie cortical.
Se extirpa la esponjosa del hueso para exponer el
ancla. Esta se extraerá utilizando un portaagujas o
una pinza para sujetarla.
EL ANCLA DePuy MITEK NO DEBE SER
REUTILIZADA EN NINGÚN CASO.

DESCRIZIONE
L’ancora GII DePuy Mitek è stata ideata per
assicurare all’osso un filo di sutura di calibro
compreso tra 0 e 2 USP (3,5 / 5 EP) nelle indicazioni
sotto elencate qui a seguire. La corretta dimensione
del foro di perforazione è di 2,4 mm x 14,2 mm. Tra i
fori deve essere mantenuta una distanza minima di
5 mm. La struttura ossea deve poter consentire un
corretto inserimento del dispositivo.
MATERIALI
Ancora: lega di nickel e titanio (NiTi) e titanio
6Al-4V ELI.
Sutura: cal. USP; consultare l’etichetta sulla
confezione per il tipo specifico.
Aghi: acciaio inossidabile.
INDICAZIONI
SPALLA: acromio-clavicolare; riparazione di
Bankart; tenodesi del bicipite; spostamento della
capsula/ricostruzione capsulo-labbrale; riparazione
del deltoide; riparazione della cuffia dei rotatori;
riparazione della lesione SLAP. Reinserzione del
legamento gleno-omerale superiore, del labbro e del
tendine del bicipide sul cercine glenoido superiore.
CAVIGLIA: riparazione/ricostruzione del tendine
di Achille; instabilità laterale; instabilità mediale;
ricostruzione della parte mediana del piede.

PIEDE: ricostruzione dell’alluce valgo.
POLSO: ricostruzione del legamento scafolunare.
MANO: ricostruzione del legamento collaterale
ulnare o laterale.
GOMITO: tenorrafia del tendine del bicipite;
riparazione del gomito del tennista.
GINOCCHIO: ricostruzione extra-capsulare,
tenodesi della fascia iliotibiale; legamento collaterale
laterale; riparazione del legamento rotuleo e
dell’exeresi del tendine; reinserzione del legamento
obliquo posteriore o della capsula articolare sulla
tibia; sutura della capsula articolare alla tibia
prossimale anteriore; legamento collaterale mediale.
SOSPENSIONE DEL COLLO DELLA VESCICA:
fissaggio nell’osso pubico di sutura sintetica
non assorbibile (es. polipropilene) cal. # 2 USP
(5EP) per la sospensione del collo della vescica.
Per questa procedura dovranno essere usate un
minimo di 2 (due) ancore.
CONTROINDICAZIONI
1. Interventi chirurgici diversi da quelli elencati
nella sezione INDICAZIONI.
2. Condizioni patologiche dell’osso, come le
alterazioni cistiche o una grave osteopenia, che
potrebbero compromettere il saldo fissaggio
dell’ancora DePuy Mitek.
3. Alterazioni patologiche dei tessuti molli da
reinserire sull’osso, tali da compromettere una
loro solida fissazione mediante il materiale
di sutura.

4. Una superficie ossea comminuta, che
comprometterebbe un solido fissaggio
dell’ancora DePuy Mitek.
5. Condizioni fisiche che minerebbero, o
tenderebbero a minare, l’adeguato sostegno
dell’impianto o ritarderebbero la cicatrizzazione,
come ad esempio una limitazione dell’apporto
ematico, una precedente infezione, ecc.
6. Condizioni che tendano ad alterare la capacità
di guarigione del paziente o la durata del
periodo di guarigione, come: senilità, malattie
mentali o alcoolismo.
7. L’ancora DePuy Mitek non è indicata per la
reinserzione dei legamenti artificiali o di altri
innesti e non dovrebbe mai essere utilizzata a
tale scopo.
8. Reinserzione dei legamenti intracapsulari del
ginocchio (LCA e LCP).
STERILIZZAZIONE
L’ancora DePuy Mitek è fornita sterile.
Non risterilizzare.
CONSERVAZIONE
Conservare ad una temperatura inferiore ai 25 °C,
lontano da umidità e fonti di calore diretto. Non
utilizzare dopo la data di scadenza.
ISTRUZIONI PER L’USO
1) Praticare nell’osso il foro per l’inserimento
dell’ancora utilizzando la punta da trapano
DePuy Mitek di dimensioni adeguate. L’esatta
profondità del foro viene raggiunta quando
il segno predisposto sulla punta si allinea
all’estremità superiore della guida per trapano
DePuy Mitek.

3) Esercitare una tensione di circa 4 Kg sulle
estremità della sutura, in modo da fissare
saldamente l’ancora nel foro. UNA ECCESSIVA
TENSIONE POTREBBE CAUSARE
SOVRACCARICO DELL’ANCORA O DEL
MATERIALE DI SUTURA.
4) Completare la sutura dei tessuti.
PRECAUZIONI
Un’ancora DePuy Mitek non dovrebbe mai essere
impiegata chirurgicamente senza che il chirurgo non
abbia prima esaminato le istruzioni per l’uso e si sia
esercitato nell’intervento in un laboratorio attrezzato.
Le leghe di titanio contengono metalli che possono
provocare una reazione allergica di ipersensibilità

da parte del sistema immunitario. Tali metalli sono
nickel, titanio, vanadio e alluminio (Ni, Ti, V, Al).
In caso di sospetta reattività, prima di procedere
all’inserimento dell’ancora sarebbe opportuno
eseguire degli adeguati esami diagnostici.
CONTENUTO
Il contenuto è STERILE se la confezione non risulta
danneggiata o aperta.
AVVERTENZE
Le ancore DePuy Mitek sono state progettate per il
fissaggio nelle ossa spongiose. Dopo l’inserimento,
attendere per qualche istante che le componenti
metalliche in lega di titanio riacquistino l’originaria
forma ad arco. Per fissare saldamente l’ancora in
posizione, le estremità del filo di sutura dovrebbero
essere sottoposte ad una trazione nominale di
circa 4 kg. NON ESERCITARE UNA TRAZIONE
ECCESSIVA NE’ SOVRACCARICARE L’ANCORA.
Ciò potrebbe determinare il disinserimento del
dispositivo o la rottura del materiale di sutura.
Per rimuovere l’ancora, localizzarne la posizione
identificando il tratto di sutura o effettuando una
radiografia. Aprire la superficie corticale per mezzo
di una punta da trapano, di un cucchiaio per
raschiamento o di un osteotomo. Asportare il tessuto
osseo in modo da esporre l’ancora. Con l’ausilio di
un porta-aghi o di una pinza, afferrare l’ancora e
procedere alla rimozione.
LE ANCORE DePuy MITEK NON DEVONO MAI
ESSERE RIUTILIZZATE.

BLASENHALS-SUSPENSION: Verankerung
von Suspensionsfäden im Os pubis zur Stützung

diesem Verfahren benutzt werden.
GEGENANZEIGEN
1. Chirurgische Verfahren, die nicht unter
INDIKATIONEN aufgeführt sind.
2. Knochenveränderungen, wie z. B. zystische
Veränderungen oder schwere Osteopenie, die
eine sichere Ankerfixierung gefährden würden.
3. Nicht ausreichende Nahthaltekapazität im
zu verankernden Gewebe, so dass eine sichere
Refixierung gefährdet ist.
4. Knochenfragmente, die eine sichere
Ankerfixierung gefährden würden.
5. Physische Zustände, die eine angemessene
Implantat-Behandlung und Nachheilung
behindern: z. B. Blutversorgungseinschränkungen
und Infektionen, etc.

6. Krankheitserscheinungen, die die
Heilungsfähigkeit und Heilung des
Patienten einschränken, wie z. B. Senilität,
Geisteskrankheiten oder Alkoholismus.
7. Der DePuy Mitek Anker ist nicht für die
Befestigung künstlicher Bänder oder anderer
Implantate geeignet.
8. Wiederherstellung von vorderem und
hinterem Kreuzband.
STERILISATION
Der DePuy Mitek Anker wird steril geliefert,
nicht resterilisieren.
LAGERUNG
Nicht über 25 °C lagern, vor Feuchtigkeit und
direkter Wärme schützen. Nicht nach dem
Verfallsdatum verwenden.
ANWENDUNG
1) Implantierung des DePuy Mitek GII Ankers unter
Verwendung des DePuy Mitek Bohrers und der
Bohrbüchse vorbereiten. Eine optimale Lochtiefe
wird erreicht, wenn die Längenmarkierung auf
dem Bohrer und die Spitze der Bohrbüchse in
einer Ebene liegen.
ACHTUNG: DAS BEWEGEN DER
BOHRMASCHIENE AUS DER
BOHRLOCH-ACHSE KANN WÄHREND
DES BOHRENS ZUM ABBRECHEN DER
BOHRERSPITZE FÜHREN.
2) Setzinstrument axial auf die Lochöffnung
ausrichten und den Anker auf maximal mögliche
Tiefe implantieren.

Anker im Bohrloch entgültig zu befestigen.

4) Refixation beenden.
VORSICHTSMASSNAHMEN
DePuy Mitek Anker sollten vom Chirurgen
nicht klinisch angewendet werden, bevor die
Gebrauchsanweisung sorgfältig gelesen und das
Installationsverfahren in einem qualifizierten Labor
eingeübt wurde.
Titan-Legierungen enthalten Metalle, die zu
allergischen Reaktionen oder Überempfindlichkeit
des Immunsystems führen können. Folgende
Metalle finden Anwendung: Titan, Aluminium,
Vanadium und Nickel (Ti, Al, V und Ni). Wird
Empfindlichkeit gegenüber diesen Metallen
angenommen, so sollte eine ausreichende
präoperative Untersuchung vorgenommen werden.
INHALT
Der Inhalt der Packung ist STERIL, es sei denn, die
Packung wurde geöffnet oder beschädigt.
